This 'business' is absolute garbage. You cannot schedule an X-ray, they want you to pack in like sardines in the tiny lobby and wait for 2-3 hours. They do not start doing X-rays until 9am but you'd better be there at 7am to hold your spot because they don't tell you that when you get there first thing in the morning and when you come back at 9am, they can't see you until 11:30...They're clearly understaffed with technicians. Heads up for folks to steer clear of this imaging company! It's become more and more like a third world country experience to have scans done at Simon med! I went there at my practitioner's recommendation because she prefers the fact that they have radiologists who send over reports to her, and I understand that being very important. However, it's just not worth the hassle. I have had negative experiences with Simonmed more than once, but this time was the last time. A few days ago I went in for an appointment for an MRI of my chest and abdomen. No big deal, I've had tons of MRIS. But there was no way I could have anticipated what was in store for me. The radiology technician was pleasant. She kept suggesting that I cancel the test though, because she said the machine was so old that they were having difficulty getting good scans for the ordering practitioners. I have been deluged with many medical tests over the last 6 weeks and I was just weary, so i responded with: "I'm sure these tests will be adequate or you wouldn't be in business, right?" Well, that was probably wrong. The technician told me the MRI would be around 25 minutes. I went into the tube, but then some rather odd things began taking place. First, I was wrapped with a thick blanket around my chest area and then strapped in twice with belt like pieces of fabric or leather. Next came some kind of metal apparatus that was snapped over my chest with part of it extending up over my lower face. In addition, she began packing between my arms and the MRI tube with plastic foam pads, saying that the machine tends to get very warm and that would keep me cooler. Wow. I should have seen the red flags by this point, but I was pretty chill about it all, having had many scans that included mri's. But the "clincher" was when she was ready to begin and I was all packed in to the machine and she mentioned that there was no longer a working bulb to squeeze, if I wanted to stop the scan. But she reassured me that wasn't usually a problem for anyone because this was a short scan series. I thought well, I'll just kick my legs to let her know if I need out, but I'm thinking "what's the big deal; this is only 25 minutes." Wrong again. I noticed as the scan continued well beyond the 25 minutes, that I was getting excessively warm in the machine. I was beginning to really worry about what was happening. Finally at about 45 minutes I'd had all I could take and I started kicking my legs. Fortunately she saw me doing that and she said she'd like to get a few more because the scans were so poor quality, and I said no. Apparently the machine was quite antiquated and they were unable to keep the heat levels down inside the unit. I was the victim of all this, not to mention the inability to let her know via a regular squeeze bulb, that I was done with the heat & the discomfort. I spoke with another radiology technician this week over at Dignity Health at the hospital when I was going for some CT scans. The technician mentioned that the older MRIs run hot, don't have fans, are smaller in size, and of course don't provide very good images. Why does simonmed still have antiquated equipment? Is the antiquated equipment dangerous? And also, I believe that a patient should never be asked to go inside a machine that runs this hot and where the patient has no clear-cut way of letting the radiology technician know that they want to end the scan session. All of this was very unprofessional and a very very unpleasant experience for me, the patient! I shudder to think about some older people who go through these scans at Simon med, and don't speak up for themselves or get stuck in the machine like I did before it was too late to get out. I was packed in there like a sausage. I want to say that I am not claustrophobic and again, I've done many scans like this. But never have I experienced such a deplorable situation in a medical facility while having images scanned! read more

Today was amazing, since I already filled out forms online, the wait was real short. We walked in and there were lot of people in the waiting room. I checked in and within a minute I was called back. The technician was nice and friendly talked me through the steps and within 5 minute we were done! It was nice to get in and out fast. Oh speaking of fast....I finally got to eat lunch!! Obviously overbooked and aren't honest with patients about the wait time. Pack you in the waiting room like sardines with no other method to allow you to wait in your car away from germs and conversations you don't want to be part of. I'd suggest finding an alternate solution. read more

I have had the occasion to go to SimonMed Imaging in Prescott Valley on a couple of occasions. I hope that everyone visiting YELP will take the time to read my review. Yesterday, I was there for a routine knee X-ray. The woman who checked me in was very kind and very professional. However, what I witnessed by two different customers while waiting for my X-ray, was appalling. One older man was extremely rude to one of the staff at check in, shouting at her before storming out of the waiting area. The other was a middle-aged woman. A tech from the back came out to try and explain an issue with her and was immediately, rudely interrupted by this woman and dismissed with a wave of her hand. This staff member was very calm, very soft spoken and trying to impart information that this woman clearly did NOT want to hear. As soon as the technician graciously thanked her and walked away, the woman started complaining to all those sitting around her about how she didn't want to hear anything this tech had to say. I do NOT understand why customers are allowed to get away with such verbal abuses toward staff that are there to help customers, follow the policies and practices of SimonMed Imaging, and do their jobs! In my humble opinion, there should be signs posted stating that mistreatment including verbal or physical abuse of staff and patients will NOT be tolerated. Maybe then, some of the RUDE customers that visit SimonMed Imaging will get the message. read more

I have scheduled my daughter for a CT with contrast three times at Simon Med Prescott Valley. Simon med has cancelled three times for no prior authorization. I contacted the insurance company and Simon med requested and withdrew first request for services not rendered after telling us to not come while we were driving there from Cornville. They requested it the day of the appointment and they had two weeks to get it. The insurance company has no record of a second or third request. Meanwhile Simon Med is telling me it's because they need clinical notes, and auth is pending, which I had the Dr send before I followed up with the insurance company The scheduling contact center told me prior auth wasn't required twice, two different employees, I asked to be transferred to the manager. That phone rang no answer. I left a message with the compliance officer at corporate, big surprise, no return call. Meanwhile other procedures that pens on results of this test are now delayed and my daughter is in pain. Simon Med asked me to schedule a fourth time. I told them I will ask the referring DR to send us and all other patients he has elsewhere. The last appointment was removed from their schedule and I was not notified and I was told by the contact center that schedules if they don't have confirmation from the insurance company it's Simon meds process to remove patients from schedule. They have outsourced customer service and care management, this goes against every principle they were founded on. My daughter has Batten disease, JNCL, NCL3 it's rare and making her comfortable is all I can do for her as there is no cure. Simon Med does not care about its patients. I worked in the medical field and In all my years I never had to reschedule someone 4 times while I obtained authorization. Ever. Someone on auth team is lying and not doing their job. The insurance company even gave me a phone number to expídete her request for the provider, which I passed on to Simon Med and when I called insurance next day, they had not called. Time to update your process Simon Med. I am disappointed. Customer experience starts with the front office. Not some outsourced contact center that has never even talked to an insurance company. The scheduling team has no idea about authorization. They have to send a note to the authorization team. This is your outcome for having this process. Disappointed, Frustrated and very angry. I took my daughter to ER. Local ER can't do this procedure. Simon Med you're letting your community down. Teach the importance of what these schedules do to them, explain we are not a process. I would recommend getting a new auth team that doesn't lie to the patients by falsifying account status that auth is pending when it wasn't even submitted. read more

Absolutely the worst. Can take 7 business days to get a report on a simple CT scan. Patient Portal not working and you can not get hold of a live person to talk to about it. The chat on the webpage is not manned by a live person, even though it says it is. Facilities are outdated and dirty. I have had a CT scan at The Mayo Clinic and it is years ahead more advanced than SimonMed - just in care, cleanliness, & turn around time. Don't waste your time here !!!!! read more

I have had several different types of scans done here. PROS - Techs seem very professional and knowledgeable. I can usually get in quicker here than imaging places in Phoenix. Saves me a trip to the Valley. Usually short wait time on appointment day. CONS - Evidently scheduling is done overseas or at some giant call center. Many times the scheduler is very difficult to understand and is not familiar with the various tests and the required prep. I have had to reschedule several times because tests were not scheduled correctly or prep instructions were incorrect. There seems to be quite a bit of turnover with receptionists. There was one gal who was super efficient in the PV office but apparently she has moved on. The new gal, although friendly, was not familiar with the proper prep and it resulted in a bit of a mix-up with tech and scan. My suspicion is that SM does not provide adequate training and probably does not pay sufficiently, resulting in the good ones moving on to better paying jobs. read more

Waited in the crammed dirty waiting room to be called up and said they can't do without orders. Absolutely done! Staff up front awful. read more

I paid my Bill while I was waiting so I'm kind of stuck here. Then SEVERAL other walk ins that came in after me got called in before me. My wife and I had orders for xrays and the physician put them through Simon Med in Prescott Valley. We received the typical text/email stating they received the order and it was only walk-ins. I looked up the website and it said 1 person waiting. I changed real quick and we headed there. When we arrived, there was a sign on the door that said no xrays until the 13th and then on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I asked the receptionist and she verified and made sure to add; "we are going to be slammed". I got the impression that meant not to try. It would have been nice for the website to reflect the correct hours. It turned into a waste of time and fuel. As with some of the other reviews; the place looked like a dump. My scan was cancelled because they were "waiting on insurance approval". I called insurance. Simonmed never sent the approval in. Insurance had no claim pending. My ortho appointment has been pushed back a month because of this mistake on their part. This is the third scheduling issue I've had with a simonmed location that has caused me to miss a scheduled orthopedic appointment. read more

First, I try to make an appointment with a person that I could NOT understand whatsoever...ended up hanging up in frustration. Then, I try the next day and make an appointment, advising the CSR that I have a pacemaker, to which they said that'd be fine and schedules the appointment. I get a phone call just as I am parking up on the day of the appointment...decide not to answer since I'm going in at that moment. I get in and they tell me that they cannot accomodate pacemakers with their MRIs and that I'd have to go down to the Valley. The level of incompetence this facility displays is staggering. The medical staff is very good, quick great service WHEN you get through the line. An hour plus wait for a 5 minute X-ray. It could have been worse and much better. I work a full time job outdoors. I was not able to wait very long so I decided to return on an early morning to minimize wait time. I came in about 9am and there was very few people. However I was not greeted, so I stood in the only line I thought was open. About 5 minutes into waiting, "Jeannine" and her husband came in and were immediately greeted by lane #2 that did not seem to be open. They got to skip the line of people who had been standing there, and of course "Jeannine" was also getting an X-ray. I ended up waiting 40 extra minutes because I was not greeted by office staff. Of course old folks do not care and are clueless most of the time on how they're being rude, so us young folk just have to bite the bullet for retirees. It would be great if the office staff paid attention to who's coming in! read more

Techs are great and typically provide service within a reasonable time close to appointment time. Seems to be a large turnover of personnel as I have the same scans done quarterly and every time a new tech. Turnover of people says to me this is not a great place to work. Billing is a mess. Receive a bill for a strange amount which they can not explain. Had paid in full the copay on date of service, and it matches the amount my insurance says is my responsibility. Get an email bill for a small amount. Call and they can not explain. Ultimately hang up on me since they can not determine what happened. Call and ask for supervisor. Wait on hold forever and finally get a response that something internally got denied. What a mess. read more

I drive an hour and a half to get imagining done so I stack everything in one day. Today I had xrays and a ct scan with and without contrast. I had an appointment for my ct so I arrived 45min early for my xrays. They took me back early and it was for the ct scan. After I went to xray. After half of my images were taken the tech says hmm maybe the contrast wont work? Her trainer came back and said I had to reschedule my xrays a week out because of the contrast. Ugh!! What?! That's why I came for xrays BEFORE?! Now I have to reschedule my doctor appointment that has been months out and come back for images. The staff is very friendly. However this incompetancy is resulting in a big headache to reschedule travel and doctors appointments because someone messed up. read more

I am commenting on a neck MRI that I had done at SimonMed in Prescott Valley. The MRI report was prepared with crucial information missing. When my doctor asked for the radiologist to look into the report again, an addendum was prepared that included contradictory findings and did not respond to the doctor's concerns. When findings are unclear and contradictory, the lack of professionalism impedes proper care and defeats the point of these diagnostic tests. I am just posting an update on my experience with this facility. I recently got an ultrasound for the same condition that I got an MRI for. Again erroneous results. So I had to get a second ultrasound at another facility just so that I can continue my medical care with proper information. I am extremely concerned with the diagnostic tests this facility provides and will not be using them again. Moving from the radiologist reports to the billing department, I have been repeatedly receiving a request to pay for a service that was never run by my insurance. I've called three times to sort this out and still get the same bill that my insurance has never seen. I am now currently at the facility requesting a CD of images that I dropped off a week ago that they have misplaced and are unable to find. read more

I had an MRI and was told to pay over $700 for the service. I was fine with that because I hadn't met my deductible and OOP. They took awhile to submit the claim to insurance and in the meantime, I met my deductible and OOP. So they should be refunding me the $700. Instead I get a bill for $1100 after they received payment from my insurance company. Now I am told that it will take 90 days to review the payment and if appropriate, send me a check. Crazy that I have to wait 90 days but I have to pay them at the time of service. There refund policy practice is ridiculous. I will not use them again and I will not recommend them to anyone. First, do NOT go to the Simonmed.com website! The phone number they list for the Prescott Valley office will NOT get you this office! It brings you to a call center. Second, there is no communication between the local office and the call center. Third, information between the local office and call center are completely different I was quoted a price for a procedure for self-pay by the local office. The call center quoted me a price that was $65 higher. No explanation, just a huge difference. Fourth, I was on the phone for over 45 minutes waiting to get the co-pays because no one seemed to have the information. They refused to transfer me to the local office. Fifth, the procedures are being done in two days and no one has even run my insurance approval and co-pays! Now I will have to make another trip there tomorrow to get the information they failed to provide me over the phone. If I could go elsewhere, I would. read more

I went to SimonMed Imaging on Friday mid-morning after getting a script from a doctor's office for chest x-rays due to suspected pneumonia. The office staff seemed great, the place was clean and modern, and the tech was very kind and professional. I was told at the time of my visit to SimonMed Imaging that they would get the results back to my doctor either later that day or Monday at the latest and that I should be getting a call then. It seemed odd to me to take that long to read the film, but I was feeling too poorly to question it. I'm also not a doctor, so what do I know? After not hearing back Friday or today (Monday), I called the doctor's office for the second time just before closing to find out that SimonMed had not sent them the information yet. So, I called SimonMed and was told, "It will take 3-5 business days for your results to come back." If that's the case, then why was I was told at the time of my visit that the results would be to my doctor either that day or Monday at the latest? And why in the world would it take so long when imaging is all that they do? My goodness, even our vet had our pup's chest x-ray results in 30 minutes. I am very unsatisfied and I seriously doubt I will every be back. Great office staff and a clean facility - seriously, they nailed it in theses areas. But results in a week? Why? read more

One of the employees behind the counter berated me saying "didn't she tell you that she was on lunch break?" when i asked how much longer she thought it would be (signed in at 11:10 AM, returned to the counter at 12:40 to asked this question). I said No, and she said "I heard her tell you that!". Not only was this not true, but not even applicable (unless the lunch break is from 11:00 - 1:00). Being berated by anybody, ever, is so inappropriate, much less to an ailing person who this organization is charged with helping. There are too many good, qualified people in need of employment. Even the woman beside me (who was aking to get her CC back) looked at me in what appeared to be disbelief. Rudeness and disrespect to others in general is bad enough, this review is for the unprofessionalism (as any employee of a healthcare provider), much less a representative of one in this industry who (presumably ?) should extra-care about a person there seeking help. read more

I am still getting billed for a test I did not have. This goes back to May 2023 and this company does not respond or correct the issue. In addition, the report sent to my doctor was falsified to look like the test was done. I'm not sure any of the report is accurate. I have contacted their billing department repeatedly, and even my insurance company cannot get a response. Avoid them, go elsewhere. read more

My doctor sent me there for imaging and they said their CT was down. So they sent me to Anthem, an hour away. What a disaster. Their CT was also down and I had an appointment. They asked me to return in the afternoon but told me they would call me. They should have sent me to a facility with working equipment. I returned for my 10 am appointment after 1 pm and was told they would get me in right away. I told them I was not called and had driven in from out of town so they assured me I would get in ahead of the line. After waiting 2 hours there I sat in an empty waiting room. Still waiting I spoke to them for the 3rd time. They finally got me in after 5 pm and apologized for the miscommunication. They are so inept I was steaming mad. Never again will I use them. The wait was not bad. The ladies at the front seat are amazing. So nice and helpful. Crystal the imaging technician was a gem. So sweet and kind. I was nervous to get X-rays for my motorcycle accident but she made the experience a breeze. If I ever need this type of service again I would defiantly make the drive to come here. read more

I've used this office for a few years and up until a few months ago, things were pretty much perfect. I have no complaints about staff except perhaps the person on the phone should probably make eye contact to acknowledge the fact someone is standing there waiting. My waits have gotten longer and longer so I must surmise they are overbooking patients. It bothers me that I must come 15 minutes prior "for check in" and then sit and wait for 50 minutes. Clearly, their time is more important than mine. read more

Don't go here. Front desk is unprofessional. Imaging did me no good as tech missed the vein for contrast. I only found out today nearly a month later as I go to see my Dr to get the results. I made an OB ultrasound appointment, weeks in advance. They asked me if I was over 14 weeks. I told them yes. Then the day before my appointment they call and tell me they don't do OB ultrasound over 14 weeks!! My husband took a day off work to get me to my appointment. They should have called me weeks ago. Front desk personnel are difficult to deal with. First off, I had an order for an US of breasts. The doctor wrote the order for this and submitted it electronically to Simon. I went online to schedule my US. I made my appt for the Prescott office. I showed up for the appt, registered, paid my copay, then sat down and waited. About 10 minutes later the receptionist came over to me and said she wanted to confirm that I was getting an US of my thyroid. I replied no, that my thyroid was removed long ago, and my appt was for an US of my breasts. Uh oh. She told me they don't do those at that office, and I would have to reschedule with the PV office. I did that, and came to the PV office today. I registered again. This time I'm told that my doctor never signed the order, and that I had paid for an US of the thyroid. And that I had scheduled myself for an US of the thyroid. Not true. Even if I had, this should have been corrected both when they called to confirm my appt, and when they matched the doctor's order with my appt. none of that happened. Regardless, they had to call my doctor to get a verbal okay, charge me over $200 more for the US, and have me wait even long. Here I sit at 10:50 when I had a 10:30 appt. The younger woman at the PV front desk, the one with dark hair, either has poor listening skills, poor hearing, or is poorly trained. Maybe all three. Every question I asked was met with an answer that verified this. Me: What is the self-pay cost compared to the cost of this goes through insurance? Her: (directed to other woman at front desk) What is the special on US now? Other Woman: We don't have any specials now. Her: No specials. Me: That wasn't my question. (Now regretting asking the question). Is it cheaper to pay this completely myself? Her: The price is $227 something, because you already paid $100 something. Me: (resigned to the fact that I will not get an answer to my question.). (I simply hand my credit card to her. Giving up.) And here I sit and it's 11:00. And I have a 10:30 appt. I have to leave in an hour. So this US may not happen today. I will NEVER use Simon again. read more
