Russ (I believe that was his name) was an amazing individual. He took care of my dad exceptionally well from his room and unto their service car. He did this all by himself. He was a very compassion and kind person. We had to provide an urn since they do not carry one. A week later, Russ gave us a call for us to pick up dad. Their rooms are beautiful, rather large, and smell lovely. They have rooms off to the side for privacy with comfortable chairs and sofas in them. Their funeral services offered went flawlessly and they have a basement where you can put food for your guests attending your wake. They section it off if they have several wakes that day/night and label it so each group knows what food to take. They have a very large parking lot and are very reasonably priced. Especially when young kids are mourning the loss of a loved one this is a nice place with people who work there who do not seem to have their nose up in the air or to be curt with children.

This was just before smart phones were out so I used a phone book and Theis Gorski was the one place that answered and said they'd send someone over. If I remember right a guy named Steve (with loads of dandruff on his dark suit) showed up. I remember it being a father/son business and my dealing were with the father, again I think his name was Shawn. He was very nice and knew nothing about how to go about things. He was patient and calm which help me with my grief. My mom was to sent outta state to be buried by her mother out East. They made all arrangements. They made my look wonderful. If I'm still in Cho when I die I hope to go this place. Couldn't have asked for nicer ppl. All places like this I'm assuming are nice but possibly not...I just don't know. It might be petty but I took out 1 star bc when I saw my mom there was a visible hole in the side of her neck and that memory has always stayed with me Overall I WOULD recommend this place....hope the same ppl are still working here.

But, NH Scott & Hanekamp truly went above and beyond to help my family say a proper goodbye to our loved one who passed unexpectedly. Prior to picking NH Scott, my family called and visited several other funeral homes in the area. From our very first interaction, it was clear that NH Scott was superior. During our initial meeting with Justyne, it was evident she was focused on making us comfortable and making sure we knew what to expect during each step of the process (as opposed to being more focused on the business or contractual aspects of the arrangements). This is why we chose NH Scott initially, and we couldn't be happier that we did. Our initial impression proved to be very accurate. Justyne and the other owners and employees, including Jon, continued to provide a high-level of customer service and emotional support throughout the entire process. The family is currently on the West Coast and the memorial would be in the Chicago suburbs. Melissa Nelson was patient and compassionate as I called for information regarding a death half way across the country. She provided details on what Meadows could provide and also offered alternative solutions for us which wouldn't even result in revenue for her. To me, this is a sign of a true professional looking out for the best interests of the client. She also made any expenses that might be incurred very clear as she understands that many times families aren't prepared for the expense. Ultimately, due to size constraints, we were unable to use Meadows, but I absolutely recommend Meadows Funeral Home and Melissa.
