My MD sent me to SimonMed to get a CT Coronary Calcium scan to determine if I'm at risk of having a heart attack. My MD said that my insurance wouldn't cover the cost, and if I went to TMMC they would charge $250 but SimonMed would only charge $100. I made the appointment and told SimonMed it would be self pay, but they put it through my insurance anyway (which is a HIPPA violation), charged me $200, and after two weeks still haven't sent the test results to my MD. I had an MRI appointment today on 8/15/25 @ 830am and the wait time was minimal if that. I walked in, was greeted and before you know it I was already in a gown and inside the cylinder tube. I suggest you wear the ear plugs as it can be loud but since I was tired from the night before I fell asleep. I am not sure where all of these bad reviews are coming from and no, I am not a paid actor. The girl at the front counter was polite and cute :). Plenty of parking. The tech guy was informative and courteous and explained everything in detail. read more

Dysfunctional organization, and took several weeks to get my results. Everytime I called I would get different answers and finally had to drive back to facility and hand carry results to my doctor whom requested test. I can't believe this is a medical facility. read more

Bare bones waiting room and office. Not clean. Not a comfortable setting to ease your stress, and bathroom was dirty. Terrible experience. They try to cancel my appointment with disapproval first and had to get my doctor involved to get the approval. Verified appointment in same day around 4pm. I had an appointment@1930. I showed up 15 mins prior. I looked for each door to get into building total of 5 doors but every single door was locked with no lights and no one was there. I drove around and walked around building many times. Knocked on every door but no sigh of anyone in the building. No door bell. I tried to make some phone call but it was out side business hr so no answer. After 30 mins I left......... really really bad experience. First of all, they waited to let us know that there was a problem on the day of my husband's appointment. This appointment has been scheduled a few weeks back. If they had called us earlier, even the day before, we would've straightened it out. He missed their call and they just left him a message about the problem blah blah blah and because of that they cancelled his appointment and that he has to call back to reschedule. Really?!!! You are calling us on the day of the appointment?!!! And you have the nerve to just cancel the appointment without even talking to the patient and attempt to fix the problem??? This morning my benefits ofc was on a three-way call with me and one of sjmon med's agents to let them know that my husband has only one insurance. That they do not directly deal with availity (the system where facilities check eligibility) and blue cross blue shield has not updated that information with availity for almost 2 yrs now. They confirmed the MRI does not need an authorization. We talked to John (one of simon med's agent) initially and he did confirm that everything was good and he was going to resked my husband. But since my husband had to take time off work just for this appointment that was cancelled at the last minute, we were trying to get him in today. John put us on hold for a long time. The agent at my benefits ofc had to leave the call so i had to hand up and call simon med back. I then got Jex. See this is another problem too, u soeak to diff people everytine u call! He saw notes on file. He said since the appointment was canceled by mistake and the original slot at 1p had already been taken. He will put notes that he told me to just go 15mins before 1p and tell the torrance location to accomodate my husband. Husband went in. Was told there was a problem with insurance and that it needs authorization that may take 5-7 days. Person at the location was of no help. They could not see any notes from any phone conversation only a few hours earlier. Everything that was done this morning was a waste of time. And he was not accomodated. Husband tried calling the number we called in the morning, was transferred about 5 times. Nobody could help. Still just repeating about insurance. It's like talking to an automated system. Nobody trying to be a person and think for themselves and go beyond what can be done to see what the problem is. What a waste of time! So i am calling our doctor's office to send my husband somewhere else and we are never going back there. If you are given a choice for any imaging procedures, DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! read more

I saw several of the one star reviews when i checked the location of Simon med, and was a bit concerned. However, my experience was fine. The staff were friendly and professional and the facility was clean and pleasant. I did have some issues getting scheduled, but am not sure if the problem was with Simon or with my provider. read more

Very clean facility. The staff isn't people friendly, Nothing like Del Amo Diagnostic. They more like AI. The call center is really bad. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. They cancel your doctor's request for no known reason. They REQUIRE you reach their "PA" whatever that is. They never do a callback even when they suggest that is how to reach their "PA" and take your number. Their website is even worse. The chatbot they use says "Any questions we're here to help." This is a complete lie. They don't let you submit ANY question. Try to get your doctor to use a different Imaging service. SimonMed Imaging certain has no intention of serving you. read more

After a 3-month ordeal, I feel at a major loss because of SimonMed Imaging. I was told over the phone that an MRI here would cost $300, so I made an appointment, filled out the documents from the reception desk, and had my MRI. I received a bill in the mail for $1600. How does a $300 bill turn into $1600? To find out, I had to call multiple times over 3 months to get any answer, and was told that because they took my insurance information, the bill would be $1600, and that I should have paid $300 at the desk instead. No one told me that at the desk. I hope this helps anyone else from making the mistake of using the services at SimonMed. read more

I have never experienced such incompetence in my entire life. The scheduling department is Horrible! Unprofessional and clueless on how to schedule a simple appointment! But from the reviews I am not the only one with this experience yet nothing has been done to correct the problem. If Simon Imaging is the only place I can go with my network (insurance) I will have to change. I cannot tolerate the level of incompetence the scheduling department has. I was on the phone for over 1 hours trying to explain to them that they canceled my apt in error and the only thing they could tell me was let me see how I could assist you and them the phone would transfer me back to the customer service pool. I'm going to write a letter to someone on behalf of all of us who have complained about them. read more

There were two front people here. One of their names is Veronica. Her attitude and customer service was terrible. When I was speaking and asking a question to another person, Veronica rudely jumped into our conversation and kept cutting me off. I tried to finish asking my question but I couldn't get a word in because she kept cutting me off until I told her to let me finish explaining. How does she know without listening what I wanted ask??? The way she did not let me speak was very rude and unprofessional. Also I had an appointment and was waiting forever, as if the appointment time did not matter. And another employee input my insurance information completely wrong. Do not use this facility. This place is obviously the low bidder for insurance contracts. Patients who come here have no other options. Although the scanner itself is a standard piece of equipment it is frequently broken. The front desk is staffed by charmless idiots who couldn't care less if you have to wait for hours to get your MRI. Appointments mean nothing here. After coming to an evening appointment I was told after half an hour that the MRI was broken. I rescheduled for a morning appointment the following week and asked them to call me if there was any problem. I arrived on time and while checking in I was told that once again there were some technical issues which meant they were running 1-2 hours behind schedule. When I asked why no one has called me they shrugged and said they were not here last week. Avoid this place if you can. read more

I am convinced they only have 1 technician operating scans on any given day. My appointment was at 9:30am and I arrived at 9:20am. I was not called in for my scan until 10:40am and the scan took less than 10min. It is currently 11:30am and I am still waiting for my CD with the images..... Front desk staff was a one-woman show. Although she wasn't the most friendly, I applaud her for her composure and politeness in dealing with agitated patients due to the long wait times. The technician was also polite but does not take the time to explain the process and what to expect. It was my first time getting a CT scan so it would have been nice if they offered a brief run through of the process. Avoid this place if you value your time. read more

Long review short- Hold them accountable for the time slot you are scheduled I will should've read the reviews before coming here. The most disturbing of all my appointment was for 9:30am, I arrived at 9:20am and I've waited in the lobby over 2!!!! Hours now to get X-rays that only took 10 minutes. When I asked when I will be called I was told "shortly", then I asked about 30 min later I was told "10 min" now approaching another hour and still waiting. I agree with a recent review, the staff at front desk aren't friendly at all. FYI if the staff were friendly the wait would at least be more pleasant but either way 2hours is ridiculous. The techs were respectful and pleasant would've given more stars because of them but the wait and the front desk is 1star. Besides the new aesthetics of the building, the office should spend some of their money to train the front desk properly. read more

Extremely unprofessional. Made an appointment a month in advance just for it to be cancelled a little over an hour before. Did all the necessary paperwork, removed my many facial piercings and left work early just for my appointment to be cancelled last minute. They offered me a new appointment a month out from now but when how soon I can return to regular work duties and what type of physical therapy I should be undergoing depends on my MRI results, it's unfortunate. My original appointment was at 9:15 and last minute when sending my confirmation it was all of us a sudden at 8:30. Whatever. Seemed like a small difference. Then while on my way there was a really bad car accident and I made it to the location at 8:43. The first girl who helped at the window was very nice big once I was taken back I was being given instructions that had already been clearly given to me in my pre appointment paperwork but when I mentioned I was aware of the information the guy goes "oh I'm just a student who works here sorry" but he also was the one who was prepping me for my MRI by placing the equipment and padding on me which he couldnt even do effectively because they had to be adjusted 3 times meaning they pulled me in and out of that MRI machine over and over. Also, I had 3 MRIs scheduled and after my first two the snotty MRI tech who was helping the student said "ok go back to the waiting room, I'm gonna give another patient her MRI then bring you back in" and when I asked if we could just finish then her response was " well you were late and she was on time so she gets to go next." I am less than impressed with the care quality and even more disappointed in the attitude of the staff. This company is unethical. At my visit they asked upfront for my copayment of $760 since i had not met my deductible. I paid it. couple of months later when i received my EOB (Explanation of Benefits) i realized that my copay including deductible, should have been $560, not $760. I called their Billing Dept and said that i had not received my credit for the $200 overpayment. The rep said that the patient has to ask for the credit otherwise no automatic credit/payment correction would be made. That is so unethical! They had 2 months to issue a credit. I'm sure i am not the only patient that overpaid. Had I not paid close attention they would have continued to keep my $200 overpayment. They most probably have done that to many more patients through the years. I find that very unethical. This is a big company, they should have better quality control and fraud protection in place. They simply don't care to pay people the over charges. They want to keep all that money for themselves. Be aware. read more

The staff is very professional, efficient, patient, & thorough with my senior mom & her needs of needing assistance when walking to do her MRI, answering questions, rescheduling when it was busy & long wait in the office, & attentive to explain details of steps & procedures to prepare. Negligent. Didn't provide sound reducing head phones like every other place. Didn't show me how to place foam ear plugs and MRI tech didn't check them for proper placement and so they were useless. Exposed someone with hearing loss and tinnitus to 100+ dB which per CDC can cause hearing damage in less than 5 minutes. I tried to file a complaint with ACR accrediting agency and Radsite which are both shown on your Torrance website page only to find out the Torrance location is accredited by neither. Thanks for worsening my tinnitus by not following the standards. read more

After reading the reviews I am not surprised with the experience I had. Before reading further, do not use SimonMed! I had my doctor fax my work order for a CT Coronary Calcification Test twice. After being on hold for 20 minutes I was routed to billing. I then tried scheduling via chat which was unsuccessful as they couldn't find the work order. Overall I spent over 1 hour of my personal time and I still don't have an appointment. If they are this inept on the front end I can't imagine how bad the service and the images are. read more

Can we review less than 1 ? UNPROFESSIONAL, INCOMPETENT, UNSAFE , INCONSIDERATE...Why am i needing to ask the Tech to please put on sanitary gloves before handling IV equipment and administering an IV on my arm. This is BASIC Medical Safety protocol. NOT HERE..!! Aside from the Administration Office failings and common Appointment screwups, when Basic safety measures are not adhered to, one has to ask, Why am i in this place ? What country is this? I wish i had read the previous comments from other patients/customers. The TECH asks me if this MRI procedure is SAFE with my condition. He has my full medical history and is asking ME ?!! He finally says "Let me ask the Boss" Who is this Boss that allows a tech to proceed UNTRAINED to tend to patients ? Shouldn't he already know what is safe and unsafe and NOT be asking the Patient ? Finally after screwing up the IV and the nurse asking the nurse if the MRI Tech ...wanted to give it a try, I finally said NO and pulled a plug on this Cluster#$%^..and told them we are done. I wouldn't let them do this treatment on my Dogs. They said OK go ahead and leave...after literally ripping the IV out of my arm and bare placing a gauze pad over the hole and walking away without applying ANY pressure to the IV Vein puncture. I had to apply my own pressure on the wound because the MRI and Nurse walked out and left me on my own. The MRI tech returned minutes later with a piece of scotch tape to apply to the gauze pad. No compression tape , no assistance down from the MRI table, just abandon ship in anger and haste. This place should NOT be in Business. I have already notified ALL my Medical Professionals about this Business and Location. They too are in shock and will not refer anyone here any longer. BEWARE. read more

Oh my god, please save yourself and stay away from this particular location. I had an MRI at another (location/city) it was a very good experience but they sent me here for my brain CT scan. I've been suffering for three months with health issues and the diagnosis has been very slow, finally I get an apt to go here. I'm on time and was called in fast but once inside for the prep is when all hell broke loose. The technician called me in walking by my side very slowly I noticed he didn't look healthy at all at this point I'm concerned over his slow speech and movements, once inside I begin asking questions just as any patient would with some concerns over the contrast that I'm supposed to get for the specific CT scan for my head. My questions were basic but the technician turned around and told me that I was making him nervous as he was trying to put the IV in my hand while shaking. Finally the IV is in my hand and he gives me the contrast still shaking. He went outside on his computer and begin the test, about eight minutes maybe into the testing he comes back totally gets me up still shaking and tells me that I need to reschedule the appointment because my body rejected the contrast. when I questioned him to explain what is going on he then told me "well I don't know, the Ct Scan machine just stopped working". He basically showed me the door to the exit and said please go and reschedule and left me hanging. I was shocked, I cried. I came outside and talked to the girl at the front office asking her what the hell just happened I told her I've been sick for three months and daily disorientation, feeling sick, not being able to get out of the house, but yet we drove under the rain for almost 2 hours from the valley going all the way to Torrance for this specific appointment, and now he's telling me that my body rejected the contrast or maybe the machine didn't work???? Even the girls couldn't figure out what was going on and there was no explanation other than I am sorry I am sorry I am sorry. Having no other choice and I refused to go to the same place with the same technician who needs medical help himself. I asked to be scheduled at another location. Please don't waste your time with this place, if the same technician will do your test, he's slow, unfriendly, scared of medical questions, he shakes he should not be working there as a technician and waste peoples time when we are already suffering with our health issues of the unknown and waiting for answers. read more
