As a new patient was not given the best experience by the office staff. They were not nice very rude and confrontational and pushy about my situation. They lied about there job title to try get me to do there testing done without checking with insurance. Very unprofessional behavior rolling eyes cutting me off while trying to explain my concerns. Spoke with office manager Nancy also very rude and disrespectful. Never did expect to get this type of treatment in a new office as a new patient. I had not even been seen or seen a doctor or specialist there and they took upon themselves to discuss things in front of patients. Never gave me an option to see a provider. I can't say enough positive things about Dr. Simonian and especially his PA Nathan Miller who has attended me on the last two visits. Not only is he the coolest guy, but he is able to explain the answers to my questions in depth without hesitation in layman's terms. He is very skilled at the anesthesia and removing the water on both of my knees and explaining why and how the fluid built. Also for the future and what my possible options are as far as long term after a pretty heinous automobile accident and injury to both my knees. I had a skiing accident and injured my knee. The first time I went to Simonian's office, the PA said "Oh no, definitely not an ACL tear". About an hour later I had an MRI that confirmed that I indeed did have a full tear of my ACL. On my next visit, I actually met the doctor, but not for long! He was in and out in a matter of about three minutes. He confirmed my ACL tear and said, "Okay, let's get you scheduled for surgery". No warm fuzzies and no explanation of what having an ACL tear meant for my health. The third time I went back for my pre-op appointment I met with a different PA who basically talked me out of the surgery. I was actually glad because a few months after my initial injury and a lot of PT I was able to avoid surgery. Their office feels like a busy restaurant that is desperate to turn tables except this isn't food, it's your health and body. read more

Dr. Simonian and his staff are courteous, professional, and timely. I actually got to the office a bit late my first meeting, and the staff helped me so I could see the doctor in time. Dr. Simonian looked at my MRI/X-Rays and told me that my knee was complete rehabilitative without surgery. His second opinion was pertinent for my quality of life and finances. At their competitor, Sierra Pacific Orthopedics (SPO), they told me I had a high probability of an ACL tear by performing assessments on my knee rather than looking at a MRI. SPO said I would need surgery, and I was pleased to here from Dr. Simonian that surgery would be highly unlikely. Months later, my knee is nearly at 100% thanks to Dr. Simonian's care without surgery. He says he is a big advocate for physical therapy, and I can see why -- sometimes time, diet, and exercise provides more relief for an injury rather than going under the knife. Just got my ACL reconstruction done with Dr.Simonian, I'm post op 2a few weeks now and the rumors are true, this guy is the guy to go to if you need an ACL repair, he's does an exemplary job. This is the guy to go to if you need an ACL reconstruction. I had an allograft done and he did a great job explaining the different grafts pros and cons. The surgery was quick and recovery was quick as well. The entire pre op, or and post op nurses were awesome, throughout the entire process. Dr. Simonians office staff is great as well, well mannered and they do a good job answering any questions you have. I have to say for this being my first surgery they did an amazing job from beginning to end. Appointment wise, it was really quick to get an appointment and it's awesome cause he has availabilities as early as 6am which was nice. After meeting Dr.Simonian the. Surgery scheduler made it really easy to pick a day for surgery and they were able to give me days the following week to schedule my surgery, which was super nice and convenient. Came in today to check my left shoulder's MRI results. Many of my Arminian friends suggested I see Dr Samonian, due to his great reputation and abilities to treat Sports related injuries. Thank God I only have Calcium deposits and I was giving a shot in the Shoulder today to desolve the deposits and hopefully that would eliminate the pain and the discomfort in my left shoulder. I feel wonderful an hour later. But the overall experience with Dr Samonian and his Staff been a five stars. The reason I have it at 3 stars, because when I was sent to take the MRI , Dr Samonian staff should have recommended the open Tube MRI machine not the Little one for smaller size people . Otherwise all is good and I recommend Dr Samonian, Especially if you Rich and Famous . He is kind of a stuck up Doctor that rely on hos assistants to do most of the work he should be doing. read more

Had a bad bicycle accident back around Christmas 2016 and has splintered the shoulder socket into the joint. I wasn't able to be scheduled until around August 1st 2017 (due to insurance issues; office had me scheduled for surgery within approximately 3 months after the paperwork and scans came through)! Needless to say, it was very limiting and often very painful to have to do things around the house! Did some research on Dr. Simonian's credentials and reviews from various clients after being referred and I knew I would be in good hands! When I first met Dr. Simonian, my first impression was that he was a very genuine, kind and caring person and had a vast knowledge of what was wrong. He seemed more than happy to take extra time and ensure my questions were all answered after each visit! Come the day of the surgery, he came out and talked to me as I was being prepped and made me feel a lot calmer and prepared for what was going on! Even looking through my discharge notes later, Dr Simonian and his staff made sure to include everything (pain meds, antibiotics, extra gauze, instructions, etc) before I made it home! Shortly after he surgery (after taking a week or two to adjust), I could definitely feel a difference even with the post-op pain. It felt so much better than before and it showed even more so in the following weeks! During the follow ups from post-operation, I mostly talked to his staff and everything they couldn't answer was given a response very quickly by phone! The times he was able to meet me face to face during the follow ups, he was still this compassionate and genuine person that truly seemed to care about his patients! Dr Simonian and his staff are professional, polite, and explained everything perfectly. They were very when it came to me explaining my concerns. I was processed quickly and the issue was resolved. I appreciate the way the doctor and his PAs handle business. I don't like going to a doctors office where they talk forever about things I'm not a subject matter expert in. They gave me the information I needed and that was it, I really appreciated that aspect. Even outside of the office they were extremely kind and professional. On the day of my surgery they made sure everything was in order multiple multiple times and the follow up in post op was explained clearly by the doctor. He reviewed the photos that were taken during surgery and did so without making me feel inferior for not being a doctor. Age:29 Year of injury: 2011 Year of surgery :2017 I waited 6 years to get this surgery done because I wanted the best in town! I'm a college student so paying $300 a month for insurance was totally worth it to see Doctor Peter simonian because everyone talked about this surgeon. Thought I'd check him out for myself, and I'm a highly satisfied patient of his. I had an ACL surgery done on my left knee. My MRI showed a meniscus tear as well but when he went inside he found that it was completely healthy so there were two other procedures performed aside from the ACL. Debridement (most likely a common procedure. Just a clean up) and a mild synovectomy. After surgery I had NO pain. Maybe a 1 the day off the surgery. My only complications were opioid induced constipation so plan on having prune juice around because it really helps and eases the stomach pains. I feel I have a peace of my mind and I am so glad I did not decide to get the surgery done for free under Medi-cal. I have no regrets. If you want a peace of mind, a good recovery, and want to feel valued then go here. I'm a picky person and will bend over backwards to do my research and am not afraid to speak up if I'm unsatisfied so you can trust my review on him. I'm so happy I chose simonian! Another plus.... my insurance did not cover the assistant surgeons fees, and I received a letter from his office stating Simonian covered my cost. I felt so valued and appreciated. Who does that?! The only 2 times I saw Dr. Simonian was when I had a pre-surgery visit and the day of surgery. His office staff is horrible to deal with. My issues started with a wrong appointment written down for the removal of my stitches. When I called the office back after they left me a message about my missed appointment, the woman told me "You won't get any reminder call for this appointment" Well, I didn't get one for the 1st appointment they messed up, so why would I expect one for a re-schedule. My follow up appointment was also re-scheduled, the person who called me on a Saturday, made it seem like the doctor was SO busy he had to change. Fine I changed it to a week later. I had a conflict and had to try to- re-schedule, again the people on the phone were so rude. I ended up leaving the appointment time for 2:15, but told the lady I might be a bit late. Another Saturday call to tell me that I was HIS last appointment and I needed to be in the office at 2:15. Ok, I show up, YOU MUST WEAR A MASK, they gave me one and I get in the exam room at 2:25, not 2:15! The PA, Nate comes in with NO mask. I had clearly made the WRONG assumption that I was going to see the doctor. Of course, no one said I would see a PA, no big deal. Nate NEVER examined my knee, nor did he look at the surgical site. When I explained that physical therapy was not offered, he claimed I denied it. Wrong. My chiropractor recommended I go. I still have a lot of tightness and knee pain. Nate tells me it's because I have arthritis and my only option is a cortisone shot. He then tells me if I think I injured it again, I'll need an MRI. How about you just to an exam. I'm sure the doctor is an incredible surgeon, but his office and staff are absolutely horrible people to deal with. read more

first time visit, went thru the required procedure our ins co required as we were not a cash customer . they called to set up the consult on MLK day (a holiday for most) the consult was set up for 4 days after the call . happy ! we entered a very busy office and only waited 15 or so minutes as paperwork was completed . our regular Dr. of 30+ yr we have to wait 1.5-2.0 hr to see him with an appt. everyone we were in contact with was very nice and had a genuine smile . The Best of the Best . Dr Simonian's reputation is on par with the most excellent of orthopedic doctors . It's true he has Physician Assistants and RNs that may see you once you are in care . That is completely understandable . No doctor of his caliber can be expected to be administering cortisone shots BUT you are under his care and a request to see him once you are his patient is granted . Dr. Simonian has done three surgeries for me at present. He fixed my right knee, and did a massive rotator cuff repair on my right shoulder, and yesterday he did a meniscus repair on my left knee. He has done a very very good job!!! H e is always very kind. courteous and extremely compassionate. All his work is done excellent and after the surgery I recover in the slotted time that he has stated, without any complications or infections. I'm going to give them a five star rating because I would give him a 10 if I could. There was only one female PA in the whole office that I did not care for, and it was her lack of compassion for me when I was having terrible pain, but everyone else has been over-the-kind to me. I am a former employee of Dr Simonian's office, but I am also a patient. This review has nothing to do with my previous employment there because that would need a different review but this is solely on my experience as a patient. Dr Simonian's skills as a Dr and a surgeon are incredible! I previously had a knee surgery with a different Dr before having Simonian see me for my knee! I scheduled an appointment just like any regular patient and was seen for a possible re-injury! At the initial appointment he does a thorough examination, xrays on site, and discusses your pain and/or injury with you! We scheduled the MRI about a week later and sure enough I had new meniscus tears and arthritis which required another surgery. I scheduled surgery within a week! My recovery and experience from this surgery was much much much greater than my first one! I had my surgery on a Thursday and was walking and back to work the next Monday! Granted it was a fairly simple procedure but it was a great experience! I am a 62 yo man. I have had 3 surgeries by Dr. Simonian. Bottom line, I am totally impressed. First was a rotator-cuff tear repair. Recovery and PT was much faster and nicer than a previous surgery (different Dr.) on the other shoulder. Second was a carpal tunnel surgery, also the second one (different Dr.). Incision about 1/3 the size, recovery faster. Third surgery I am now recovering from. Totally munched my ankle when I didn't un-clipped in time as I went down on my bicycle. I think he did a fabulous job, but it has only been 2 weeks. Fibula was in several pieces, now the x-ray doesn't even reveal the fracture lines! Lots of metal though. I had knee surgery Oct. 2013 for a meniscus tear. I was out of work for over 5 months. I kept telling Dr. Simonian that something wasn't right with the knee. I had pain, swelling, and it wouldn't support me. He said it took time. Then I was told it was arthritis, and the latest is that it's my back. I have absolutely nothing wrong with my back. Half the time I talked to a PA or office staff rather than Dr. Simonian. As far as I'm concerned, he left me a cripple. Fortunately, I have been referred elsewhere and look forward to finally walking normally again. Another woman my age, who had the same surgery the same month, had to retire after her surgery. I think I established in my reviews that I never got to see the doctor for my daughter so you are ABSOLUTELY correct that neither myself or my daughter are patients. Again if someone in your office had been the slightest bit compationate the review would have been different. Someone put forth special effort to identify me and my review or they remembered my desperate plea for reconsideration in my request to see my daughter. It makes me wonder if you have reached out to other negative reviews via phone as you did with me. Not only did you seek me out but you immediately began to tell me I was unfair and failed to talk with me but rather at me. If your office is so wondeful to their patients, why are there not hundreds of positive reviews. I stand by my review and hope that others do not get treated as badly as we did. Maybe I would have been treated better if we were established patients since you are so adiment to point out that we were not. Whatever position you hold your reactions towards my review are proof of your total disregard of people and there circumstances/concerns.
