We came here on a weekday around lunchtime. Figured we were close to the ocean so the sushi should be good, right? Bad assUMEption. The service was quick and the server was nice. We decided to order one bowl to see how the first was and then order another if the fish was good. What we swallowed: *CHIRASHI SUSHI: It looked promising but .. looks can be deceiving. The taste was mediocre and I can only explain it as... I've had better grocery store sushi then this. Some parts was chewy and definitely not fresh. Would NOT recommend coming here. Good food, no fishy smell, fresh and fast. The sashimi is a test for me, it was very fresh and a reasonable price. Large menu to choose from

We stopped by there after taking a trip to see the whirlpools and rapids. The place is clean, and the food came out relatively quickly. However, the food itself wasn't that great. The water they brought out was tap water, which is normally fine, but it was lukewarm at best. The sushi was mediocre and the rice tasted a little old and chewy. The fried noodles weren't wonderful and had only a few measly pieces of chicken on it. All the non-sushi dishes we got were around $15 but when they came out they were about half the size of a similarly priced plate that we got at a much better Korean restaurant in the heart of Banff (an expensive tourist town). Not the worst place I've ever been to, but not worth going back to. read more

Its terrible what has happened to this place it used to be my favourite place to go til they served me hard frozen sashimi. You could take your chopsticks grab a side and bend it up and it would stay in a 90 degrees angle. Then I ask for a different plate of the same stuff but for raw fish it's like they ran it under a warm tap cause when they served me the same dish I ordered, I put half a piece in my mouth and it was very warm and slimy. GROSS . If your looking for samonila poisoning that's the place to go if you get sashimi. Some of the rolls are still not bad but the heart and soul of that place has left the building. So, my partner and I were on our way to Halfmoon Bay, and decided to stop here for a quick bite to eat I ordered the pork cutlet meal, and she ordered sushi, and some rolls The service was prompt, and the server was friendly. Gave us advice on what to see in the area Pork cutlet was pretty good. Don't waste your money there! This was the worst sushi that we eat so far! We couldn't see salmon there, so small. The sushi was so thin as well. There was a lot of signs all of over the walls saying no public washroom, it seems the owners are very cheap. So sad because is the only sushi there, they could have a lot of customers if they wanted it to :( read more

We used to enjoy this place and looked forward to taking our out of town friends there. What a terrible mistake. There were five of us and our orders came out one at a time over the course of 90 MINUTES. When the last person was served (after 1.5 hours of waiting) he couldn't eat it because it was terrible so we stopped at a fast food place to get him something to eat. The sushi was slimy and far from fresh. Our first waitress disappeared halfway through the evening and I think they forgot the balance of our meal. Our only recourse was to NOT leave a tip. We will NEVER go there again. We run a retail business in Sechelt and will make a point of telling those who ask us for a restaurant recommendation -- DO NOT GO TO SIMA SUSHI. read more

Meh is all I can say. Basic stuff not cooked way too greasy, love fish scallops were fishy smelling I wouldn't eat them and it put me off of any thing else I might have eaten. It's a shame . Maybe their soup would be good. read more

Went to this location for dinner recently. The restaurant was fairly empty, yet it took over five minutes to get menus. The server came by and tossed menu's on our table walking away very quickly. She didn't ask us if we wanted anything to drink. We decided what we wanted to order, and we waited and waited for our server to come back. After waiting about 7 minutes with no sign of our server, we left. This was by far some of the worst "service" I have ever had. I won't be going back to this location. read more

They have an extensive menu of interesting rolls. We tried four different ones. Two were great and two were ok. Unfortunately the tuna sashimi was served frozen. When we mentioned it to our server we got a short apology but was offered nothing else to amend. We actually ordered our 4th roll to wait for the sashimi to thaw. Left disappointed. read more

The food here is good. The real standout here is the service. Every time I go here they are just superb. The last time we went we didn't even realize that they were not open yet. They said to come on in and served us promptly with a smile. They are also great with toddlers and our guy loves to go here for sushi. For the staff and service I can't recommend this place much higher. The food is good, had better but very good. read more

WORST SERVICE EVER!!! We have ordered take out from here before and it's been good so we ordered again. Bad decision. I was in the room when my husband said "the mixed tempura...is that the one with prawns? It is..ok I'll have that too." When he returned from picking up the take out we discovered no tempura and some piece of sushi with fish eggs on it that we didn't order. My husband called right away and had the most frustrating and confusing phone call with a woman with very broken English. She had no idea what he was talking about, said she could not find our order and was not apologetic or helpful whatsoever. My husband said he was going to drive back there to get the tempura and that he wasn't paying as they had screwed up our order. When he arrived back at sima he was told he wasn't getting the tempura and the staff were rude and never once uttered an apology. We will NEVER order from here again. Consistently good, and we eat here very regularly. Especially like the Love Fish, the orange avocado salad and the Lake Forest Roll. The service has always been friendly and quick. Just be aware that a 'spicy' roll is actually quite spicy! read more
