Unfortunately, that trust has been lost due to the lack of communication, professionalism, and transparency we have experienced. After our taxes were prepared, we discovered there was a significant difference between the refund amount we were originally told and what was reflected by the IRS. We immediately reached out multiple times by phone and text asking for an explanation and simply requesting communication. We were not asking for anything unreasonable we just wanted answers and an understanding of what happened. Despite multiple attempts to contact her, we still have not received any direct communication, phone call, or explanation. We were later informed through an email that our tax return had been amended, but we were never given a clear explanation of what was changed, why it was changed, or any opportunity to discuss the situation beforehand. This has been extremely disappointing and stressful. When you trust someone with something as important as your taxes, you expect honesty, professionalism, and communication. Unfortunately, that is not the experience we have had. We made every effort to resolve this privately and gave multiple opportunities for communication. We simply wanted answers and transparency, but we continue to be left without an explanation. Future clients deserve a tax professional who values communication, keeps clients informed, and takes their concerns seriously. Based on our experience, we would not recommend using this tax preparer. I truly hope this review encourages her to communication so we can finally resolve this matter. We never wanted it to get to this point. A simple courtesy call or honest explanation could have prevented a lot of frustration.
