    My new addiction

They had the comic Saga I wanted and put it on hold on for me when I called in. My new addiction.. and this store supports it. Also the store owner also suggested similar reads. He was easy to talk to. We talked about the death of Julie Strain a model who was often drawn on the comic Heavy Metal. And he gave my dog treats he had behind the counter! I liked the selection they had and I heard from a friend that they held events at the store! It was a fun experience. Clean store and organized. Two comics for $30. I would come back for sure!

When planning our recent vacation to San Francisco, my teen son requested a trip to a comic book store in the city. His plan was basically to get a comic book based in San Francisco FROM a comic book store in San Francisco. If you know me, I love a challenge and researching potential places to go to and experiences to be had. All of the comic book stores were located equally inconvenient to where we were staying in an amazing AirBnB in Daly City and the attractions we were planning to finally get to experience since we didn't travel with our dog this trip. (That's why this trip was all about the tourist trap attractions...LOL). Amazing Fantasy got my attention by many of the reviews as well as the general look and feel of the store. I knew that my son would LOVE this store. It doesn't hurt that the late Stan Lee had actually been there! My son was a HUGE Stan Lee fan. He even wore one of his Stan Lee shirts that day just for our visit to Amazing Fantasy. When we pulled up to this store, my son realized that it is the exact same store he saw two years ago when we were driving by and he got the idea that led us here. Fate? Maybe. Needless to say... he was even more excited to go in. Amazing Fantasy did not disappoint! He was amazed by all of the memorabilia and the extent of the comic books and collections available. The prices were what I expected, as well. Frank, the owner, is also amazing. He was very personable, told us about Stan Lee's visit and how genuine he was, talked to my son about cosplay, and appreciated our business. When we asked if my son could get a picture with Frank, he offered Captain America's shield for my son to hold for the picture. My son brought a few pieces of one of his Spider-Man cosplays just for this purpose, too. He had an amazing time. We will definitely be back when in the area. Check it out; you will love Amazing Fantasy, too!

Where do I even start? Husband and I were trying to get…read moresome cards. Never heard of this store so we decided to check it out. It's online order only and you can't go inside. The employee seemed offended that we didn't know the process and told us they did pickup only. Not once did he inform us on the actual website. Secondly the employee from the back came out to "answer" our questions, which he also was offended we were inquiring about a set that came out 6 weeks ago. He informed us we were "6 weeks late". He then proceeded to tell us incorrect information about the sets. Which feels was done on purpose. Pricing? These are scalpers, unauthorized resellers. These are the kind of people that weigh/scan packs and open all the hits. They were showing us set boxes with the shrink wrap missing, but were selling it to us at scalper pricing. (Meaning they weren't doing that thing were target rips open the shrink wrap so only collectors buy)

There are various bookstores which face the street sidewalks of San Francisco and are easy to enter and exit. There is a bookstore in San Francisco which is hidden from the public side walk and accessible through a mall on the second floor. It's located inside the Japan Center in Japantown and it's called Kinokuyina. On a Spring stroll inside Japan Center I landed inside Kinokuyina. In the land of the rising sun Kinokuyina is a bookstore was founded in 1927 in Japan and turns 100 years next year. This San Francisco location is the first in the USA which opened since 1969. They have other locations such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia, Singapore,Hong Kong, Taiwan, and the Philippines. Inside you will find lots of books in Japanese Kanji and English Manga. They also sell lots of novelties and t-shirts. This a great international bookstore in San Francisco. Did you know they have six stores in California and four in Texas alone? I'll gladly reconfigure my thoughts about Texans, that they that can support the existence of four Kinokuniya bookstores. Respectfully. I enjoy browsing the SF store, especially the travel section, cookbooks, and unique magazines. They have all the requisite kawaii stuff including Miffy, Moomin, Studio Ghibli, and Sonny Angels. Having Google Translate at the ready in camera mode, makes exploring some of the Japanese titles even more fun. A unique, immersive bookstore experience.
