Despite clearly explaining what I needed, they scheduled me with the wrong provider. Within minutes of the appointment starting, the physical therapist told me he wasn't the right person and referred me to a different therapist. That was the entire visit. Rebound then billed me over $200 for an appointment that existed solely because they scheduled me with the wrong provider. I wasn't asking them to waive the cost of the treatment I actually received afterward. I paid for those visits because I received value. I simply asked them to take responsibility for what was clearly a scheduling mistake. Instead, I spent three months trying to speak with management. I was repeatedly told someone would call me back, only to finally be told that because the appointment was on the schedule, I was responsible for the charge. That response completely misses the point. The issue isn't that the appointment was scheduled. The issue is that Rebound scheduled me with someone who immediately acknowledged he wasn't the right provider for the care I specifically requested. Mistakes happen. What separates great healthcare organizations from average ones is how they respond when they make one. Unfortunately, Rebound chose to stand behind a billing policy instead of doing what was fair.
