Do not take your loved ones here. They only came to check on my dad who was a fall risk when I was there. My dad slept all day they never did anything with him. He fell several times and if wasn't for his roommate being able to ask for help who knows how long he would be in the floor. My dad was there for 5 days and they never took him to bathe/shower. My family would clean him up in the sink and use wipes. When I asked if they could shower him they said oh yes tomorrow is his day and I came the next day nope no shower still in the same clothes. He was at this facility to get stronger so he could show himself. We ended up taking him out after 5 days because they didn't do anything with him or take care of him. One night he fell bad hit his face and they called to let us know but it wasn't that bad. We asked should we take him to the ER they said no it fine. Went first thing in the morning not only did he get a swollen black eye he did need stitches. That was the last straw pulled him out that day. read more

Can I post a ZERO stars?!?!? This facility has been the rudest and worst experience ever. My father has been there for rehab for months, and although some of the PT staff has been friendly, the "nursing" staff can only be described as inadequate, incompetent, rude, dismissive, and incapable. We have begged for pain meds to be given HOURS past their doctor assigned times. After my father made no sense for three days, we insisted that he had a UTI. We finally took an at-home test for him because they refused-stating FROM HIS NURSE, Lynette, that they "haven't noticed ANY signs". Now that we shared the results that he DOES, in fact, have a UTI.... We were told no doctor was available. I could go on and on. I won't even bother to share the story of how a nurse told my mother to be "more patient because she was with other patients" sharply along with several other rude comments made by YoYo. This was after waiting 2.5 hours for pain meds for my father. Ugh. Bed sores are the worst I've ever seen. This place is a JOKE ZERO STARS - we were warned not to go here by a hospital staff , but our hands were tied because it's the only place my mother could drive to safely read more

I won't even give this place a 1 star! The facility is beautiful but the care is awful!!!!!!! My 90 year old mother-in-law with dementia was severely neglected! She stayed in wet diapers for hours, had back to back UTI's because of this and was neglected by staff! The CNA named Gabby put her in the bathroom only to walk away and refused to get her out when she was done. Took someone 45 minutes to get her!!!!That was while we were visiting her. What went on when we were gone???? I had family members come in from out of state only to sit and cry by the abuse they saw! The state should be on this place!!!!! Might I add I did threaten to call the state and then they kicked my mother-in-law out!!! How??? She kept falling and the hospital was into them as well. They said she was a liability to them and we transferred her! She is now happy with this new place! Couldn't say enough about the care they are giving her. I do need to stress that when my mother-in-law first went into Silver Tree, she was walking, independent and could do things on her own! That was just 2 years ago!!!!!!!!!!! The severe UTI's confused her and she kept falling! The last stint gave her a severe brain bleed where she was hospitalized and almost died! I would NOT have these people watch my dogs!!! The new administration with Kori is horrible! The billing is horrible!! Lastly, this administration never even said goodbye to her when she left even though they kicked her out!!!! If you are reading this, please stay far, far away!!!!!! They don't take care of your loved ones...they abuse them, take your money, and wait for them to die!!!!!!! read more

The room was not cleaned, even once, in my husband's three-week stay, not even the bathroom. I brought towels from home for him to use when I shaved him. My husband was there because of a stroke and had trouble getting to the urinal quick enough. I came, and noticed a puddle of urine next to his bed. He said the nurse told him that since he doesn't use the urinal, anyway, she will just take it out, so she left without cleaning up the puddle, and took away his urinal. When I found out about this, I complained at the nurses station. They told that nurse to get a towel from the bathing area and clean up the urine with one of the towels that they use to dry off patients after their bath. I watched her clean it up, and all she did was smear it around. I went back up to the nurses station and complained again, and another nurse also went and got a clean towel, and smeared the urine around some more. There were many other terrible experiences, but I will just say it was a horrible experience overall, and I would never recommend this facility to anyone. read more

Do not go to this place for a job. Almost all of the long time workers have left. The rest are hanging by a thread. You are treated terrible at this facility. They do not care about you. They are at the bare minimum staff because of low census but none of the office jobs were cut. The CNAS and nurses are working themselves to death. The workload is impossible even with the lower census. No matter how much you tell them they just don't care. Patients are not getting the care they need. Food is cold they can't get to the bathroom and the medicines are very late. They only go by how many patients there are instead of how hard it is to take care of them. Even when the patients complain nobody listens. Do yourself a favor and work some where else. Work at a place that cares about the staff. read more

Do NOT under any circumstances leave your loved ones here. I work for an ambulance company and was picking up a patient from this facility. Not only did I have to wait for 30 minutes to retrieve my patient, but didn't at all because the nurses didn't seem to document the appointment my patient had ended up missing it. In the time that I waited 30 minutes, a patient was screaming BLOODY MURDER and NOBODY helped her. All nurses walked past the room. Patients were right next to the nurses trying to get their attention and the nurses would completely ignore and walk away from them. In addition to more than 3 nurses on break, the nurse's station was lit up like a Christmas tree with red lights of the different rooms that needed assistance and NOBODY did anything. This place is disgusting and whoever puts their family here should be ashamed of themselves including the workers that swore an oath to protect and help others. Absolutely absurd! read more

Call this morning at 4:30 AM from my dad in his first evening at Silver Tree Nursing facility in Schertz. At 3ish AM they will not take him to the bathroom because he is not able to walk right now. I show up at 5:30 to share this. LVN tells CNA to get a wheel chair that is sitting right in front her and take him. 10 minutes later he is back in bed. 10:30 PM - 5 hours before - He perceives CNA to be verbally abusive. We live in a sad world that this is the best they can do to take care of the elderly. So these two ruin the reputation of the whole place which is a shame as the place has good caring employees otherwise. read more

All I want to do is TALK an admissions person! Not one person yesterday was on the premises to tell us if they have a Medicaid pending bed. I was assured by the end of the day I would get a call back. NO CALL. So this morning I called and was transferred to an admissions person. After 30 rings I hung up very frustrated. NO VOICE MAIL??How can a business run effectively with NO one ALWAYS at the facility to answer question LIKE, DO YOU HAVE A MEDICAID PENDING BED? The paperwork is already submitted where she is at rehab. Goodness CROSS-TRAIN the financial person!!! The receptionist was very nice and apologetic. read more

I stayed at STRN for two months. The food was wonderful. My favorite people are Kristy Cooper because she always listen to you. I have been visiting many nursing facilities to find a fit for my mother and which I felt comfortable with the level of care expressed to be given to their patients. After hearing them all express they have all levels of patient needs and work to assist them all, I was shocked to hear the lady who gave me a tour of this facility state that although they take hospice patients this facility may not be a good fit for her due to her level of care needed and her inability to do for her self. My husband did not believe me, so he called the next day which was a Saturday so admissions is not in but the lady who answered the phone offered to try to assist and when he asked about her level of care needed she agreed this may not be the place for her. I am shocked as their website and pamphlets state they are a skilled nursing facility. Although shocked I guess I should be thankful that they were upfront in not wanting to care for patients who are not mobile or able to care for themselves. read more

Family member recently stayed there for therapy after broken hip. Outstanding nurse aid Sheila and the best nurse we have ever encountered , Jennifer. These two went above and beyond as if we were the only patient in the building. Therapy was amazing! I would not recommend this establishment simply because there is not enough staff. Hard workers run ragged. We made multiple complaints to Peter and all he did was blame his nurses. He even stated that they are within the guidelines for the amount of staff required. We watched how hard they work and saw how hard it was to meet the demands of the patients. They were often running between 2 rooms at a time. Peter would just try to please us by telling us he would talk with the staff. You could clearly see that he was not going to take responsibility for the mistakes and delays. We started feeling bad for all of the nurses and aids. You could clearly see that he did not care that his workers were struggling. The thing that upset us at the end was , he ( Peter head nurse) must have gotten sick of my wife complaining , he actually asked us when my mother is leaving!! Michayla was very helpful , along with Hilda. Occasional missing clothing , but always found. I don't recommend a nursing home that so obviously doesn't care about the nurses. read more
