My daughter love this school. She has been a student here since kindergarten and is currently in 2nd grade. The school has amazing administrative staff and excellent teachers and assistants. I debated on writing a review because Ms. Sara and Mickey are great people, but I feel the need to make other parents aware of the effects this place had on my child. I will start out by saying that having Mrs. Kahn as my daughters teacher was the biggest mistake I ever made as a parent. There would be times Mrs. Kahn would say," Oh your child wouldn't sit down in circle time and would go play with the toys instead, or I know her shirt has milk and paint all over it but she got upset when I tried to change her so I left it on." The first thought that came to my mind was," Aren't you the teacher?" My child wasn't bad at all, she was just excited to be in an environment with so many stimulating things in it, and as a teacher you would think her 15+ years of experience would've taught her how to handle those situations. It's as if she was so used to having perfect children and got flustered when a child didn't listen when she told them to do something the first time. And as far as my child learning anything, she didn't learn anything from her other than how to line up and go outside. The funny thing is when I would be on break from school or had her for the holidays, I would teach her the smallest things and my daughter would catch on so fast that everyone in my family could see an improvement. Why was it that she wasn't learning anything at school when she was there 5 days a week, but as soon as I taught her something on a 3 day break all of a sudden you see improvement? I'll tell you why, it's because Mrs. Kahn was NOT paying attention to my child and paid more attention to other children and was busy begging parents to give money or food to her for the parties she always threw (as if tuition wasn't enough). If she spent more time on educating the children then planning parties, maybe the children could actually learn something. My husband also would drop our daughter off and say to me ," Does she not like our daughter? She always gives us a look like she doesn't want her there, but when other children come in, she gets excited and gives them hugs." Also you know something is wrong with a teacher when the director pulls her own grandchild out of their class, and transfers them into another teachers class. In all since leaving within 3 months my child can count to 100 and can read at 3 years old, and it's all because I taught her and took her out of that school. My advice is to anybody looking at this school, DO NOT enroll your child in her class. She's obviously more focused on throwing parties and doesn't know a thing about teaching in a structured environment. read more

We enrolled our daughter to start Pre-K in Fall 2021 and wow! Mrs. Kahn and the Silverline Montessori team have been phenomenal. Our daughter is getting a quality education and is well taken care of every day. Highly recommend! read more

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ENROLLING YOUR CHILD! Last June, during the HOTTEST month of the year, my then 1 1/2 year old was left outside on the playground by himself. I came to pick him up after work and no one knew where he was. The Teacher's Aide in his classroom was so busy tending to her end-of-day duties that she had no idea where he was. After the longest 5 mins of my life he was found sitting by himself near the slide outside. The T.A had placed him outside with another class so that she could "finish cleaning her classroom;" however did not communicate that with the other T.A. It was estimated that he had been outside in the heat for approximately 20 -25 mins by himself! My husband and I were very disappointed in the school's lack of follow up after the fact. We did not receive a phone call that evening or the following day. Finally, we received an apology email from the Regional Director of Operations - which we felt was the most insincere gesture given the situation. Eventually, she called and to add insult to injury they offered us "FREE TUITION!" - which we quickly DECLINED. Moreover, we were disheartened at the absence or lack of training and procedural methods in place to ensure our child's safety. There was no emergency plan or procedure so that staff can quickly communicate or react in an emergency situation. We withdrew our child the following day and reported the incident to the State. I am writing this review so that other parents are aware and to ensure this doesn't happen again. If you enroll your child here, PLEASE BE SURE TO ASK THEM WHAT HAS BEEN IMPLEMENTED TO ENSURE THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN TO YOUR CHILD. No parent should EVER feel the fear I felt that day. read more

We were in the process of buying a home in Pearland, so we did extensive research on various types of childcare centers (daycares, faith-based private school, Montessori, etc). My son was 2 years old and had only been in the care of family, so I was really anxious about finding a place that would care for him as well as we would. I was also pregnant with baby #2, so I was also looking for infant care in the near future. Once I toured Silverline Montessori with Ms. Sara, I got that "warm & fuzzy" feeling. It seemed to check off all the boxes: a communicative and attentive Director, chef/nutritionist prepared meals, long-tenured staff, Montessori curriculum, etc. My son soon started to attend the Montessori and things started to go downhill. First, his English was quite limited, as his grandmother was mostly caring for him, his main language was Vietnamese. I wasn't very concerned, as children are very fast learners and quite resilient. During his time at Silverline, his language and learning skills never improved. If there was any improvement, it was extremely minute. They were not giving my son the attention he needed, and moreover, I questioned the curriculum and technique. Any school can call themselves a "Montessori" without being accredited. It became evident that my son was simply attending a daycare and not a preschool. Second, they advertise in local publications and tell you during the tour that the meals are chef or nutritionist prepared/inspired. I couldn't possibly see where that is true. For breakfast, the children are served sugary cereals (Frosted flakes, Fruit Loops, & Cinnamon Toast Crunch) or pancakes soaked in syrup. I never saw any fresh fruit being served. Occasionally, I was able to peek into the kitchen when the door was open, only to see mostly canned/processed foods (ie. canned green beans, canned peaches, etc). On "celebration days" like holidays or 100 days, they would serve just junk food like cupcakes (with RED frosting!!) and Doritos. Third, communication was lacking. I was told that at my son's age, I would get daily written reports. Several months in, I never received a single one. Once I asked Ms. Sara, I would get one or two reports, but then it would stop again. This was important for me, especially since my son wasn't progressing, and because his teacher was not present when I pick up in the afternoon. Fourth, every afternoon that I picked up my son, I went on a wild goose chase all around the facility. I never knew if he was going to be in the classroom, the aftercare room (cafeteria), consolidated into another classroom, or on the playground. I would ask the staff and they'd send me here and there...It drove me absolutely nuts!! They were so disorganized! Fifth, during pick-up, I observed basically every.single.person on their phones. This is not okay and is certainly a violation that they can be cited for. They should be watching our kids, not scrolling on Instagram. I am not exaggerating. It happened every single day. Sixth, as I mentioned before, I would eventually need infant care for my second child and each day, I would walk past the infant rooms to pick up my toddler son. The babies were just lying in bouncers, on the ground, or in some other kind of baby-holding device...with no stimulation and the caregiver just sitting in the rocking chair playing on her phone. Also, they would wear shoes in the infant room, which is so unsanitary!! I also checked the DFPS Child Care Licensing site to read through the State's inspection of Silverline Montessori. There you can read the results and see every single deficiency discovered during the inspections. My observations were validated by reading this and we decided to pull my son from SIlverline. We found another great school for him, where he is thriving. I also connected with many parents there that previously attended Silverline and they had similar experiences. read more

They provide the best care and education. My child who first attended this school is now gifted and talented with mostly A's. My second child is going there and the school maintained well through the COVID pandemic. I absolutely love this school. read more

Do not enroll your child here if you want them to learn something. I thought I was bettering my 3 year old son by putting him in a "Montessori" school, but it hurt him more than anything. They provided no structure whatsoever and basically let the kids do what they wanted in the classroom. The teachers are pretty much babysitters, and I did not see any improvement with my son academically. I have 2 other friends who tried Montessori schools with their children (one in Tennessee, and the other in Houston) and they tried to warn me but I didn't listen. There are also so many children in the classroom at once that they do not get enough attention to work with the children one on one academically. Waste of money and time. read more

I started my daughter when she was 3.5 years old, and she was able to start pre-K with Miss. Daniela. If I had known the school earlier I would send her there earlier. The teachers are great. Ms. Sara and Ms. Mickey (director and assistant director) are very understanding and easy going. My daughter enjoyed her time the entire year. Then she was transferred to kindergarten with Mrs. Abdullah at age 4.5 yrs. I really appreciate the transition and the high expectation that the school gives the children. My daughter's knowledge improves significantly after she has only been to Mrs. Abdullah's kindergarten class for 3 months. She was given worksheets almost daily, and she had been taught respect and discipline. Ms. Abdullah is strict but loving. I highly recommended her and the school. Silverline Montessori in Silverlake provides easy access to teachers. You can talk to teachers about what is going on with your child. Not like Montessori of Downtown where they made it difficult to talk. read more

Being a parent, I will not allow my kids to be here. They promise so many things like making your kids learn and having activities for them but in reality many of the reviews are right; they are just babysitters. I heard the boss at the infant center only says those things and is doing otherwise. She only sets up a setting that makes the kids like they're doing something but it's just for the parents think otherwise. A lot of the babies there were sick and I would notice they will still show up the same or worst and that caused more kids to be sick and never be healthy. I will admit that they do clean a classroom pretty well but the kids need more doctor check ups and rest. I had walked in to see a kid had a fever and still showed up the next day. Find a place that will keep you away from seeing the doctor a lot and actually learn. Employees are great and loving but management can be better read more

One year ago this month, I had had enough fighting my feelings towards the "Montessori" that my son was enrolled in. It never felt right from the start and after several issues (some big some small), I decided to act on my feelings are start a search for a school that felt like family. I cannot fully verbalize the amazing sense of community and family that I have found in Silverline Montessori. This school encompasses everything I was searching for as my child's first experience away from home; everything from daily greetings by ALL staff, invitations into the classrooms to volunteer or help for celebrations, communication that does NOT have to be solicited, a curriculum that my child has been extremely receptive to, healthy food options that have helped him become more receptive to food choices at home, and the most important... the bright wonderful smile that is on my sons face when we arrive and depart. I ,unfortunately, allowed my son to endure less than a year at the other place that sadly is everything Silverline is NOT. My son has always been very aware of his surroundings and does not trust easily, his self reports on daily goings on at Silverline are always so positive whereas, at his previous school, he was always telling me things that made me feel terribly sad along with things that required in person meetings. At Silverline, he tells me the wonderful things he has learned and shocks me every day with his growing mind. He truly has soared in his education but more importantly for me, his social anxieties are almost extinct and I attribute this largely to Mrs. Khan's warm Demeanor towards the children and to each friendly greeting and interaction by EVERY staff member we pass by. At Silverline, My Child is heard, seen, and celebrated for who he is and not reprimanded and made to feel inadequate for being himself. They are the true definition of a Montessori. To say I love this school and everyone associated is an absolute understatement. My 2nd child will start next fall, and I cannot wait to see the wonderful way he blossoms as well. I have two children who have attended silverline Montessori, silverlake campus. My daughter was in Mrs. Abdullah's Kindergarten class in 2014-2105. She did not turn 5 until February, yet was allowed to start kindergarten there in the Fall of 2014. I was initially apprehensive, because I thought that she was simply not prepared to initiate a kindergarten curriculum at 4. And for the most part, she wasn't ready, but she was encouraged and high expectations were placed on her by Ms. Abdullah and Ms. Jessica. She completed Kindergarten reading and doing mathematics at a late 1st, early second grade level. She was challenged, engaged, and thrived beyond our expectation. I know that she is extremely well prepared for a lifelong initiation into academic learning. We have since moved further into Pearland, but have decided to pass up several nearby childcare centers, to keep our youngest child (who is only 17 months) at the Silverlake campus. Our commuting sacrifice is well worth the expectation of having her in Ms. Abdulla's kindergarten class, so that she can receive the excellent education and preparation that our other daughter received. Mrs. Abdullah is stern, yet loving. She is dedicated and committed to seeing her students flourish. She is exactly what our child needed; she has been taught respect and a strong unyielding desire to perform to her greatest potential. I am beyond grateful and appreciative for what this school, and the teachers there have given to our children. read more
