I recently had another visit to Simply Crowns because of some pain that was occurring on a tooth that had a crown put on 3 years ago. They quickly fit Me in their schedule and took some X-rays and determined that my pain was from a root canal RE-infection that was performed before my crown was put on. They were kind enough to write a prescription to help with my pain and write a referral back to the Root Canal Specialist for a possible retreatmect. Simply Crown did not charge me for anything even though it was not their fault. The root canal specialist did charge me for the consultation and the RE treatment. This involved drilling into my crown that Dr. Post put on. I was expecting to pay Simply Crowns for putting in the permanent filling, but once again they got me In and out in 20 minutes without charging me a dime. I had a very bad experience with the Pflugerville Simply Crown location. My Community Care dentist doesn't preform permanent crowns. They do X-rays and refer you to other dentists for complex procedures. After looking at my X-rays , they said all that I needed is a permanent crown. I had no pain on that tooth and I was glad that a new crown was just what I needed. Simply Crowns charges a non refundable fee of $100 which is applied to the cost of the crown. I knew that it was $699 for the crown and that I would need another$599 to complete it. That was pushing it for me but I needed to get it done. Unfortunately, after I was in the chair, Dr. S.Talebloo had other plans for me. She told me that I needed to have a root canal done which was at least another $1,200 which I did not have. My dentist didn't see the need for a root canal. That is why I went to Simply Crowns intending to spend $699. If I was told I needed a root canal, I would not have went to Simply Crowns and loose $100 . I had still another dentist check it and agreed that a root canal was Not necessary. That being the case, I called Simply Crown and explained all this to Kyle -owner- and requested a refund of the $100 . He refused and said he stands behind his employee. He told me that even though the x-ray appears the same for all dentists, they don't all have to conclude with the same solution. I'm not a dentist but if reading an X-ray result is different to every dentist, there is something wrong. read more

I don't do reviews, but am making an exception in this case. I got an (obscene) quote from my usual dentist, so went to Simply Crowns for a second opinion. Dr. P spent considerable time with me doing exam, x-rays, and finding out what my objectives and desires were. He told me I didn't have to have ANY work for now, as my dental health was fine. Then he outlined the options and gave me the choices. We decided that for the long haul, my twenty-plus-year-old veneers would need help, so I signed up for the works. At my appointment, they were totally awesome. His ladies are the best! Given the trauma with prepping ten upper teeth, they made it painless and actually interesting. Installed temporary teeth that fit, looked good and worked perfectly. Today I received the crowns. Hour and a half, painless, and they are BEAUTIFUL! Over the years I've had several root canals followed by the addition of crowns. When I had dental insurance through my company, I never paid anything or very little as I remember it. Now that I am on Medicare, only 50% is covered. So I'm either looking at $1500 to $1800 for which I pay half, or $599.00 for which I pay $300. Even if this crown only lasts half the time of another, I'm still ahead. Cost aside, my experience at Simply Crowns was great. This is all they do and they seem to have it down to a science using 3D imaging to develop a model for the crown, prep you with a temporary and then in 2 weeks come by for the final actual crown. I thought they did a great job BUT a year later the crown fell out while eating pasta and shattered in half when my other teeth came down on it. This can't have been a zirconium crown. I also now live in another state far away, so even *if* they offered to fix it for free I would spend $600 on a plane ticket to get there. Not to mention it chipped two of my other teeth. I returned from a local dentist, one heavily advertised on the radio, with the shock of needing two crowns. They wanted to replace my implant crown, and then crown the tooth in front of it because of some decay between it an the implant. As luck would have it, I picked up my mail as I came home and there was a postcard from Simply Crowns right on top of the pile. Once I recovered from the daze of the sticker shock, I called Simply Crowns to see what it's all about. I spoke with Kyle on the phone the next morning, set up an appointment. I showed up about 10 minutes before my appointment to fill out the usual mountain of repetitive paperwork, only to find they didn't even have a molehill. It was just three pages, two of which were HIPAA and treatment consent notifications and needed only a signature. This left a few minutes to interact with the staff. Truly interesting, and interested. Nice people. Off to get my X-rays, then to the chair...the dreaded chair. Once in the chair, the doctor, Ben, came over and gave me the terrible news. He confirmed the decay the other dentist had seen, and said he needed to poke around a bit on the gums and teeth. He was gentle (insert joke about a television bear here), caring, and explained what he was doing and seeing. The result was the implant was fine and didn't need to be replaced. The tooth in front with the bit of decay would need a crown. He was ready to do it right away, as was I, but I had some things going on over the next few days which weren't conducive to having a temporary crown. No worries, no pressure, no problem. We set an appointment to do it a few days later. What started as a $3000 sticker shock from my "normal" dentist (their discounted price since I'm on their discount plan) ended up as a $599 single crown from Simply Crowns. Not only that, I got a complete explanation as to why it was only a single crown, more than the "I'm the doctor and I said so" explanation. I felt like I was a part of the decision process, instead of being told what I needed to do. Obligatory note about the facility - The place is clean, professional, and looks like an up-to-date modern facility. You don't feel like you're stepping through a time machine into the 80s. I wanted to get 2 old crowns replaced but had been putting it off for years. The reason for the delay was because the quote my regular dentist gave me was so outlandish that I just couldn't see spending that kind of money on something that wasn't broken...yet. I can hardly express how impressed I am with Simply Crowns. I had put off getting a crown for at least a year because my insurance was going to cover only a small part of the $1400 my dentist was going to charge me. My family dentist recommended a crown for a cracked tooth and after looking at the $1200 estimate I decided to go to Simply Crowns for a $599 (total cost) crown. The staff at Simply Crowns were friendly and took many precautions during Covid times. I waited in my car until it was my time to come inside. Dr. Talebloo gave me a very thorough exam and decided that I didn't need a crown at this time. She told me that the position of the tooth was such that she didn't think the slight crack would get worse anytime soon. She told me that if I insisted she could give me a crown, but she said if she was treating her own father, she would say don't get the crown till you really need it. With it being Christmas time not spending an extra $600 was really appreciated. In fact, I offered to pay for the X rays and exam and she said that there was no charge since I didn't get a crown. I was told 10 years ago that I should have a crown on a molar because of a crack in the tooth. I've put it off because the costs are ridiculous. Then I heard of Simply Crowns listening to KLBJ talk radio and liked the idea of a crown for $599. Too good to be TRUE? I called and scheduled a visit.
