Labcorp is a laboratory testing office and this is one of many Labcorp locations in Los Angeles…read more This Labcorp location in Redondo Beach is pretty busy as the Beach Cities Health District is located near the office. I came here for a routine lab tests. [Parking]: Easy and free designated parking garage. No issue finding a parking at 8:45 AM on a weekday. The office is located on the 3rd floor. [Check-in]: I booked an appointment ahead of time. I initially tried to check in via one of kiosks (have driver's licenses or government issued ID ready), but I noticed somehow my check-in was a walk-in visit (visitors can see the status on the overhead TV screen). So I checked in again using the link given on my text message instead (Labcorp will send the link 24 hours in advance) and this time it worked wonderfully. Checking in using kiosks can be a big risk as the visit could turned an on-time appointment into a nightmare walk-in situation (could be waiting for hours) - so use the link given via the text message! [Note]: Friendly phlebotomist and staff at the front counter. Phlebotomist recommended drinking a gallon of water before the blood drawing - two glasses of water before sleeping and two glasses of water after waking up (drinking water helps phlebotomist having an easier to find veins). [Conclusion]: I was able to complete the whole process in 25 minutes. Expect a solid 4-star experience if everything is executed correctly from scheduling an advanced appointment, checking in via the link on the text message, and arriving on-time.

I used the restroom while waiting. When I did see the technician I'm told that I must have a full bladder to do this procedure so now I'm told to drink 2 large glasses of water and wait Again. No one tells me it's going to be an hour before my bladder is 'full' so now I'm waiting an additional hour on top of the 40 I've already waited. When I asked why no one let me know about The full bladder needed I was told there was a voicemail left and I should have gotten that. They said I should also know which test I'm getting...now mind you no one bothered to circle the test I was getting on the paper so that I would Know. I said I understand but I never received the voicemail only an email which I used to confirm my 10:05 AM appointment. I said that it would have been nice to mention when checking in. The way I was treated by the receptionists is not what I expect from a professional office taking my money for a service. i understand everyone has bad days but todays bad day was at my expense and with no regard or apology from anyone working in this office. A little kindness goes a long way... PS The technician was great and very kind.

The first 30 minutes = $2.00 and each additional 30 minutes thereafter = $1.00. Daily maximum = $10.00. Don't forget to stamp the ticket at the Quest office counter before leaving. Otherwise, there should be plenty of free street parking if you come early enough and don't want to worry about parking validation. [Process]: There were no receptionists at the counter at 8 AM. Visitors can use the kiosk to check in or use the online check-in link provided in the email. I clicked the online check-in link and it took less than a minute to complete the process. I arrived at 8 AM and was done in less than 10 minutes after checking in. To my surprise, I didn't have to make a fist and the phlebotomist was still able to complete the blood draw within minutes. The waiting room also has a screen showing the number of customers currently being served and the number of customers with scheduled appointments within the next 60 minutes. [Lab order]: I forgot to bring a physical printout, but the phlebotomist was able to locate a digital copy by searching my name and birthday. Otherwise, customers can email a copy to PSCCWK@Questdiagnostics.com. [Conclusion]: A fairly efficient process when everything aligns from having an appointment scheduled to having the lab order ready.

About the only thing I don't like about this medical center is that you have to take a ticket when entering the parking lot and need to remember to stamp your ticket before leaving the office in order to avoid paying for parking. This is the only medical center in the area that tries to charge people for parking. Not the fault of Quest though.

After waiting more than two hours, my husband was turned away without having his blood drawn because they claimed our medical insurance was inactive. That information was completely incorrect. I had seen the doctor the day before, had my blood drawn, and even picked up my prescribed medication using the very same insurance. I immediately called our insurance company, and they confirmed our coverage was active. Instead of taking a few minutes to verify the information with the insurance provider, the staff simply told my husband his insurance was inactive and sent him away. My husband even explained that I was outside and could have clarified the situation immediately, but no one made any effort to help. Now we have to return and go through the process all over again. Unfortunately, we will not be returning to this location. The office appeared to have only three employees, and while I understand staffing challenges, the lack of organization, poor communication, and unhelpful attitudes made for a very frustrating experience. Patients deserve better customer service, better time management, and staff who are willing to verify information before denying care.

Today I received bad care. I'm really surprised because I usually feel safe and taken care of. The…read morephlebotomists at my previous law draws were cordial, friendly, and gentle. I literally had blood drawn and I didn't even know they stuck me. For over a decade I've had to get regular blood draws from several facilities and many many blood draws when I had cancer. I got needle anxiety from all that poking but I always felt minimal or no discomfort. But today Jorge seemed hellbent on making me feel uncomfortable and insignificant. 1. Rushed me when I was opening my purse to retrieve the ID and insurance card he already asked for 2. Did not acknowledge said cards when I handed them to him. He snatched them from me and walked off without a word 3. He did not ask which arm I preferred for lab draw. In all my entire life as a human being the person who takes my blood ALWAYS asked which arm they could use. Even in a busy Emergency Department they take the time and space to ensure my patient rights and autonomy are honored. I was stunned into silence. But luckily for Jorge he chose the correct arm. 4. He setup and jammed the needle into my arm. No warning. No preparation AT ALL. He just stick me and I was in a lot of pain. I wanted to cry or yell or yank my arm away. I didn't. But I did let him know k was in a lot of pain. He didn't apologize or even seemed like he cared. 5. I asked why didn't he tell me that he was going to poke me. I don't like needles. Having survived cancer and all that poking and poking left me wary of blood draws. EVERY SINGLE BLOOD DRAW BEFORE TODAY has included anticipatory guidance. Jorge said he hadn't heard of it and some people prefer to be poked without being told in advance. I explained that anticipatory guidance is important and he should've given me a choice to have a gentle warning instead of an out-of the-blue painful jab. Another patient overheard our conversation and she wholeheartedly agreed that anticipatory guidance is important. She even explained what it meant since Jorge claimed he was never taught this concept. 6. Jorge shows me a blood tube and asks me to confirm my name. By this point I have no trust in this man. He seems hostile for some reason and is short with me. I'm still upset from his painful treatment of my arm. I ask to visually inspect the tube label closely since I didn't have my glasses. Then I ask to see the remaining tubes which he hands to me....lies them on the table ... when I ask to inspect all of them. I don't trust him and wary of his attention to detail at this point. This review will not be a surprise to him because I told him this was the worst blood draw ever and I've dealt with constant poking with cancer. I was forever being poked and it made me never want to see a needle again. Not because of pain but just emotional wear and tear of that phase in my life. Today when Jorge hurt me it made me feel unsafe because I wondered if had deliberately held back gentleness or a technique to prevent discomfort and anxiety. He was in a funk and I paid for it. If he had further complaints the lab draw station should seriously consider if he's in the appropriate role. And ithe other patient gave me a pittying look. She concurred that she prefers anticipatory guidance to help prevent anxiety and feat of being poked. But nope. Jorge only responded that some people don't wanna know. Well I do and that's my right

He did swab my arm with an alcohol swab, but inserted the needle immediately after, causing a more intense stinging sensation.
