I had several dealerships to choose from as I was searching for new/cert used car. I ended up here bc jeep was exactly what I needed. The experience has certainly changed thru my years. I didn't go in haggling and stupid me let my guard down just to get a deal done. The credit app/ process imo is less than straight forward as they present you with " options" on your payments ( they initially DO NOT show you the payments WITHOUT some form of EXTRA warranty on it) When I declined any warranty I was hounded by credit manager for next 10 mins and basically he insinuated how careless I was being for not choosing any! Upon arriving home I noticed various things I needed to repair ( wiper blades were falling off, fog lamp burned out , and now realized NO spare OR jack/ lug wrench at all!) People, maybe it's just me but for a 3 yr old jeep that has the SIMMONS ROCKWELL name on license plate frames ( oh yeh and NO license bracket on front!) and emblem on car you would think they could do a complete check for these NECESSITIES!! They probably got a good 1500-2000 profit on me and already will cost me another $250 to pay for these things since I've yet to hear back from them. Be careful read more

For the service department: How do you go about half-ass fixing a truck, and letting people almost drive off in it knowing it's a ticking time bomb? We broke down in town and were towed to this dealership. Big mistake. We should have taken the waitress's advice and taken our vehicle to the Dodge dealership in town. They refused to order ALL of the parts necessary (including the fuel injector lines that my BF TOLD them to get...just in case.) They gave us some crap about being too busy and we had to stay overnight. Next day, we come in early and are sitting around until 3:30 PM when they tell us the truck is ready. We get in and all we smell is gasoline...which wasn't smelling like that even when we towed it in. Plus, the check engine light was on. AFTER the guy had been test driving it for like 20 minutes, which, who the hell does that? They tell us they'll take it back in, and that we need to wait ANOTHER day, even though they told us that the problem was now the fuel lines that they DID NOT order and DID NOT have in stock, despite us telling them that we wanted them to order them just in case. The next morning, they changed the story, told us they couldn't have he parts for another two days. At this point, we lose it. My BF demanded to see the truck and the service manager didn't want to let him see it for like 10 minutes. Excuse me? This is our truck. Long story short, we get the truck back, they refunded us, we drove 6 hours round trip to get the part we needed, fixed it ourselves and are back on the road. Oh, and we got it done faster with LESS tools and less resources. Fuck. You. They also drained our AC of freeon, took everything out of the front of the truck and conveniently forgot to tell us. DO NOT BRING ANYTHING TO THIS SERVICE DEPARTMENT. read more

For the service department ONLY: When I bought my vehicle from Simmons, I also purchased their service plan which included free oil changes and free inspections. I work 3rd shift, so I make my appointment for as soon as they open, so I can get it done and go home and get some sleep. I have waited over 2 hours for an inspection on numerous occasions. It is ridiculous that when you make an appointment, so your the first one of the day and you have to wait over 2 hours for an inspection that should not take more than 30 minutes. I DO understand that things take longer sometimes, but when your vehicle has nothing wrong with it, a normal inspection, then it shouldn't take 2 damn hours. read more

This place is horrible. Contacted by a salesman after showing interest in 3 different vehicles on their website. I informed him I had a trade. We set up an appointment. He assured me the vehicles would be there for me to check out for my appointment and we could appraise my vehicle at that time to start the dealing process. Sounds normal, right? After an hour drive on my day off, I arrive at the dealership. Parking next to a vehicle similar to one of the three I was there to look at, I'm greeted by the salesman. He informs me of bad news pointing to the vehicle I parked next to as if it was the one I came to look at and that it had just sold right before I got there. (The one I had an appointment to see). My response of telling him that it wasn't the the one I came to look at anyway because it was a different trim package (sxt vs. gt) than the one we were dealing on didn't change a thing as he was already getting numbers off my trade and heading me in a different direction. I asked to see the other vehicles I requested. He told me they weren't able to be seen because they weren't in the system yet. He then proceeded to try and push a vehicle on me from the lot that had nothing of the features I informed him of that I required as far as what I wanted from the beginning. One last stop... inside to check out the computer. We checked all the Simmons and Rockwell lots for anything that might fit the bill. I asked if they were legit vehicles? Or were they "not in the system" yet? ... just in case we found the right one. Turns out, I was there for a real car and not a make believe one. Next insult... the finance guy.... he sits down across from me to present me with his number magic. He worked out on paper the deal if it would have went down IF they would have had the vehicle there (1 of the 3) that was supposed to have been there. My trade in its condition and mileage Kelly Blue Book or NADA - low book $15125. They offered $11000. Simmons and Rockwell... the stereotypical car dealership. But... if you want to waste your time chasing down imaginary vehicles and giving away your trade... this is your place! read more

He went to pick up a truck over 2 hours away and brought it back the same day for me. In the end, there was a hiccup, and Matt worked through my concern with me and I ended up leaving with a new F150. He spent 4+ hours on the road, stayed late and got the deal done. Service department review only. First off, let me say I'm sorry that I ever came here to repair my 2013 Ford F-150. It sprung a fuel leak on top of the engine between the fire wall and motor where I couldn't see the problem. So I reluctantly brought it to Ford. I'm 2600 miles from home and I'm not comfortable tearing my top end apart on a truck I've owned 3 weeks while on vacation passing through a random town. So I have the truck towed in and they tell me it might not get done today. Ok. Then I wait till the end of day in the waiting room. Still not done nor supposedly even taken apart, but they say the problem is the injector bushings. So I tell the man to order the fuel lines as well so they can all be replaced at the same time. He argues with me to say, "I won't know if those are the problem until I tear it apart". Well, I still insisted that the fuel lines get ordered as well so they can be replaced too, just in case for my better safety and so I don't run into a problem in the near future. He argued some more with me and still didn't want to order the parts. So here I am the next day. Almost end of day after a terrible nights sleep in a beat down hotel across the street that's in the process of being remodeled that I walked to with my family. So morning hammers and construction noise. Now it's about 4:00pm and the truck is finally done. I pay over $1100 for these little bushings to be replaced. My truck smells terribly like fuel inside when it didn't smell at all when I brought it in. It's very slow to start unlike it was before the leak, it used to fire right up. Now I walk in to question them about it. The guy comes out and also notices my check engine light. So now the mechanic takes it back to check on it. They find it's a low fuel pressure problem and now have to start over by taking it apart again. And this is after the mechanic supposedly test drove the truck for at least 20 minutes. So why is it that he thought nothing of the horrible fuel smell in my truck either, or the fact that it takes almost 6 seconds to fire it up now? He must be incompetent! So by this time my family & I are starving so I asked for a loaner car. We go get food & come back by 5:30pm to be told that it's the fuel line that now needs to be replaced!!! Do you hear that? The fuel line that I had told the service manager to order and replace anyway is now the problem. I nearly lost my mind about it because now I have to stay another night in a town I never intended on being in because the idiot didn't do what I told him to do in the first place! The only reason why I was trying to be calm was because the coward left his kind employee behind so he didn't have to face me himself! So to sum it up... I'm stuck with an incompetent service department that did less of a job than I could've done and I'm Not a professional mechanic at a Ford dealership. I had to ask for a loaner car instead of being offered one while they see us carrying all of our stuff to go sleep somewhere even though they knew I lived 1000's of miles away and I'm stuck in a town I've never been nor do I know anyone around here. Sitting in a waiting room all day isn't as much fun as you'd think either. Thanks for nothing guys! Now, I call in the morning on the third day to see how long it'll take and the manager tells me to come see him. I get there and he immediately wants to tell me that he's not sure he can get it done but come talk to him in a private conference room. I say no thanks let me see my truck and show me what the problem is. After he argues with me about that too, I insist and he finally gets the mechanic and goes to show me the line that needs to be replaced. Which is Exactly what I told him to replace 2 days ago. And I let him know that too. So now here's the problem. He says it's not for sure if it'll be here today or tomorrow but it's coming from Michigan. So I said I'll go get it wherever it is faster than it'll be shipped. So he says he doesn't want to fix my truck anymore now because I'd rather go get the part to ensure it's here faster and he demands to give me a refund and send me on my way. I obliged and took my truck down the street to get a rental. So I'll be repairing my own vehicle properly. read more

I purchased a car here in feb 2014. Had to come home for a family emergency. Decided I wanted a new ford. They've changed so much. The minute I walked through the door they tried to force me into a credit app before even test driving. They then told me that ford credit wouldn't finance me (without running a credit app based on my last loan). They then tried to tell me that a 2015 was 2000 more than a 2016. Very disappointing experience. Had my oil changed and they didn't even fill my washer fluid or check my wipers. Never again! read more

I came to Simmons Rockwell to look at Fords/GMC and Chevy trucks, not knowing which one I wanted. I was approached by a Salesman named Matt Trowbridge. Matt gave me the run down on all three brands, and continued to show me Fords in the price range I told him. He was very imformative and had a great personality. He was not pushy and great to be around. He went out of his way to make sure I had all my questions answered and saw everything I wanted to see. Matt did not rush me or pressure me into a decison. Leaving and going home to think about what I wanted to do. Lucky for me, the next day, Matt and I agreed on a deal. Between Josh and Matt, My return to do paperwork was very easy. I purchased the F-150 Ecoboost for my husband, who will be home from Italy in one week. I must say, Matt Trowbridge was professional, personable and a saleman that I would go back to. He did a great job and should be awarded for his wonderful customer service. Simmons Rockwell should be happy to have a person like Matt representing their company. The only thing that was wrong with the whole transaction was when I arrived to get the truck, I noticed a dent near the door handle. Matt came out and looked and assured me that it would be taken care of Monday or Tuesday. I can not give a review on that until next week. Corey, the salesman was quite friendly but did not share a number of things with us. As we were signing paperwork the stipulation that cars were sold as is came up.We were NOT told that we had to take a car that was damaged and/or dented.(This did have some damage and dents)We were NOT told this by Corey, tho, we were quite thankful and appreciative that the dealership agreed to push out one dent when asked after we discovered several dents in the car. As we were signing the paperwork we were told that if there is only one key then we are responsible to get another. We were NOT told this by Corey. C.J. began telling us that Simmons puts the electronic rust prevention systems on cars. He made it sound like that came with the car. Then told us a lovely story how his family had a 20 year old car that was only now beginning to rust because of the electronic rust prevention system. We then asked for further clarification and he said no, it had to be purchased. Initially he led us to believe that it came as part of the sale of the car. Corey also did not explain any of the features of the car to my son who was the recipient of the car. He did not ask if our son had any questions about any features of the car. I DO not know Corey at all but as a salesperson he needs to work on his skills in regards to full disclosure and helpfulness. We were pleased with the price of the car and do know that it was the best price for that make and model with the mileage that we could have gotten locally. read more

We test drove a used truck on Saturday 7/28/12 and called the following Monday to let the salesman know we were on our way (1 hour drive one way). When we got there the salesman met us in the parking lot to tell us the truck was being test driven by someone else and before we knew what happened.. it was sold! We were livid. We were lied to, we were mislead and when the manager came to talk to us he literally said "first come first serve." What the *** does that mean? We were the first! If I don't live next door to Simmons-Rockwell you'll just sell a vehicle out from under us? And, someone told the other couple what happened because our 14 yr old daughter over heard the woman say "I feel so guilty. They drove so far." They should have held the truck for us. They should have told the other couple if for some reason we didn't buy it, they could attempt to do so.. they should have offered to find us a comparable truck, given us gas money for our time and trouble and many a gift card for dinner. Then perhaps we would have considered looking at other vehicles with them. So, when they call me to tell me the sale fell through with the kids who were buying it.. I will tell them to go to *** and take their truck with them. We will never give them our business again and we'll tell everyone we know about what happened. This is a little old, but I feel compelled to make my experience known. I bought my current vehicle from Simmons-Rockwell Ford in Hornell in December of 2008. I bought a 2005 Chevy Malibu. It is still running well, 5 years later, with minimal money put into it, however, I've put on less than 30,000 miles in 5 years. Anyway, about the dealership, I really have some reservations about dealing with these guys again. As soon as I pulled out of the parking lot, the rear mirror came unglued. They did fix it after a little hassle. I also requested an owner's manual so I can see various DIY stuff about the car (ex volume of oil, fuse diagram). It's been 5 years, I'm still waiting. Most disappointing is that there were two similar models of this car at the same price, with the difference in mileage of being like 15,000 miles. One vehicle had remote start. I picked the Malibu with the remote start. I picked it up from the dealership and it had a standard key. The salesman said the remote start is there, just not on that key. 5 years later, still no remote start. I definitely feel once the sale was made, I was not of interest anymore. Never heard back from Simmons-Rockwell. This place will be the last car place I shop in town due to these reasons. They have some great cars and overall, my car is in good shape and it's a good buy, but that's because of the car; the dealership was shady. read more
