I went to That Meetball Place, in Patchogue, with a group of girlfriends for the wine caddy class. They had us set up in the back room. Besides our group there were three other people. It was nice to be mostly us. When booking there were some issues with differences in pricing. I called though and they took care of it giving me the lower listed price. The caddy's come put together. I thought we would build them as well so that was disappointing. I guess it would have taken too long. We stained the wood and dried it and then she came around with a pre made stencil with your phrase and you painted it. Really wasn't that much to it. Anyone could do it but it was fun as a girls night out. The instructor was professional and organized. She did a nice job. I would book another class with this company. read more

Ordered my custom farmhouse table from SLD. The pictures don't even do it justice!! Danielle and Dan are incredible. Very upset with my experience with this company. I was recommended by a friend who had work done with them. Drove to the store with my husband (first week of August) to chat about a few pieces being made. Danielle was too busy at the store to help so we took her card to send an email as to what we were looking for. Obviously while we were there we shopped around and bought a few things for our home decor. The first time I emailed Danielle, took me 40 minutes to type up measurements, insert photos, list questions. The reply I received was, "Hey call me on my cell phone". This turned into a phone tag scenario, finally, I called and was able to get through: I could tell Danielle was calling from the road and half listening. I also could tell she didn't bother reading my email because she basically said they were too busy and to simply tell her the measurements over the phone. We ended the call by her telling me she would send me over some photos of inspiration as to what I'm looking for and what they made for clients in the past. She did mention that they were in the process of opening a new store and currently there's a 10-12 week wait from deposit date for items to be made. I never received any photos of inspiration. No response to my email. I sent a reminder text just asking if someone would be able to come out and check out my space (since I could tell email with photos and dimensions was unanswered) no answer. THEN about a month later Danielle texted me asking if I was ready to leave my deposit? Yes, I was completely taken aback by a request for a deposit when she has yet to establish what I'd be looking for! I attempted to call and text Danielle two weeks ago (now October)I could tell my messages were read and still no answer! read more

You're paying a premium for everything in this store. Even when compared to similar stores on the island. It's annoying but it is what it is. I do like the products they sell and It didn't really bother me until my last visit. The problem I have is how cheap the store comes across. They already have a 4x mark up on almost everything but still have to remove the off-brand batteries from it's LED candles? These are the same candles you get at Michaels, Homegoods, Amazon, etc. They are already overcharging for them - you can't just include the USED off brand dollar tree batteries? I mean.. come on. I always walk out of here (reluctantly lol) spending hundreds of dollars. My last experience really turned me off and I doubt I'll be back. I rather take out a second mortgage for a tank of gas and head to Lancaster myself. read more

DIY (SHE ISN'T KIDDING) Beach Glass: thank goodness we were with friends, we had food, and laughed about the lack of interest (by the instructor) to the paid participates attending...the instructor forgot her microphone (if you are expecting 80 people that should be the first thing to pack), she yelled out, very quickly, with her back towards us a slew of steps (left out stir slowly so you don't get bubbles, sprinkle the sand, and other necessary steps). She didn't even repeat the directions. People all around the room were looking at her bewildered! While we were all working she was drinking a margarita and eating dinner in the other room. There was one assistant (we wish we would have gotten her name), that was super helpful. THANK GOODNESS FOR HER. Even though the event was listed to be from 7:15-10;15pm, she started at 7:25 and said we would be done by 9pm (people began leaving by 8:30pm) then proceeded to constantly come around asking if we were done to collect our things. We felt quite rushed. The fee for the 5x7 frame came to a total of $38 (not worth it!). The frame we were provided with probably cost .99 cents, isn't glass and has no stand. Recommendations: Tooth picks to move around the objects being placed on resin, wipes for your hands, a tray (to carry all the cups, call people up in groups to get objects, not all at once, and perhaps a small box to carry craft home in. Also, make sure there is adequate lighting in the location where the session is taking place. Half of the women in the room used their phone flashlights to see what they were doing. If you are going to shout out directions or don't want to interact with the participants then just print directions out for everyone. We've been to many painting parties: mason jars painting, paint nights, board painting, etc. I never had to write a negative review. What a big disappointment. read more

Can't say enough about this place . Love everything about it . A small business definitely beats any big box stores.
