Simply Computing was recommended to me by a friend whose background is in computing herself. I needed to have my iMac upgraded from Lion to El Capitan and I was afraid to do it myself. Took it in, and the upgrade was done in a couple of days and no problems. Had a lesson with Jessica to help me with the changes which was excellent. Later problems cropped up with my external hard drive. I spent time on chat with Apple and with LaCie; the conclusion was to try a new cord for the drive. Worked sporadically but wouldn't stay on. Took the hard drive in to Simply and they indicated it seemed to be working fine; perhaps an issue with connections. So I took the computer and the hard drive in last week. Spoke with the technician Thursday afternoon, he indicated what the problem was and said it would be ready to be picked up Friday morning after opening. Picked it up, very reasonable cost for a new "box" for the hard drive. As of this morning computer is working fine and the external hard drive is being recognized and so far doing its job. The people there were very nice and appear to know what they are doing, I will go back. read more

My experience was about as streamlined as it could've been. I researched just about everything about their finance plan and was impressed at the fact that they offer 12 months interest free and that after the first year I could pay the rest off. In addition, after 24 months I am able to return it for the most recent MacBook Pro. The customer representative I dealt with was very nice, respectful, knowledgable AND he returned my phone calls within the hour. Fair warning for everyone, ITS A BUSY STORE. Nonetheless, you will get great customer service once it is your turn. My suggestion to everyone who complained about waiting was to call ahead and book an appointment. This place has a great plan for getting the most up-to-date Apple products for those who need the efficiency and performance that only Apple offers. My go-to place for everything Apple and Mac in Victoria. Great product range, friendly and helpful service. They will order accessories if they don't have them in stock. Tech folks are quite savvy (kudos to LJ!) and sales staff are up to date, friendly, and always make me feel like I"m asking a decent question, even when it may be an obvious (dumb) question. Seen them serving other customers - they explain things in plain English, are knowledgeable and patient. They are so good, I even sent my mother! Kim is the store manager, and he went out of his way to assist with a backup drive that was having a mind of its own! The real gem in the store is Jessica for computers, and she also has a depth of knowledge with digital photography. She's the one that is always smiling! Send your mom to her. My iMac is a 2015 model and was slowing down with age. I therefore requested a replacement of the original hard drive with a new solid state drive SSD. This was to be completed at Simply Computing (Victoria). The work was done efficiently, at a reasonable price, and the performance of the iMac has been greatly improved. My data and desktop were seamlessly transferred and I haven't experienced any problems whatsoever since the process was completed. We have used Simply Computing for the purchase of all our Apple products (iMac, iPads, iPod, and various accessories). The customer service has been nothing short of superior. The free lessons are packed with new tidbits of information and John handles the time so well, ie maximizing the knowledge he shares with every person in attendance. I've been dealing with Simply Computing for years and they have never let me down. Informed, polite, with no hard-sell. They just performed a tune-up on my beloved little MacBook Air that has endured all manner of abuse while riding much of the world in the tank bag of my motorcycle. I've just returned from this week's iCloud seminar and wanted to give my thumbs up to the staff and John for a terrific morning. John explained iCloud very well and even gave a few extra hints on computer safety that were very much appreciated. I received excellent suggestions as to what to think about before making my choice of laptop, and once the decision was made, the data transfer went seamlessly. I have found the free seminars very useful, and I am looking forward to my one-on-one training sessions. I've had good experiences with the people at Simply Computing. They fixed some things on my computer a few years ago, and I had no more problems with those issues. My granddaughter's iPhone 5 had a smashed screen. They replaced the phone not only once, but twice, after the first replacement was found to have a faulty chip. I found the staff to be genuinely kind and knowledgeable, and they were very respectful in their interactions with my 12-year-old granddaughter. Their bottom line is service, not $$. Most impressed with my service experience. The diagnostic was quick and thorough, required ordering and installing a new keyboard under warranty. I was given a clear timeline on the time to order the parts(really quickly thanks) and a time to drop my MacBook off for the actual service. I have bought equipment and accessories at this store. I found staff veto be knowledgable and helpful always. Repairs, few as they are, were done within 2 to 3 days. Sometimes the store is quite busy and so long chats about how to use the browser or a headset aren't always possible. Since a competitor ceased business in 2017, this store has become even busier. read more
