After speaking to the sales lady about her and me wanting to add to the box, she walked throughout the store with me and helped me pick out the perfect things to add to make it perfect. This was a couple weeks after losing her and my husband and I were still very emotional about it and she was so caring and even looked at her picture and commented on how beautiful she was. It was such a positive experience that I know other stores would not have provided us and the box came out better than we could have even imagined. Thank you!

NO ONE HAS EVER CALLED. I called again several times today NO ONE ANSWERED. Never again Michael's. Hobby Lobby gets my business from here on out!!!

The owner was so helpful the entire time we were in the shop. She gave us a tour, answered all of my moms questions about starting felting, and even printed out a helpful sheet for her. I had called and left a message about the hours and she was so sincere when she replied and apologized for taking so long replying. There are classes being offered every month on different topics. They also have a nice area at the front of the store to sit and knit. She welcomes open knitting when she is open. I believe she so just added a late night knitting on Thursday nights. I cannot wait to see how this shop grows!!

Friend and I googled yarn shops in the area and Yarn on Front came up, so off we went to Dowagiac. This little shop is a gem. It was exactly what I was looking for. Unusual yarns from trusted yarn companies. And the owner (?) was very friendly and helpful. When I told her I did a lot of knitting for charity she directed me to the discount yarn bins. There was everything from affordable yarns for every day knitting to the "wow" yarns that one only buys for special people and occasions. Another customer came in and we joked about our yarn stashes (huge but always room for more). Very friendly people! I ended up buying more yarn than I planned just because I was so comfortable with the shop. The choices of needles was huge so I was able to get a circular knitting needle that I had been looking for. It's too bad I don't live in the area as I'd be back here a lot, buying more yarns to add to my stash. It's a lovely shop.

The Knit Knack Shop is a mom & pop business with supplies and helpful information for knitting…read more Although they cater to machine knitters, It's where I get my yarn to make all of my crochet & hand knitted baby blankets I give as gifts. These baby blankets are always well loved as they are super soft for babies. I normally use 1 end Cotton Tale 8 (100% Cotton) & 1 end Micro Tamm (100% Microfiber Acrylic). They are perfect together. The cotton shrinks a bit when it's washed, and the microfiber gets very soft. Since the cotton shrinks a little, it makes for a nice solid blanket without holes (unless you make it lace). Sometimes I will use Bebe if I'm looking for a different color than is available in Micro Tamm. But most of my gifts are in white; sometimes other colors. They all machine wash & dry really well, and they are stain resistant in my experience. Sometimes I crochet & sometimes I knit the baby blankets. The best is that I only need to get 1 cone of each to make a baby blanket - that means I don't have to weaving in millions of ends! Just 1 at the beginning & 1 at the end. I just love that. I definitely recommend using this yarn for crochet & hand knitting. Full disclosure... My parents own this business. BUT I have to say of all the yarn I've tried for baby blankets, it's still the yarn I choose to purchase! And everyone who is has gotten one of my baby blankets comments on the quality and hand feel of the yarn over & over.
