This area is very clean and well taken care of and has a beautiful architecture that really brings the area together. I really like the peaceful and quiet nature, atmosphere, and vibe of this area that seems to be an oasis in the middle of the city. There are plenty of benches and sitting areas here to take advantage of and sit and really enjoy the garden. I have really enjoyed being able to come here and take in the beauty of the garden on a regular basis.

This park has a lot of cool flowers and plants and is a nature and garden place that is fun to smell, enjoy, and be around. I was able to find a few surprises at this park and had a really fun experience here as there is much that this park has to offer. I am happy that there is so many cool parks in Charleston and this is one of my new favorites that I look forward to being able to come back in the future and enjoy some more.

The parking sign about parking patrons can be confusing, but just ignore it. Anyone can park there for free, and we had no problems staying for more than two hours. You also have access to the docks, although the one where the boats are kept has a lock combo, so if the gate is not already open, then you cannot access that particularly one unfortunately.

I usually call it the "Summerville Square"…read more(not sure if that's the official name), but right in the heart of historic Summerville, local small businesses set up festive Christmas displays, and it's always so nice to see. Our favorite tradition is grabbing something hot to drink and taking Luna for a walk through the area to check everything out. The displays change every year, which keeps it feeling special and worth revisiting. There's usually a Santa's sleigh where we grab a photo, and of course the big star display--people are always impressed that we can take Luna off leash to pose for pictures and that she stays perfectly focused, even with all the noise, crowds, and activity around her. It's a great reminder of how important proper pet training is. Luna can tune everything else out and stay locked in on her commands, no matter the setting. And honestly, this is achievable with any dog--regardless of age or breed--with consistency, patience, and training (which often has more to do with the human than the dog). Such a festive, feel-good spot and a wonderful way to support the local community during the holidays.

My suggestion is come early to snag parking and that's the only not thing to really watch out for. The playground boasts tons of different areas with opportunities to swing, climb, bounce, roll, and explore. I loved the variety of activities and things to do. I also love that the playground is mostly covered which makes the sun or some drizzle not a big deal. There are some areas outside the playground to sit and eat. I'm not sure about the process for booking an area or if you have to, but it's a solid place for a party. This is now a weekend staple!
