Just 15 minutes out Sunnyview Rd, with rolling hills and Mountain Views. Grounds are well manicured and modern. The bar area is a bright, open space with stone and wood throughout. Fireplace with leather chairs make a cozy place! Outdoor seating is covered, with a large concrete pad. Live music the day we were here, kudos to the event planner, everything was PERFECT! Very clean, new and comfortable. We were greeted at the door with a complimentary pour. We sat outside under cover and near the band! We were here for the pick up party there were free charcuterie and everything was excellent. Wait staff is gracious, good pour. I'd bring friends here for sure.

Nestled in the hills outside Salem is a beautiful, new winery. Silverback Estate Winery is in an idyllic location overlooking the valley surrounded by the estate vineyard. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, with two fireplaces, one inside and one out. Above each is a TV for football or basketball games or whatever the occasion calls for. A central bar area is surrounded by tables. It's spacious, open, and airy, but still comfortable. The wine selections are impressive and varied, from a Sparkling Pinot Gris, which is quite nice, to a rich Cabernet. Only the Cab is not estate grown; it's outsourced from the Walla Walla valley. They have red, white, or mixed wine flights. Some of the other wines I tried were the Gamay Noir, the Pinot Noir Blanc, and the Pinot Noir. Silverback has an onsite kitchen with a limited, but delicious, menu and extended hours on some days. When I was there, I opted for the Charcuterie board, which was excellent. It was a nice mix of dried fruit, nuts, crackers, cheese, various meats and even some devilled eggs! The eggs were ridiculously delicious. My server, Kim, was knowledgeable and attentive. And I even had the good fortune on my visit to speak with winemaker, Bob, who does the "Uptown" vintages on Silverback's wine library. I will definitely be returning to Silverback soon to enjoy more great wine and different culinary options. One last thing worth mentioning is that the winery donates money from every bottle to worthy charitable organizations that benefit our animal friends (especially for Silverback Gorillas, which is where the winery gets its name).

Opps ate the charcuterie before the pic !

Great little stop! We sat by the fire during a stormy day. The whites were good. Service was friendly. Excited to go back.

Our first time to this lovely place. Gorgeous and very inviting. It was a Friday late afternoon. Many of the wineries in this area are closed on Fridays. So having this location open and open later than most- was so WONDERFUL! We sat at the bar. Great service, delicious wines and very good snack options. We cant wait to go back. Cheers

In fact I had an idea they sold it (but don't ask me how and where I got it) so it wasn't really a shot in the dark that they would have it. I got a bottle of the Wild Mead which is more floral and kind of keeps the honey flavor more present. They had plenty of other flavors... berry flavors some I think but this particular one was what I wanted. The service was friendly and I had a nice conversation with the two employees there. The mead itself was wonderful! As I said it is more of a floral flavor with the honey presence at work. Refrigerate it and you got a very refreshing and flavorful beverage to sip with at the end of the day.

I first came across their brand at some tasting rooms on the coast and the Made in Oregon store but this is the first tome going to their headquarters. They do 4 tastings for $10 and have unique varities including some west coast berries like Huckleberry, loganberry and, our favorite of the tasting, Olallieberry. The bottles are also really affordable at around $14. Service was super friendly and great about describing the different flavors.
