Tule Springs Branch Facility was inviting, staff acknowledged my presence and advised of a short wait. Shawna shortly greeted me and informed me the process would take about 30 minutes and asked if that would work. She processed a new account for me. She was very detailed, explaining the types and costs of each account. She was friendly and thorough. I appreciated her help as did not feel comfortable doing this online myself. 3 reasons why I gave a 1 star rating . I don't bank here & never will now! Today is September 11th, & this is my 3rd visit in the past week & 1/2 trying to make a deposit at your atm & it's still down...how long does it take to fix this?? Terrible service considering this is the only way I'm allowed to do any banking here bc your a co-op bank w mountain America credit union who I bank with, but we can't use your drive thru, nor can we make deposits inside the branch which is ridiculous! If your gonna be a co op bank, then why can't we use your bank other than just the atm outside ? So I go inside the branch to find out what's going on w the atm ...that you can do everything but make a deposit. She said yes, the depositor was down but that someone was coming out to fix it, & that was a week & 1/2 ago! So here I am this morning on 9/11 still trying to make a deposit, & machine is still down!! So I go inside the branch & ask what it takes to join their credit union , bc I'm carrying around $4,000 that I need to get into a bank & the lady said if you are a teacher, a firefighter, or ems worker, or still in school it would be free to join, I said none apply to me, she said the only other way would be to donate a 1 time fee of $65 to PBS tv, & I said what?? I tell her never mind, & walked out! I had $4,000 that I was ready to deposit, bc I asked her what the rates were on her CD's & she told me 4% & I was good w that, but bc they seemed so greedy for you to join their bank, I took my $4,000 , said no thanks , & walked out their door! I WOULD NEVER JOIN THIS CREDIT UNION JUST BC THEY SHOWED ME WHO THEY WERE.... GOUGERS!! Now I'll take my business elsewhere, bc I'm tired of coming to your branch & the depositor is still down & tired of wasting my time, so I warn you people...dont bank here, find another bank !! Silver State Schools Credit Union, on West Flamingo, has a gem in their midst. Brian Chavez is a Senior Member Service Representative. To me, he's my banking hero! I met him a year ago to do a funds transfer at the 11th hour for a house purchase. He was amazing that day and told me to reach out if I needed anything. Since then, we have refinanced cars, purchased cars, and dealt with normal every day things. Whenever I have a question or I have a need, I can email Brian or leave him a voicemail and he respond within an hour or two. The only time he doesn't respond is when he's on vacation! In a day and time that is so hard to get a real person to help you, this resource I have an Brian Chavez is absolutely priceless! He knows the ins and outs of the credit union, their policies, their mobile app, and everything! He's truly amazing at what he does!! read more

This branch is located inside of the Albertson's. There is an ATM and a small counter with about 3 tellers for your convenience. I have always found the wait time to be under 5 minutes each time I have used a teller. They are friendly and ask if you need other assistance. They do ask that you take off hats and sunglasses while using the facility which is totally understandable because of safety concerns. read more

Horrible customer service! The employees don't know what's going on. We have a car loan through silver state and every single time we come to this location there is an issue. Today some woman said that I cannot pay my car payment through the drive through even though I have been paying using the drive through for the past 4 years! I have children with me always and I cannot leave them in the car alone in the parking lot. She was very rude and treated me like a criminal rather than a customer. I re-financed a vehicle through them and was able to pay it off in full in April this year. I have still not received my title. It has been 5 months now without receiving it and they continue to make excuses as to why I have not received it. They need to figure this out because this is unacceptable. 1 star for poor training and respect for their customers. Fist mistake they put my money in the wrong account! Someone's else's account not mine! Second mistake they put the money in the wrong name and lastly third mistake they put in the wrong amount into my account shorted me by $200 caught it and the tellers response is "Oh okay" and fixes it. This CU are a bunch of crooks. Nissan used them to finance my new car. Two weeks later, SSSCU calls me to tell me that the dealership put down the wrong payoff amount on my old car and that I owed $2k more, which would be added to the new loan and change my agreed to payment. Long story short, the employee at SSSCU pulled the correct amount, but misquoted it over the phone. They even reviewed the call to see it was their employee's error. They refused to take responsibility for the error and I had to sign to a payment of $30 more per month. Shady business with no accountability. Consumers will be punished for their failure to follow their own protocol. I will be shopping a refi out of this scam of a company. read more

Worst customer service I have ever received from a bank! I DO NOT recommend opening an account with this branch in particular! If you do open an account, you will have to wait 10 days before getting ANY money for the first 30 days! I guess they don't expect you to be able to eat or pay bills for 10 days! Also, they make you wait 2 days to get your money if you use their atm to deposit a check! There is no convenience in that, so if you work off Vegas hours or are in a hurry, you're out of luck! Came into some temporary income issues and fell 2 months behind on a loan. I attempted to make a partial payment since my money situation was improving but not perfect. The branch refused a partial payment and wouldn't give me a reason other than cause we said so. Have been with SSCU since 1995.....and have had three bad experiences with customer service/mortgage department in just a couple of months. Apparently once your money sits in their hands you don't mean much anymore. Messages and emails sent...no one gets back to you. Phone access puts you through holds and delays...and if you aren't in Vegas or Reno areas...where there are actual brick and mortar buildings to walk into and touch your money! .....it can be difficult to access or use your money. I guess I don't understand banking regulations nowdays......I suggest you keep your money in a large, national bank where you have branch offices throughout the country that you can access. read more

I've been a member since 1992 and was APPALLED at the $6 that they charge for their E-Checking account. I have been a loyal member for 28 years and this is how we're treated. Even someone that worked for the company for 7 years in multiple departments. The member service rep tried to sell me on the basic checking for $3 and my response was "No not interested period." She didn't even try to convince me to stay. Worst customer service experience ever. I found free checking at America First CU and they've been really helpful. I applied for the online account and opened with $50. The minimum balance is $25. The account was closed by them because I had a change of address that was not reported to them. Obviously, they didn't call and confirm. I was logging on to check and was never prompted to change my address on file. And why would I? I was charged a $25 fee for not having the change of address that took me to a $25 minimum and they charged $10 to my account until they closed my account for not having any funds. First in line with nice people then had numerous questions and transactions which were dealt with efficiently and professionally. Some idiot in line got impatient and started demanding they add more tellers. I had an issue with my account. I called to speak with a member services representative. I got a young lady named, Toya or Toria. I explained my situation to her. She seemed to be annoyed with my persistence to file a dispute. Her tone was not nice, and I could hear moments when she would blow air, as I spoke, as if I was disturbing her from doing something else. She didn't want to be bothered. I then had to confront her attitude, because I felt as a customer I deserved better service. She talked over me and argued, which confirmed the vibe I was getting. Her customer service skills are horrible. It makes me not want to call the members service's line in fear of getting her, which is sad. Update... Spoke to the manager Cheryl and she wanted to repremand me for getting Toria told about her poor customer service skills. I was not having it. Bottom line, we would not be having this conversation had Toria or Toya been more professional. Work on your presentation! Don't talk over the customer. Then maybe you won't get told about yourself! I have been banking with silver state for more then 15 years. My father was even a vice president of information technology for the company at one time. I used to love banking with them until the last four years or so. I constantly have issues with them. This most recent one has finally prompted me to write a review and warn people. I recently moved to South Carolina. It took me about a month to find a job, unfortunately I acquired some overdraft fees and was working to pay them off and get my bills up to date. I was forced to evacuate due to hurricane dorian. Any money I had went to funding that. My first paycheck was also delayed for 5 days due to the storm. so I had waited almost a month to be paid. When I finally received it yesterday I went to deposit it into my account to pay my overdraft fees and upcoming bills. Even getting the check into the account was a headache as they had locked me out from my account but I made it happen. Silver state has put a 9 day hold on ALL of my remaining paycheck. Let me be clear this is a PAYROLL check. This is all of the money I have in the world. I tried to talk to a service representative to see if they could do anything. Not even a little bit helpful. Im writing this because I don't know what else to do. None of the employees will help me and I get way too worked up when I try to talk to them. This is absolutely CRUEL. I now have no money to feed myself, or my animals. I have no money to get to work...... until they release the remainder of my check... which isn't until my next payday. Which by then I probably will have been hit with yet even more fees when my account gets hit with bills. Review of SSSCU and the W.Flamingo branch in particular. Let me start with SSSCU as a whole. They don't do enough to protect your money. A fraudulent act occurred where someone somehow obtained the debit card number and made a mail order purchase to Verizon of over 400 hundred dollars. They let the transaction go through as a "pending charge" This pending charge caused other checks to get returned which totally depleted the account and put us in the negative. One of the returned checks was for my auto insurance. Of course they say they will do this investigation and we are still waiting for the outcome. Meanwhile we have checks written, returned and will most likely have late charges now. Two days later I have an issue with my ATM card telling me after several tries that I have entered wrong PIN number. SSSCU had previously had major issues with all their ATMS for weeks. So with the fraud, the previous ATM issues, and then the incorrect PIN number I had become very irritated...now, here is where the customer service comes in play. Based on other reviews I read about the W. Flamingo branch it looks like they really haven't fixed the poor customer service issue. The woman who I had the misfortune of helping me never wears a name tag, african american, thin and with noticeable tattoos began with "did you leave the card in the ATM?" Being already annoyed with everything that has happened this made me more annoyed. She then said, "you know you can call and have the PIN number changed". Totally missing the point of my trying to find out becoming more annoyed. So of course I am not going to be soft spoken with everything that is going on. I didn't cuss, I didn't call names, I am just behaving how any other customer would behave when all these things occur. This woman clearly doesn't know how to handle frustrated and irritated customers with zero compassion whatsoever. She said to me that I don't have to cop an attitude and went on and on about that. I said I didn't want her to help me anymore so she begins laughing. She calls up other customers in an extremely happy way like I have never seen her do before. I then go over to where my wife is who discussing the fraud matter and this woman keeps looking over and laughing my direction, taunting me. Soon she is with an assistant branch manager who is taller, blonde, and caucasian pointing at me and both laughing. I left and said I'm glad you think this is funny. I would love to complain to the district manager, the district manager I am told works at this branch, I've seen her there many times, she never smiles at anyone and in the past observed that she always carries a "what are you doing here" look on here face. So she seems unapproachable. So I have already began pulling my money out and am currently looking for another institution to refinance my vehicle somewhere else as well since my vehicle was financed through SSSCU. I have been bringing my business there for 13 years and since they relocated it has been very unsatisfactory. SSSCU, please don't reply. Since there has already been poor reviews about customer service it appears nothing has or is being done anyway. There is no sense in waisting anymore time. I am so glad that I opened an account at this credit union! They have this new promotion called the ABC loan and it saved me 2% on my 2015 Tahoe and my husband 2% on his 2016 Silverado ! That's an extra $200 a month saved ! Their customer service was great as well as their follow up! We had both of the loans done in less than a week signed and checks mailed out ! In order to turn in the loose coins we saved over the last year, we were going to go to coinstar, but then learned about the charge of nine percent of MY money to count it and get cash or put it on a gift card. So I got wrappers and spent one whole Saturday morning counting and wrapping coins. I went to my credit union today to turn them in and was told they would CHARGE me five percent of the total of the coins for accepting them. I could not believe it. They want FIVE PERCENT for putting the coins I saved, counted, and rolled into their safe. IS THERE ANYTHING THESE THUGS DON'T MAKE MONEY ON? Our local credit unions are supposed to be different than these NY banks, but they're lined up just like the BIG MONEYMAKERS to grab every single penny they can. GOD HELP US!!!! read more
