I have been a customer of the Storage Center (formerly Shepherd Self Storage) for almost (November…read more2016) 10 years. The Storage Center lists their origin as "Established in 2021", which is true to the sale of the facility. Originally this establishment was locally owned and operated as Shepherd Self Storage. I never had any issue with Shepherd Self Storage. Since The Storage Center took over operation of the facility service has declined and the cost of my unit has gone from $70/month to $132/month. My unit has been broken into twice since 2021. The lanes between the buildings are narrow and frequently blocked by other tenants accessing their units. There are lots of other places out there and I wouldn't recommend The Storage Center.

I decided to drop by Extra Space Storage. This is a big step for us packrats, you know; don't judge me . As I entered, I was immediately greeted by Rita. She's such a lovely lady. But don't tell anyone I said so. My wife might not approve haha. Anyway, she was very knowledgeable. Any questions I asked regarding storage units, pricing and contractual obligation, she answered directly and upfront. It gave me the impression that I wouldn't need to worry about hidden costs and billing surprises. I also met Nikki, with whom Rita was working. They were both a delight and complimented each other. What a team! It was like they fed off of each other's energy. Rita was helpful in one matter and Nikki chimed in on the side. Nikki was helpful in another matter and Rita chimed in on the side. They were a sort of dynamic duo. I actually felt kind of bad, because at the end of day, my attachment to my property overcame my sought to store it anywhere but home. As a result, I did not proceed with getting a unit at Extra Space Storage. However, their customer service is impeccable, especially Rita. She's very personable, and I have no doubt that should I ever break my attachment to sentimental things, she would be my next call. if I could give 0 stars I would Called for the first time…read morelast Friday to reserve a trailer and a truck, got a confirmation email for only the truck. Called back on Monday to confirm the trailer AND truck would be available as requested. Received this email with a rental reservation, what I assumed was confirmation, and went on with my business expecting a call today/the day before the reservation to go over final confirmation. The manager told me the equipment now will not be available until 6 hours after the confirmed/reserved time of 10am. When I told her I assumed the email was a confirmation, she stated "you know what assuming does". I had to reach out 3 separate times, for a confirmed reservation that I got in writing.
