Love this place. I've been coming here for probably more than two years now. I always make my appointments with Bima. My gel manicures always hold up for 2-3 weeks without chipping. & if you haven't come here for a pedicure, please treat yourself to one. My favorite part every time is the massages, regular pedi includes hot stone massage...& I love and very much appreciate the back/neck/shoulder massages they give while your nails dry. Update: I loved coming here. James is my go to guy but lately he has no time when I am off. So I have had to use other women. Definitely not the same quality. My gel nails have broken off chips in polish. I had one repaired but now it's so much shorter than the rest it looks awful. The polish is lumpy. James cleans out the backside too so it has a nice clean look. The woman use the stone and take off your cuticles. I don't think I will be coming back. So disappointed. read more

Went in for a manicure before my wedding day and they took a drill to my cuticles. I started bleeding on multiple fingers and told them it hurt. The technician seemed unfazed and kept putting powder on my finger to stop the bleeding and continued to use the drill. My nail beds are now red and puffy with scabs. I'm making a doctors appointment to make sure I don't get an infection before my honeymoon. My experience with my pedicure went well. My daughter and I have moved to Branford recently. I chose this place because I read all the great reviews. I will not go again. I wanted a gell polish. They kept insisting that my nails were acrylic, they are my nails. My daughter wanted a simple design. He told her he didn't do designs and didn't ask someone else to do them. So she asked if she could have two colors on each nail, he said no. She got acrylics and a solid color. He used the electric file on my natural nail and thinned it out. Whenever I asked him a question, he looked confused at me. I'm not sure if he can speak English as he tapped when he wanted my hands. He never spoke a word to me. Also, I waited an hour with my nails in remover. They started d oing my nails AFTER my daughter. 1 1/2 hours later. Prices were great, but you get what you pay for. read more

Loved my pedicure, they did a good job- just be careful about the pricing. I was told several different prices- first $70 for a gel French, then I looked online and the base price of a pedicure was $27, they upcharge $5 for gel and another $5 for French gel- which should have been $37... then I got a price of $50.. when I said that still didn't make sense they said there was a $20 upcharge for a French gel pedicure... which made even less sense and still didn't add up to $50 sooooo not sure what was going on there. Great first visit! Everyone in my group was happy with their mani/pedis, nail technicians' service, friendliness, and cleanliness. We booked appointments day before, arrived on time, and they were ready with the foot spas lined with plastic, tools sterilized, and each station was organized and clean. Salon has a lot of natural daylight and feels very open, relaxed, and the people who work there were very chill. I got pedi with regular nail polish. The massage and hot stones were awesome my heels are *brand new*! My nail tech was very careful filing and polishing, sensitive of cuticles and water temp and all around really great. Will definitely go back. If you have a group of friends, I recommend this place - they were very timely and we all got done around the same time, a plus! read more

So disappointing. This used to be my go to nail salon. I went for a dip powder manicure and a pedicure. My pedicure was fine. My nails on the other hand, awful. It took them over 45 mins to get off my previous gel polish that had been on for over 3 weeks from a different nail salon. Then told me I had to tell them I have dip powder on when I get my pedicure which I totally understand. I've never had dip powder so thin before. And my square nails were so pointy that I kept scratching myself. Almost no shaping done. It's now less than a week later and my entire thumb nail of dip powder is completely off. And 3 other nails have chipped and I've had to file them which is now ruining the shape of my nails. I will never be coming back here. read more

The woman who did my pedicure did a terrible, messy job. She kept getting the polish on the skin around my toes, and then insisted that the leftover polish would wash off the in shower. I've never had that happen at any other salon before. I came in for a mani/pedi and left after the pedi because it was so terrible. No apology or anything from the woman or the manager. This used to be my go to salon but then started going elsewhere. I remember them doing great pedicures so I made an appointment for 12:30. The lady told me to sit in the pedicure chair and wait. I waited until 1pm until someone finally came JUST TO TURN THE WATER ON FOR MY FEET TO SOAK. I waited another 10 minutes for someone to start my pedicure. I understand that sometimes you get off schedule but I was waiting 40 minutes and not one single time was I issued an apology or acknowledged. I literally waited 30 min to be able to soak my feet. My girlfriends and I came here before my wedding to get our nails done and for a little relax time. Clean, friendly, perfectionists. They DO use liners in the pedicure tubs, which is a huge plus for me as I can sometimes be described as a germophobe. DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME .. i went on a Tuesday asked for acrylic nails coffin shape with design was charged 58.00 TWO days later two of them broke .. i called on Thursday to get them fixed and the ONLY PERSON to do acrylic was not there . So i went to ask for a refund .. when i got there i was goven an attitude then the manager came out and Said she cant give me a refund but she can fix my nails but use UV gel ... problem solved right .... WRONG the girl did them had to change the shape to square fine what ever but by that time i was already pissed bc i got blamed for getting them to long . I left when they were done . The reshape of the nails was so bad .. and the two that were fixed were TWO DIFfEreNt sizes my pinkies DO NOT MATCh and MY MIDDLe finger do not match i had to file my pinkie down so they looked somewhat okay from far away .. i left bc i had somewhere to be thinking that they would be okay bc they do this for a living ... MY MISTAKE .. I WILL NEVER WASTE MY MONEY THERE AGAIN .. There are many nail salons in Branford, and hands down - this one's the best. The staff is lovely and unlike a number of other "nail stores" (as I like to call them), you aren't bombarded with upsells and the staff is respectful and really nice. As a bonus, they also don't engage in all sorts of banter in a language other than English (always a pet peeve because I think it's rude to ignore your customer). As to the quality of the service - it can't be beat. The prices are moderate and the pedi will last you for weeks. They also didn't blink when my boyfriend came in with me for a couples pedicure - and he liked his first experience so much, that he suggested we do this monthly! I live within a five mile radius of about a dozen nail salons, but I drive 40 minutes each way to get my nails done at Simply Nail & Spa because no one does a gel manicure better. At first, I thought it was a fluke. Other places have done a good job once, and then declined each subsequent time. That's not the case with Simply Nail. They are SIMPLY the best. Every time I go, no matter who I see, my nails are always perfect. They last about 2.5 weeks with minimal chipping (typically the chips are on my dominant hand - my non-dominant hand holds up the entire time). I cannot recommend them enough, and wish I could give them infinite stars! read more

First time there and this chick Patty did my pedicure. It was supposed to be one with hot stones. She used the stones on each foot and leg for barely a minute. As she was doing my pedicure, she clipped skin from the side of my big toe. I looked down because I felt a pinch, and she was pulling a piece of skin that was the length of my toenail! 4 days later and my toe is red, swollen and infected! Also, the 10 minute shoulder massage they're supposed to give you lasted about a minute. Very disappointing and I would not recommend this place! read more

Went in today and has such an amazing experience. I came in a bit early (Sunday) and it wasn't too busy because they had just opened. I was seated quickly in my chair for a pedicure and introduced to my nail technician. I didn't get his name (which I'm so upset about) but he was really sweet and professional. He took his time with everything he did, from filing my nails to my amazing massage. I almost fell asleep in my Chair, I was so relaxed. When he gave me my total I was shocked, $25 for one of the best if not the best pedicures I've ever had. This all included a paraffin treatment, and amazing ten minute massage. I had never been here before but a friend recommended. I couldn't understand the lady when she was giving me information because of her accent and she seemed very frustrated with me. Once I picked what I wanted I sat down, put my headphones on and relaxed. That was until what I can only describe as a burn/electrocution feeling came over my right hand and arm. I pulled it out of the gel drying machine and the guy LAUGHED and point to my headphones saying he wasn't able to communicate with me bc they were on and then motioned my hand to quickly go in and then pull my hand out right away. The feeling in my arm was one I will never forget. It was so painful that if I wasn't halfway through the process I would have walked out. The complimentary chair massage was about 2 mins and when I left no on even acknowledged me. Don't give them your business. read more

Love coming here, great price, clean, friendly staff! You have to make an appointment though, if you don't want to wait. This place is always busy. They do gel nails instead of acrylic, but they don't dip you hand in the gel base. They do it the same way they would do acrylics. So your nails will not break easily. I LOVE that! read more
