If I could give Zero I would. I have a 2016 Chevrolet equinox with under 100,000 miles. It DOES have a rebuilt title from a side impact collision, but that has been fully repaired. Inspected and cleared (just to be clear). Around February I had the Rear Main seal burst, got it to Simms Chevrolet Service department. They fixed it, charged me around 2,000$ and said I was good to go. Then, I'm driving down the road, no check out engine lights, all the sudden the car dropped to reduced engine power, and stalled. It would not turn back over. Got it towed to Simms. The call me a few days later saying, it'll be almost 6,000$ to fix. That the engine has a very well known and documented issue with the piston rings. SIMMS informed me that there were multiple lawsuits about it previously and current. AND they told me it was probably the issue that caused my rear main seal to burst. They said the oil sensors in the engines of all equinox's are faulty and as long as 'some' oil goes past them, they read as good on oil. But that my car was empty of oil. Again, they charged me 2000 dollars, 2 months prior to fix my rear main and to put fresh oil in. I had driven my car only 2,500 miles since they serviced it. They knew that there was an issue, they didn't bother to inform me of it. They replaced the rear main seal KNOWING the best case it would blow again, and likely it would blow the engine. They KNEW that the issue is known to cause engine fires. And they said and did nothing. Then they offered me 500$ to scrap the car for me. Absolutely not good care, and absolutely not, a good company. read more

My car needed a catalytic converter, so I took it to Simms. After removing the old converter (making it undriveable), they discovered they didn't have a replacement. I was strung along for eleven days, left without a car. They told me there were only 2 or 3 converters in the entire country (I still don't buy it). Once it was FINALLY fixed, it took two days to get the car back. The first day I went, their phone system was down, and they refused my card. This despite previously dropping $1500 on a timing belt, and $1300 for front end work at Simms. The owner and the service manager were rude, and disrespectful of his female employees, calling them "girls." I remain loyal to Chevrolet, and recently my son, and I both bought new ones. I took my 2014 Buick Enclave to Simms Chevrolet in February 2021 because my driver side window was not working properly. I was charged $424 and told my window was fixed. I had to bring my car back to Simms multiple times after my original visit because the window continued to not work properly even though they said they fixed it. It is now October 2021 and my driver side window has stopped working again. Clearly they did not fix the problem correctly the first time. I will not return to Simms for any work on my car in the future. read more

I've brought my car in several times for various service issues and each time was taken care of expeditiously and at a very good rate. I have leased two vehicles through Simms and my salesman, Mike Diener, has been extremely knowledgeable and helpful and has helped me with any questions or concerns I have had immediately and to my satisfaction. August 17, 2020, my friend and I signed contracts with this dealer and put deposits on the new corvettes. Dealer promised by spring we would get ours, but with delays, we waited until the end of the year. At that time, I recommend another friend of mine who ordered corvettes from another dealer Adam referred to, and 7 later, he got his corvettes while we're waiting for 16 months already. production was full force, but these guys kept giving stories and selling cars under us. I asked Adam if they're selling the cars under us, and he promised me they're not that kind of dealer. Three months later, that's exactly what happened. Adam called and said they would need an additional 10k per car for them to release our cars. This is the kind of scumbag move I saw coming from this dealer after my friend got his car. I've had other dealers wanting to give me their orders, but I didn't want to change my word on Adam (wish they did the same ), and almost two years later, it bit me in the butt. This dealership doesn't deserve to be in business, and they should get off this is for wasting someone's time and giving false hopes. read more

BUYERS BEWARE!! Please, think twice about doing business with SIMMS Chevrolet in Clio. The owner sadly is our neighbor and told me my Cars engine had 3 bent valves and the engine was shot and needed a whole new motor that would cost $6400 & my car was only worth $500 as is. But he would give me more than $500 if I traded it in and leased a new vehicle from him. He also wouldn't charge me for his mechanic to look at my car IF I leased something. This was the beginning of May. There has been tons of issues with how my lease was handled from trade-in to paperwork/payments. The latest was finding out from the owner/neighbor that my 3 valves were never bent and the car was running now without a new motor. The guy that drove my car to the dealership so the mechanic could look at it was the guy Simms sold my car to (without a title because I still had it). He fixed it and was going to take it to auction to be sold. He fixed an oil pump and a timing chain NOT a new motor or any bent valves. My car before being told that the engine was shot was worth $9 to $10 thousand dollars. I could buy back my car for $4600, then$3500, then $2000 but I could not get a receipt for the work that was done and I couldn't even drive the vehicle down the road with Bruce Simms in the car with us to make sure it was running ok. But I was expected to sign away any right I may have by signing a legal document saying Simms was not liable for anything. I also had to make a cashiers check out to the guy he sold my car to for repairs with no receipt. Needless to say, He got upset when I wouldn't agree to those term and not even get to drive it down the road. He lied and deceived us to make a buck off us, his neighbors, which the money that my old car was worth is a lot to us but mere pocket change to a company/ man of his stature. If I could give this dealership a less than 1 star rating, I would. I would NOT recommend Simms Chevrolet to anyone. I had spoken with Aprille regarding a 2010 Equinox. We exchanged several phone calls and emails over a few days. I had planned on driving from Beaverton (an hour and 10 minute drive!) to look at the vehicle. When I arrived, Aprille was not in, and I had a heck of a time even getting anyone to notice I was there. Once I myself tracked someone down to help me, they put me in the wrong vehicle to test drive and I had to be the one to bring this up, they didn't even notice. Once I got back from test driving the right vehicle, they took a quick look at my car, didn't even drive it, and talked for maybe 10 minutes about what kind of 'deal' they could get me. He said they couldn't get me any better than $xxx without even driving my car that I had for trade in, or even running my credit report!!!! I left and will NOT be back, nor will I ever recommend Simms to anyone. read more

On 12/27/2011, I brought my 2009 Chevy HHR for ESC/Traction service issue at 4:50 pm. I was waited on by John Hallwood. Mr. Hallwood said, and I quote: since it's almost closing time, he will have the mechanic look at it the next day. I said that was fine, and since it's under the Power Train warranty, I asked for a loaner to use for the time being. Mr. Hallwood's response was: I don't know until the mechanic diagnoses the problem. I asked Mr. Hallwood, if ESC/Traction issues are covered under the Power Train warranty? Mr. Hallwood's answer: again Sir, I don't know until the mechanic diagnoses the problem. I explained to Mr. Hallwood that I needed to know if a loaner is covered under the warranty, or if I need to contact my insurance for that . When I asked Mr. Hallwood if any one else would know or to look GM's warranty manual, Mr. Hallwood went and brought me a 2' thick ; so called manual to look it up myself !! And walked away. Astonished by what just happened, I called Mr. Hallwood back. I informed Mr. Hallwood of my disappointment of the lack of care & knowledge; expecting the customer to search for answers on his own. Not soon as I was expressing my dissatisfaction of the service, a BAT OUT OF HELL bolts out yelling, and I quote: Sir, Sir , you need to lower your voice and leave, we no longer need to do business with you, I will let you out myself. That was Fixed Operation manager: Bill Vock. That happened in front of several employees including Mr. Joe St. Pierre, Body shop manager, that previously handled a body work done on the same vehicle. That was a despicable way to treat a customer. This complaint was posted on Simms's web site the next it happened, and I asked for the owner Bruce Simms to call me. Still waiting.
