I needed to upgrade my computer and the shortcoming was on me that I didn't want to spend an extra $400 at Apple because ultimately I spent that and more at simply Mac. There are not a lot of employees around to help people and they are severely understaffed. You think spending $2500 on a computer and they would answer your every question you might have but no. Give you the wrong answers yes. Tell you they're too busy, yes. Grossly over charge you for every additional service, yes. As much as I prefer Apple, this is just not the place to get any kind of service or repair done much less buy a computer. Oh in in specifics, avoid Andres at all costs (reference at counter). Just there for the paycheck and just not want do his job in any shape form or capacity. read more

I went into the Clearwater, FL location on 11/20/2021 to buy a new MacBook Pro with an M1 chip. They did not have any on display, but had a sign for them next to an older 2019 model with an i9 processor. I asked the salesperson if they had the 2021 models in stock and she said yes. I told her I would like to purchase one and used the sign to show her which specifications of the M1 chip I wanted. She said they had it and checked me out. During this process, we discussed the new chip, I asked her if she thought I'd notice a big difference and she said yes they were much faster, showing that she knew which product I wanted. However, what she sold me was the older 2019 model with an Intel processor. She also sold it to me for the price of the M1 model I showed her. She never once mentioned that I wasn't buying the M1, etc. When I opened it and realized that it wasn't the right computer, I called thinking it was a mistake. I could barely get the words out of my mouth before the person on the phone explained "what had happened," that they were out of stock and I must have gotten confused because there was the one I had nearby. At that point I had never even told him which one I had actually gotten yet. Also, there was no display in their store advertising the model that they gave me, which is ~$400 cheaper than what they sold it to me as. The receipt they provided is not itemized and does not show the price broken down by each item I bought. It also says on the receipt that they will only return opened products for store credit or a 10% restocking fee. None of this was mentioned in the store at any time. These are textbook examples of deceptive sales practices. If you look on the BBB website you will see other reports of them using similar tactics. Unfortunately some may not realize they were scammed until after the return window has closed. In my opinion, it is only a matter of time until a class action lawsuit is brought against this company. Regardless, triple check to make sure what you think you're buying is what they're actually selling you. read more

I bought an $800 dollar electric scooter from this store for my son for Christmas. The tire popped on the first day, no problem. I brought it back into the store so they can help me as I had just bought it not a week prior. They sent me on my way to find a repair shop, which they don't exist in this area. If you try to call simplymac you just get their voicemail (I've called 6 times) and if you try to call their main line it's just as bad, I've not gotten one person on the phone. I'm so thankful I bought my MacBook straight from Apple and not through them as their customer service is non existent. What a huge disappointment. read more

Worst customer experience ever from start to finish. Took iMac desktop in to have a diagnostic done and the front desk person was clueless, chuckling with the repair tech, and visibly high on something. Ultimately, the issue was a failed hard drive, which I had to buy, they installed, but in the process cracked my screen. They had my mac for over 60 days...for a simple procedure. Despite numerous conversations offering to find a new screen or give some financial remediation, the manager "Sam" nor any of her staff would return calls. Now the entire SimplyMac outfit is bankrupt...it is easy to see why. It wasn't the pandemic that did them in (after all they seemingly had plenty of business while the Apple Store in town was closed)...it was awful management and even poorer customer service.
