Located right in the front of downtown Hilo with plenty of parking is this lovely boutique that has the best items you can ever want for Aloha Resortwear. Because we were here for Merrie Monarch weekend. They were incredibly well staffed and had a great selection of items but of course their limited pieces were almost sold out by the time we got there. The store is beautiful and they're doing some gift with purchase for every hundred dollars you spend up to $300 (free beach bag tote). There's nothing else like this on the strip so you must stop here if you're in Hilo town for a long time or just a good time. read more

After being first introduced via a wonderful purchase at the Simply Sisters Merrie Monarch Arts and Crafts booth 2 years ago, I ask my mom if I could have a Simply Sisters apparel for my birthday present when we go to Hilo to celebrate for a weekend. I was so excited to go to the actual store for the first time. The sales staff there was amazing! They joined in as additions to my steering committee for items that mom purchased for me. Mom is really good at seeing what designs work well for me. It was so fun to see that the sales staff were in agreement with them and were quick to get other sizes and styles for me when they saw my style preferences. I love the comfortable fit of my first hula skirt and a Cassidy blouse! I tried on other items for future reference on the sizes that worked for me so I can purchase them on-line. I really enjoyed my afternoon in this store. The spirit of aloha is so alive and well in Simply Sisters which is consistent with Hilo's vibe. I love my weekend visits to this incredible town and now this favorite Hilo apparel store! read more

Beautiful everythings! Ironically, my actual sister wanted to visit this store when we had one day in Hilo. Such lovely decor. The Hawaiiana and Polynesian items were lovely. There was gorgeous blouse that reminded me of a Japanese happi coat. It even had pockets! I think I am still regretting not purchasing it. I ended up getting a super soft t-shirt ($25) and a green tote bag with a clutch ($50) that was a map of Hilo. The quality of this tote is consistent with the price tag. Dis buggah gon lass a lifetime! I loved the sense of security I felt with gentleman at the door. Here in Honolulu the shoplifting is getting ridiculous and dangerous. So happy this lovely boutique by local designer Lola Miller was open on Sunday since I only had one day to shop in Hilo. It was my first time hearing about this place but my seatmate on the plane ride over and my girlfriend on Oahu both reocmmended it. It was like I got sucked into a rabbit hole of shopping once I started trying on different outfits and sizes. I was hooked by their Hamajang sale of items marked down due to minor flaws and further motivated by the free tote for purchasing over $200 in Hamajang items. Love the design of the clothing and fabrics and their various textures. You can tell that careful attention to detail and creativity have been sewn into their clothing. I went in looking for a dress to wear to a Big Island wedding and emerged hours later with 3 bags full of stuff. Apparently I had been starved from not having shopped in a while! I had been following Simply Sisters on Instagram for several months. There were a couple of items I was interested so I had messaged them to see if they shipped to the mainland but unfortunately never heard back from anyone - so I was looking forward to visiting the shop when I went to Hilo. It's a small shop but they have a lot of really cute things and their fabrics are beautiful! Unfortunately, they were limited in sizes. A lot of smaller sizes - not many XLs and no plus sizes. They do have some really cute travel bags and handbags and some fun gift items. A cute shop and everyone was really friendly - but I was a little disappointed that I left empty handed! read more

I was visiting Hilo this past weekend for the Merrie Monarch event. Passed this cute store that I have seen before on social media and I did not want to wait in line at the MM craft fair so I decided to stop in before my flight. A lot of the advertised sale items were only XL and above. There was not even ONE men's collared shirts in size large and the $50 I spend on a puakenikeni umbrella seriously stinks! I used it yesterday and it literally smelled like dead fish which I assume is the cheap material used to make it. Cute umbrella but I am beyond ashamed to use it due to smell. I kind of wish I passed on the umbrella and just stuck to the red ginger tie wrap dress I bought instead. read more

Beautiful shop in Hilo, the workers were really helpful and friendly. The owner was In shop that day, and there were a few people in there also. There was also a well known person from Oahu in her shop trying on her clothing. Not once did she greet the people in her shop and said hi. She catered straight to that well known person and paid no attention to the other customers in the shop, which rubbed me the wrong way. They also hardly had any sizes in S and M. I did end up purchasing a dress but after the owner acted in that manner it left a bad taste in my mouth. That's the whole reason I gave it a two star review due to the owners attitude like, if we wasn't good enough to her as that well known person in her store. Wont be supporting this business again. Maybe a hello or welcome to the store would've been nice, not saying hello or greeting customers was a bad taste! read more

Had been a fan of them on Instagram for years so I was very excited to finally visit the storefront while on vacation from Oʻahu. Growing up, i used to love walking the Hilo bay storefronts so I was very excited. I loved their designs and prints however, I did not appreciate being hovered and followed around the store like I was about to steal something. I'm giving them grace because I had just come from the airport so I was sporting a large travel tote (carrying a very expensive camera that I didn't want to leave in the rental car) and an oversized hoodie but the other stores leading up to Simply Sisters were very nice with great customer service, so I doubt my partner and I looked suspect. If my attire did make me look "suspicious" enough to discriminate against me, the worker made it VERY obvious by blocking off the exit way whenever I was near it and lingering about 3-5ft away from me in a tiny 200 sqft room. I was so uncomfortable that I sat down in their seating area to get away from them while waiting for my partner to finish trying on the button-up he had picked out. In the short 10 minutes we were in there, I felt very belittled and my entire experience was ruined. Again, cool designs incorporating the feeling of Hawaiʻi (my fav was the ʻulu) but I just wouldn't shop there in person ever again. Hopefully they are much nicer to you when you visit! read more

Support Local! Despite some of the unwavering comments, this brand and local company never ceases to amaze me. I have always been greeted by the staff in such a kind, welcoming, manner. Each of the ladies working there ensure that I get the help that I need each time--I have never had an experience that was below par. As a few other comments mentioned to have visited during periods of time where the shop was busy-- I have also been in the situation, and while the owners were busy, they still made efforts to greet myself and other customers during that time. I believe it's important to note that the staff and owners are human--we can't please everyone as we all make mistakes. During those busy times, it's easy to be swept up in all the craziness. Previously working in retail myself, I can attest to this. Please be kind-- give the company a chance to share their Aloha and know that they are certainly trying their best to improve and grow as a whole! read more

I started buying because I thought the patterns were nice. Limited sizes per style so I would get up early for the releases to buy. The latest situation really turned me off. They advertised swing dresses and a particular ohia lehua top on their IG for the release on 6/18/21. But as soon as the release sale opened no size small and the ohia lehua top was not listed. I get up early for this and am so disappointed. What made me more upset was that I questioned the above on IG in a comment and my comment was deleted and not answered. I don't know if IG glitched or this company deleted my comments. I suggest listing if any size will not be available ahead of time and only advertising styles that will actually be part of the sale. read more

I've sent several emails and follow up emails in the past month and a half without receiving a response. I'm reaching out regarding a gift card issue and they have not responded. Terrible customer service and will be filing a chargeback since they will not respond or remedy the issue. I am out about $130. I gave them the benefit of the doubt to at least respond (cause the holidays can be busy), however, it is ridiculous at this point. I wanted to support a small business, and instead they took my money and did not activate the gift card. Take your business elsewhere. Will update again if I ever hear back. read more
