Dr. Bruce Albert is the Cadillac of dentists. if you live in Lebanon, you should really be going to…read moresee him. of course, i may be a bit biased - he was my first dentist, been going to him since i was 3 - and he lives a mere half mile from both of my childhood homes in Lebanon. but i don't think it's bias, as i've been blessed with crap teeth, so i've seen a lot of dentists in my time, mostly in Philadelphia (where i currently live). none of them hold a candle to Dr. Albert's practice. excellent and friendly staff, speedy service, great bedside manner and just mad dentistry skillz. i was in for a bunch of cavities yesterday, and he was efficient (had me out in an hour and a half), friendly (we chatted about our favorite Philly landmarks), and judicious with the Novocain (carefully numbing me so i barely felt it when the needle went in). he was kind enough to take digital before and after pictures of my cavities. they looked stunning, which is a weird word to use for dental work, but when i saw the finished product i exclaimed he was an artist. his practice is really full, from what i understand, that it took me a full six months to get a cleaning. but once you're in, the lag time isn't nearly as much.

The worst dental experience for my child. My child was never…read moreafraid of dentists. We had teeth removed and fillings done. She would let her doctor numb her without a problem and then she would seat for 2 hours with her mouth open, because our dentist in Europe is a perfectionist and I love the fact that he cares. Well this time we were in USA and we were not planning to go to Europe any time soon. My daughter's tooth started aching. We decided to see Dr. Barton at Lebanon Family Dentistry. After checking the tooth he suggested to extract it. (As I learned later it wasn't necessary, but he didn't say it was, he just didn't offer any other option). We agreed. He gave her a numbing shot and immediately pulled the tooth out. She was screaming as he was pulling and the assistant was reassuring me that it didn't hurt. (Well, I KNOW MY CHILD!!!!). She broke into fever a few minutes later. I felt so bad for her. 2 years later and she still remembers how painful that was and the worst part is she is so afraid of going to her old dentist in Europe who she used to like going to. Last time when he was working on her it took him over 1 hour to convince her to open her mouth. I hope she recovers from such an awful experience soon. Two things I noticed about American dentists: 1. They will find just enough issues in your mouth to drain your insurance; 2. It is not about quality, it is about quantity with them. They are always rushing to the next patient even if it takes to pull a tooth that didn't get numb yet...

When this issue was discussed with the office manager I was treated rudely and my complaints were dismissed. In fact the manager falsely claimed the fees were discussed with me. I find this gaslighting insufferable. My suspicion is they elevate their fee for insurance payments. However, when you are paying out of pocket you get stuck with the entire fee. I would not trust this practice with your health or your wallet.

I left feeling pressured into making an expensive treatment decision without enough information or time to think about it. After the appointment, I requested my X-rays and had them reviewed by other dental professionals, who told me they did not see evidence of gum disease requiring a deep cleaning based on the imaging provided. That completely changed my confidence in the recommendation I was given. What concerns me most is that several other reviews describe similar experiences involving aggressive treatment recommendations and pressure. Whether intentional or not, the experience caused me to lose trust in this office. If you feel uncomfortable with a major dental recommendation, I strongly encourage getting a second opinion before agreeing to treatment.
