Greetings Jay, I would like to let you know that after a short consideration, we decided to keep my wedding ring instead of pursuing a new ring as you offered yesterday to replace or mitigate the fact that my original ring was reshaped by over sanding, over polishing and removing the middle/center gold texture. The ring that I received is lighter, meaning material, gold, was removed in excess from all angles. This is my wedding ring, which I am being wearing for 30 years now, and it breaks my heart, because in a way the sense I had wearing my dear wedding ring is gone. Your smith guy is really quick at sanding and poshing heavily and that of course produce workbench earnings. Because I do not think you dispose such valuables in other way. I am sure you do not want to replace it with a new ring, losing $3000 as you stated. Probably the ring will be disappointing for me and with less quality than the one I bought 30 years ago. I am not asking for any refunds at all. I think I made a mistake trusting you with such important and intimated pieces of my wedding memories. I really recommend this place. I actually met Jay and his family while I was working. His wife's beautiful jewelry caught my attention we had a brief conversation and I found out they were the Simmons. I went to their establishment a few days later because I was looking for a grooms gift. Jay his wife, son Blake and all the associates were so polite. They offered to clean my engagement ring and bracelet while I shopped. They were very helpful and helped me pick out an amazing watch for my soon to be husband. In December 2022 we came to Simmons and spent a couple thousand dollars. In February we had a ring re-designed and were working through the process of a 6-7 carat custom piece. After the design process we decided to look at our options with another jeweler due to the pricing of the ring. I supplied most of the diamonds! When we returned to pick up the jewelry and design work, we were informed that we would not be receiving our design, wax ring, or a refund. They answered all of my questions and were very understanding of what I was after. We had a less than pleasant experience at Simmons today. To start, we had a hard time getting service to begin with. Perhaps because we look too normal, in our mid 20s and middle class. When we were finally helped, my fiancé tried on several watches. When he went to remove a watch, the owner, Jay, aggressively grabbed my Fiancés wrist and forcefully flipped it over to remove the watch. A simple verbal correction on how to remove the watch would have sufficed, there was no need for physical aggression from Jay. In addition, considering the current health crisis, physical involvement should be avoided at all cost. This is just one of several instances where we felt disrespected and insulted. We simply wanted to shop for something nice for each other and were met with aggression, disrespect, and belittlement. I will not support this business due to these actions and advise anyone reading this to do the same. After reading other reviews, it is clear we are not the only ones who have experienced extremely inappropriate interactions from Jay and the staff and Simmons. Couldn't tell if the jewelry was great or not, because we only spent a couple of minutes in the shop before leaving. We pulled up in a Jeep and had street clothes on, so I guess we are street bums. The service was insulting from the minute we walked in, don't try to explain what you want without the correct jargon or the staff will roll eyes with some attitude for trying to explain what you wanted. We even stayed longer to see the collection, but it only got worse! We already had other engagement rings picked out, so their loss. Service was so horrible I had to write this. My family and I had a similar experience with Simmons Jewelry. I recommended Simmons because I was apparently under the impression that it was the best jewelry business in the valley. Boy was that a mistake. My daughter was getting married and I presented her with my mother's wedding band. It needed to be sized down. The first point of contact was with a young man, who apparently didn't know what he was doing. We told him what we would like to do and he gave us a look of "why would you want to wear this...." He too rolled his eyes and looked at the ring as if it came from a candy machine. Then Jay Simmons appeared, he too was just as rude, condescending, and made the remark to my future son-in-law "why would you give her this, she clearly likes bling, look at her watch..." We should have left at that point, but we didn't. Mistake. They fudged around with the sizing, which I find very odd today, but nonetheless, they took the ring. The ring was to be sized to a 6 1/2, with any metal that was cut out to be given back to us. When we picked up the ring, it appeared to fit, but was snug. My daughter thought it was just that her fingers were swollen. No help from the salesperson, he couldn't get us out fast enough. We paid and went on our way. Later that day my daughter said she thinks the ring is too small. I cried. We went to another jewelry store and explained our situation and they sized the ring....it was cut down to 5!!!!! Really Simmons, fine jewelry? I think not. My husband wouldn't let me go back to Simmons because, I was so upset over what they had done to my mother's wedding ring. The other jewelry fixed the ring, at no charge. I will not recommend going to Simmons Jewelry. NEVER. In addition, my son-in-law was looking at a Tungsten ring for his band. Jay Simmons, said, "why would you want to buy that, it will just break..." Well, my son-in-law purchased a Tungsten from another jewelry and he works with his hands all day. Happy to say, it is still in tack and going strong. It appears Simmons Jewelry (I leave out the "fine" on purpose) focus is to sell only over-priced jewelry for which they feel is what the customer wants or need. Dismissing family heirlooms as trash. I took My wedding ring of 18yrs in, It had a couple broken prongs. The gentleman that helped me, talked me into adding some additional gold to the side of my ring, in addition to fixing the prongs. He told me, my ring would look "brand new" when it was done. Unfortunately when I went to pick it up, the repair was less than acceptable. To the naked eye,the gold was very thick and bumpy on one side The gentleman helping me, told me it was supposed to look like that... I disagreed, and asked them to please fix it. After going back three times, the gold still wasn't right and the size of the ring had changed. When I asked about the size, the gentleman told me they did nothing to the size and could make it right for an additional charge. After paying almost $400 and going back for the 3rd time, there was another woman complaining about the work done on her ring. I decided to cut my losses and go to another jewelry store. I've been a customer of Simmons for around 20 years and it is the best jewelry store in the Treasure Valley. I would give them 5 stars, but I am going to be fair and deduct one because there are times that different sales people don't always have a complete understanding of what to do. That being said, I understand there are new people that are in training and I know it takes time to figure out how everything works when you are dealing with custom design, fit, etc. Not many stores in this area are good with custom jewelry but Simmons can do about anything! I prefer nice quality jewelry, therefore I do not shop at bargain stores (mall shops, pawn shops, etc.) that typically have low quality items. If you are shopping for quality jewelry that will last and be beautiful then this is the place to be. They have the biggest and nicest selection of good jewelry as well as having goldsmiths on hand. Over the years I have sent many people in and they have been able to get what they are looking for. I read the other 2 reviews and I'm sorry about their bad experience, but my friends, family, and I have never had an issue.
