    Really disappointed I have to write this review. I have reached out to Lizeth multiple times to get my state tax return documents. We had an appointment in March and it was very busy so she asked if she could email me my corrected state return (I'm not a NV resident) the next day so she could keep her appointments. I agreed. What a mistake. I have emailed, called, and texted. I'm probably out the money I ALREADY PAID FOR THIS SERVICE and I am considering contacting the BBB. I will be telling everyone to avoid this company. The number on the website is disconnected.

    Terrible business. I got disconnected twice during my first two phone calls, without a call back…read more Back each time to calling a receptionist, she casually admitted a problem with their phones??? Then finally I became a customer, but they wouldn't let me speak to an actual tax person to see if I was a "fit" until I paid them $240.00 deposit. I felt "wow, this must be a professional outfit, or a scam job". Then John called and was fine on the phone and we got my calculation figured out for a RMD distribution amount that I needed to withdraw from my Fidelity account. I was in their chat system by this point which seemed like a better communication style and their preferred method, which REQUIRES that you enter a PORTAL, which was fine, so long as they actually got the job done. Next, I asked what my balance was to see if my $240.00 was all spent from this one transaction or not, and to start to get my tax stuff together for him. I literally NEVER heard back from them. Also, and to conclude, John said during our initial conversation that doing an MLP stock tax form would not be a problem. Long story short, I never heard back about my balance, and I guess making that first calculation done spent the entire deposit (but don't expect a receipt or invoice showing anything from them). So I went to TurboTax for my taxes and paid an extra 50 bucks for "Expert Assist" and got my entire taxes done with extreme competence and the tax person was awesome. I am sure that Jacks would have charged me many times what TurboTax charged me, and I was just completely left with a bad taste in my mouth from the whole experience. I have no idea if my $240.00 was all spent with one calculation or not, and I'm sure I will never find out, but my TurboTax bill for doing all of my taxes, along with calculating a very complicated K-1 form and 1099s was less than $240.00 My experience was totally "jacked up". I met Michelle. We talked for a few minutes and I made an appointment for the next day. We talked and I gave her all the necessary paperwork needed. I returned 3 days later. Everything was ready and perfect. I made the right choice by using Jack's and Michelle was great. Yes, I will return every year. Thanks Michelle. Richard

    We have a fairly complicated return every year (Ex-Pat income, 4 investment accounts, small…read morebusiness) and Tax Samaritan was by far the cheapest options when I priced Ex-pat taxes. I have never had a single issue with them. I used them last year even though my return was prepared by Deloitee through my company and they managed to find about $3K in deferred savings from extra taxes we had paid previously to a foreign government. I cannot recommend Randall enough, we will likely be customers for life.

Tax Samaritan got me in with the promise of experienced tax professionals but from what I can tell they use the same people that get hired by H&R Block. In the beginning, I spoke to Randall Brody who did the sales portion then after I sent my $660.00 (Which to me is a lot of money) little to no communication at all. February 1st to February 12th I uploaded documents into a platform they use which is like an online forum. Then February 15th I was told I need to sign a power of attorney to allow them to look up IRS transcripts... I uploaded this the very next day. Tax S. said it takes 7-10 business days to get the transcripts. Now here is March 4-7 and I'm leaving messages with this secretary... FUNNY STORY.... She/he whoever it is that day doesn't actually work in the office. For some reason, they can only access one person's number (Randall Brody) who for some reason is never available to talk to. ANYWAY March 9th I get an email from a woman (Trisha) who says: Hi Peter, my name's Trisha, and I'm working alongside Randall on your returns. Just wanted to let you know that we've just received the transcripts from the IRS that we requested, which we needed to be able to piece together things for you. We'll be taking a day or so to review them, and it should be fairly straightforward from here. Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions! Well, I wait till March 16th to write an email and then March 21st to call and basically call them and swear out the secretary because for some reason that's the only way I can get a f***ing call back or anything. Then I'm told they have been looking at the wrong transcripts and I need to wait a day for some kind of information on when/what/how much I owe/etc. ***20180322 Update*** I received an apology from Mr. Brody and a full refund $660.00.... "Hi Peter, it is apparent that we have not satisfied you and we haven't met our own internal level of service standards when t comes to our engagement with you. As such, we do have a 100% satisfaction guarantee and would like to offer you a 100% refund should you like to work with another tax firm. Please advise how you'd like to proceed and I can accommodate" Randall
