As I sought clarification, she sharply interrupted me and accused me of "having an attitude". This is a tried and true micro aggression that she had no problem throwing around which shows she felt she had the right to control my tone all while hers was one of disrespect and condescension. When I attempted to express my confusion, Ms. Conn's response was to rashly announce that she would "just take him off our list." Throughout our conversation, Ms. Conn wielded her words and tone like a weapon, showcasing an unsettling display of privilege and power. As the school leader, we expected her to foster a sense of collaboration and partnership in the enrollment process, bridging the gap between families, students, and other school stakeholders. Instead, we encountered an individual who took pleasure in her gatekeeping role, someone who reveled in the ability to dictate, limit, and control access. Ms. Conn's entire attitude was unarguably condescending, her demeanor cold, and her empathy was nowhere to be found. We consider ourselves fortunate that we could glimpse her true nature before we made the mistake of entrusting our son's education and emotional well-being to her. Zero stars.

As much as I wanted to like this school because of the initial tour (which is gonna be the only…read moretimes that you might ever see a director or the owners) and the proximity to us, the experience for us was disappointing on many levels. We left three years ago after several months of enrollment, yet I STILL have negative feelings about our time there and unfortunately, I continue to hear from others about some of the same issues. I was initially very enthusiastic about Mariner and even recommended it to two friends, both of whom stayed And were quite happy. In my case unfortunately, things did not work out and turned unpleasant quickly. In my son's class, one wonderful teacher left, followed shortly by the other. Within a short period of time, the class went from a teacher-to-child ratio of approximately 1:8 to 1:22 children. The replacement teachers who showed up over night were very young, no native English speakers and without credentials or experience I would expect from teachers responsible for so many young children. More concerning to me were the safety issues. On two occasions, my son came home with unexplained bruises. The second incident ultimately led me to withdraw. I received him back with a huge bruise, and no one at the school could explain how it happened! Two days later was then told that he 'had a habit of rubbing his head against the carpet'--something he had never seen before and I have never seen since. During my meeting with the director, it became obvious that someone was not watching my son and he got injured, but they were not clear about how it happened. Do not send your child here! We immediately withdrew and while Ms Jenny and Ms Pat handled the situation courteously and refunded tuition and deposit without delays, the experience left me deeply concerned. During the time my son was enrolled, there was also an extraordinary amount of staff turnover. Several teachers who had left stayed in touch with us and told us they had left because of poor working conditions and low pay ($13/hr). There was also a woman at the front door (Ms Jessica 2021-2023) who was consistently rude and made morning drop-off unpleasant for families. She was eventually replaced only after she moved to New York. Another thing that always bothered me was the overwhelming smell of cleaning chemicals. I understand and appreciate the importance of cleanliness, but my son would often come home smelling strongly of Fabuloso. It was so strong that I found myself wondering whether the school was relying too heavily on chemicals rather than using more thorough cleaning methods such as deep or steam cleaning. I genuinely dreaded that smell when I picked him up. To make a long story short, there are better options out there. After leaving Mariner Montessori, we enrolled our son at Children's Village in West University, and our experience there was absolutely wonderful year after year. Mariner Montessori was a very difficult experience for us, and unfortunately, even years later, I still have not forgotten it. I heard a similar concerns from another parent, and finally decided it was important to share my experience as well. I hope this helps other families make an informed decision. Each school has their pros and cons.

We started looking for a daycare / montessori when my son was 15 months. We were worried because he…read morehad not been around people much other than his parents and grandparents. He also had a ton of allergies - milk, seafood, and tree nuts. We visited over 7 schools for him and read every single review for each of the places. We were most impressed with Primrose. Miss Natalie was professional and patient with us during our tour as we asked question after question. I also loved their system of having every kids picture in the classroom with their allergies listed next to their face. They seemed very organized. When we started, our son would still cry at drop off and took longer than most kids to adjust but the school helped us through it. The teachers were loving and looked out for our son and I would literally call every 1-2 hours and ask for an update and they would often send a photo through the portal when I did. About 6 months into our time there, we started Oral Immunotherapy for our son's milk allergy. As a part of that, we were able to trial and error small portions of foods that contained milk. Every Monday, Miss Kari and I still go through the weekly menu and talk through what foods my son should try for the week and what portions. Now my son has overcome his milk allergy and the school was a huge help in getting us there. Other praises I'll sing: even though kiddos can switch classes every 6 months - 1 yearish, the teachers are so phenomenal that neither our son or us have had a hard time with the transitions, they were seamless. He also was behind on walking and his vocabulary when he started and both improved dramatically when he started. Now he goes into school with a smile on his face and talks about his teachers and his friends at home. It's a home away from home for him. Great job Primrose!

After just six weeks at Pearland Parkway, we ultimately decided it was not the right fit for our family. If the administrative staff or management had reached out to ask why we were leaving, we would have shared that we simply did not get the same positive feeling or level of care that we experienced at our previous Primrose. While the teachers seemed nice, our son cried every day at drop-off for all six weeks, which was very unusual compared to our experience at his previous location. We also noticed several differences in the overall organization, communication, and security. There was never a staff member consistently at the front desk monitoring foot traffic in the mornings. His first day was disorganized, we weren't provided with the necessary door/pass codes, and there was confusion about whether we owed a payment. We later ended up being double-charged. We also had several experiences that were concerning to us, including seeing the front desk staff member applying makeup in the back office while we were leaving and, on another occasion, finding the front door propped open. When I mentioned the open door and if she wanted me to close it , the response was simply, "Oh yeah," rather than it seeming to be recognized as a potential security concern. Another major difference was the lack of personal connection. At our previous Primrose, staff knew our names and our son's name and always made us feel welcomed. At Pearland Parkway, no one seemed to know our names or our son's name, and when we left, no one asked why we were leaving or even said goodbye. We also noticed that many of the classroom toys appeared old and worn. Overall, the level of care, attention, organization, security, and personal connection we experienced at our previous Primrose was simply not the same at this location. We truly wanted this location to work for our family, but after six weeks, we knew it wasn't the right fit. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and uses it as an opportunity to improve. Our experience at another Primrose location showed us what a wonderful daycare experience can look like, and unfortunately, we did not experience that same level of care at Primrose Pearland Parkway.

One of its advantages is that children aren't confined to the same classroom all day. The teachers are exceptional (shout out to Miss Olga, Miss B, Mis Cha Cha, Miss Renee, Mis Naiely...). Every day they come up with thoughtful, creative activities that make learning fun and keep the children engaged. You can tell how much time, dedication, and love goes into everything they do. Our son started here without speaking a single word of English. Thanks to the patience, kindness, and encouragement of his teachers, he not only learned the language but also felt safe, happy, and at home from day one. He was genuinely excited to go to school every morning, and as parents, that's the greatest recommendation we can give. Now he is really sad to go. We have been so surprised at how independent and outgoing our kids have become since starting at CHMS. We had to relocate from Houston, and of all the things we'll miss, CHMS tops the list. My final straw was witnessing my daughter's hair being pulled and her being dragged down without any acknowledgment or apology from Natalie, one of the Directors . It was alarming to see such an incident go unnoticed by the staff, and it left me questioning why my daughter seems to dread going to school. The lack of communication and accountability is deeply concerning, especially when it comes to the safety and well-being of the children. It's disheartening to be met with smiles while legitimate concerns are overlooked. I believe addressing these issues, including the staff-to-child ratio and the need for better communication and supervision. I am deeply concerned that if one of the directors has the audacity to speak to me in such a dismissive manner, then they may also have the power to influence how teachers handle parental concerns. It's troubling to think that legitimate worries expressed by parents could be overlooked or dismissed by those in positions of authority. A culture of dismissiveness from leadership can trickle down and affect how staff members interact with parents and address concerns. It's essential for the daycare's management to foster an environment of respect, accountability, and open communication, starting from the top down. Parents entrust their children's well-being to the daycare, and it's imperative that this trust is respected and upheld at all levels of the organization.
