On a website titled Smashing the Glass I found the most PERFECT and AMAZING Party Planner, Farrah Singh Kauffman of Simply Azure Events. To begin with, Farrah is very calm, kind-hearted, intelligent and very organized. When I first contact her in early winter, she listened to my story and then explained what was involved in a "Day-of" planner. I enjoyed speaking to many of the other planners but each one seemed to talk very fast, they were very excited - so full of enthusiasm. This exuberance was too much for my already busy mind; I was looking for someone who was very peaceful. Even Farrah's email response was calming. Farrah's contract/package was easy to understand, though she was to be a "Day-of" planner; she turned out to be so much more - she was my lifeline! I had already signed the venue Gallery 1028 and their dedicated caterer Calihan Catering, the florist Jori Foreman of Fab Flora, and Kpoene Kofi-Bruce of Mignonette Bridal, an heirloom wedding dress re-vamper (my daughter was going to wear the dress my mother wore in 1958, I wore in 1985 and later my sister would wear in 1990). Most of the vendors were in downtown Chicago. From December on, Farrah kept us on-track. She read each contract, even alerting us to any quirks. She suggested vendors we hadn't yet signed including David Florczak of Posh Production for lighting. My daughter found a photographer from Santa Fe, New Mexico, Elizabeth Wells, and my son-in-law, found the band Big Sadie, who played blue grass. My daughter selected Sweet Mandy B's for the cake and Do Rite donuts for the pre-wedding meal. Farrah explained that, in addition to overseeing the venue set-up, she would be in charge of every item needed for the wedding, this included old family photos, the place cards, decorations and other miscellaneous things. I live 5 hours from Chicago by car. During the planning, I often flew. With each visit I brought more of the pieces. At one point Farrah met us in the suburbs of Chicago to collect some items. Another time I drove in with a friend bringing boxes of items including a mirror, easel, candy, a decorative tree and baskets for the bathrooms. Farrah so graciously collected those items from my family. She went well beyond being a "Day of" planner! As the wedding got closer, Farrah had telephone conferences with the bride and groom she did a walk thru with the caterer and the couple, she contacted the wedding party to be sure everyone knew her and had her contact information and she contacted each vendor to remind and clarify them of their responsibilities. She was amazingly well organized. She even taught us a few things about weddings we didn't know. She also emailed and called each of us periodically to be sure things were going well. The night before the wedding she met us for a rehearsal in downtown Chicago. I might add that Farrah lives in the suburbs of Chicago. For many of the meetings, she drove to downtown Chicago - this is not an easy task, traffic, parking and there's always a festival or parade to clog the streets. Never once did Farrah fail to complete any promised task; she did so many helpful things I can't name them all. I might add that Farrah does everything with a beautiful smile! The day of the wedding we had torrential rain but this didn't stop Farrah and her crew (she had two assistants) from being on time. Due to the storm, my husband and I were delayed about 15 minutes. When we got to the venue for photos (we had the wedding dress and the groom's suit) the rooms were already set-up. She even had a steamer to steam the dress one more time and to steam some suit jackets that got wet in the rain! Everything I asked Farrah, was completed and completed perfectly. If I inquired if something was done, her response was always "done", "yes", "already thought of that, took care of it". She was so much more than amazing and she stayed that way through the entire wedding and as we did clean-up. Farrah was one step ahead of me. She did everything with grace, kindness, and calmness - nothing rattled her. I later found-out the doughnut delivery people couldn't get my Amex to work. Farrah took care to pay for them, she never bothered me, she just worked it out. I later paid her back - wow, she's amazing thoughtful too! I am sure if I looked back at every pre-wedding moment with Farrah and throughout the wedding, I could think of a million reasons she helped make the day so perfect for my daughter and our family. I seriously can't imagine my wedding day/planning without Farrah - she is simply the best and will go above and beyond for the couple she is working for. She will not only help you every step of the way, but by the end of it you will want to be her best friend! Not only is she extremely kind, she is knowledgeable, extremely responsive, and of course just a fantastic wedding planner. Hiring Simply Azure Events was the best money spent in the wedding, and they were so affordable for the amount of work they do... it is hard to put a value to the amount of help/time Farrah put into our wedding. I was someone who was unsure if I really needed a planner at first, but honestly I can't say that my wedding would have been nearly as well and gone as smoothly as it had! Her response rate is unreal, and her care and thoughtfulness in any question I had, big or small, was appreciated. Farrah has great vendor connections - almost all of my vendors came from her expert recommendations and we were extremely pleased. She was never pushy - she had many ideas and connections - and whenever I mentioned to a vendor that Farrah was my planner they typically responded "Oh, we LOVE Farrah!!". She is well-respected in the wedding world, and her and Candace did a great job on the day-of making sure everything went perfectly. My name is Michael John , I am a professional florist and I specialize in wedding flowers. I have been honing my craft for more than 35 years and in that time have had my fair share of experiences with other Wedding Professionals. I pride myself on my work and the services I provide. Nothing is ever good enough for me until I "feel" it is right, correct and good enough for my own family! After all, there are no "do-overs" at a Wedding and everything has to be perfect! In all my years in the flower industry and although there have been many coordinators hired, very few, if any wedding coordinators, "ever" took the time to contact me, much less as much as she did. Well, I am very happy to say that as soon as I met Farrah, I was immediately impressed and I instantly understood her persistence. You see, Farrah contacted me so many times prior to the wedding and even called me while I was en-route, because she shares the same passion I do for our brides. I, and lest we forget who I am (mentioned above), seldom find the same quality in another professional! We had Farrah as our wedding day coordinator for our wedding this past weekend and she was FANTASTIC! Farrah and her team made sure that every last detail was accounted for, and that the day ran smoothly. Everything went off without a hitch! Farrah was always a phone call, text, or email away during the entire planning process. If it wasn't for her, nothing would have been possible! Farrah was simply perfect. This is from the mother of the bride perspective. We had planned a special surprise for our daughters wedding. Farrah was wonderful in helping plan this surprise. She is easy to work with, has a great personality and pays attention to every detail and was appropriately dressed. I was happy, my daughter was at ease. Farrah checked in with both the girls and the guys making sure everyone had something to eat and was hydrated for the outdoor wedding. She made sure the outdoor space was perfectly set. We had one other surprise, we had a live artist Michael Latala, at the wedding to paint my daughter and son in law as they exchanged vows. My husband and I hired Simply Azure for their services on the day of our wedding; however Farrah really went above and beyond what we signed up for. Farrah was amazing and made my life (the bride) so much easier. She certainly made sure that I don't panic before the wedding; she contacted and confirmed all the vendors. Before the wedding we met a few times and were in contact with me via email the entire time. Farrah brought to my attention many things that I didn't think of. The vendors she recommended were all reasonably priced and were very easy to work with. Our wedding was a cultural mix of Persian and Jewish so I worked with Farrah to have her stage the cultural decorations for the ceremony. She also staged and decorated our reception hall. All I can say that our ceremony was beautiful and everyone was in awe and the reception hall looked perfect. The great thing about Farrah is that she is very good at seeing your vision and she will bring it to life. On the Day of, she communicated with me since early in the morning and picked up a few items that I completely forgot on her way to the hotel. She got to the hotel right on time with her assistant and they did a great job putting together all the decorations. I didn't have to worry about anything on that day, all we really had to do was dance and have a great time. I highly recommend Farrah, it is money well spent for the service and care you will get. My husband and I got married in Jamaica on 12-12-12 and wanted to hold a wedding reception back in the U.S. for family & friends who couldn't join us on our wedding day. I personally didn't realize how much work is involved in making sure a wedding party reception goes smoothly & how much time the day of goes into preparation and taking care of all the miscellaneous things that occur throughout the day of the party. I was so glad that I decided to hire a wedding planner "Farrah" from Simply Azure for our Island theme reception 7-13-13. She really helped me in picking vendors/decor & approximate how much to budget since I've never gotten married before to have this experience. Farrah was with me every step of the planning process & she was a life saver the day of the party. I didn't realize how much prep time you need to set everything up, helping the caterers & communication. I realized I would not have been able to pull off a party of 110 guests at our island theme reception with food, music, and dessert without her. She made the party flow nicely since I was continuously greeting guests & enjoying the party. Everyone had such a great time & the wedding reception looked beautiful & Farrah was an integral part in planning, decor, and the person behind the scene that ensures everything works out wonderfully. We hired Farrah for our wedding in late 2012. She did an absolutely fantastic job. She's very professional, organized and she had plenty of great ideas for us. She worked very well with all of our vendors in the days and weeks leading up, and she coordinated everything beautifully on the wedding day. We had one bad episode with a vendor on the day of (not her fault) and she handled it perfectly, and took a ton of stress off of my wife and me. Simply Azure Events (Farrah) provided me with her services as a day-of-coordinator for our wedding, and this was the single most important factor that made our day perfect. She met with me prior to the wedding to iron out details that I hadn't even thought about before, such as a list of people to help set up, the order of the processional and recessional, our parents' roles in the ceremony, and she had great ideas for how I could incorporate an uneven number of bridesmaids and groomsmen. She was incredibly professional, knowledgable, kind, and I felt extremely comfortable about putting her in charge. I had no idea that she would go above and beyond my expectations on the actual wedding day. The day of the wedding, she arrived several hours early to help coordinate the decorations and set-up. I was shocked at the fact that I didn't lift a finger during the set-up, which was very relaxing, and I was able to calm my nerves and spend time with my parents and bridesmaids before the ceremony. This was probably the most valuable exchange I received for her service. Shortly before the ceremony, she coordinated the seating of the parents by pairing them up with our ushers and groomsmen, blocked off the aisle, and cued all the right people so that the ceremony went off without a hitch! I can't even begin to tell other brides how great it was not to have to think about those messy, tiny details that made such a difference. I was able to enjoy every moment before the ceremony, instead of running around crazed and frantic - and that's how it should be for EVERY bride. After the ceremony, Farrah was fantastic in rounding up people for pictures, and leading everyone to the reception. After we cut the first two bites out of the cake, she even took the role of cake cutter (which is something I think a LOT of brides forget about), and served it out to our guests. I can't stress enough what an important role she played for me in our wedding, and it was thanks to her that our day was a dream come true! read more
