This is the easiest 5-star review ever. One of our front tires started to wobble on the stretch into Bishop where we are staying. I called Paul at 8.20am this morning. He had my car on a jack by 9.30am, diagnosed a failed (warped) tire, replaced it, checked the air and I was on the road by 10.15am. Paul and the chap that did all the work (sorry, I forgot his name) were fantastic. If you ever have tire troubles anywhere near Bishop, go to Simpsons. read more

I normally go to a tire shop just right down the road from here. Simpsons was $250 cheaper for the same service and tires that I got for my Tacoma. Really appreciated the customer service here, Paul was great. They put an existing tire on my spare for no additional cost. Good customer service is hard to find in Owens Valley, but this place was on point. This will be my new tire shop from here on out. read more

I was over three hours from home when I got the low tire pressure warning light. Simpson Tire was close by in Bishop and I could get there before the tire was flat but, again, I wasn't close to home and didn't have a lot of time. Didn't need time! Simpson Tire patched my tire for a low cost and sent me on my way within the hour. In situations far from home you worry about a mechanic taking advantage but we never heard a word about upselling. He showed us the large screw that was the culprit and sent us on our way. Grateful! read more

Purchases a set of tires from Paul in 2021 and after having a rotation done 8k miles later, noticed a slight shimmy coming back from a trip down to SoCal. So brought it in to ask Paul to check the 2 front tires for possibly being out of balance after noticing a 'wiggle' on the steering wheel going 70mph. Went on vacation and as my parents were coming down the mountain into bishop, my parents boat trailer tire blew. I was tasked with calling around to see if anyone had the tire and could install it on a Saturday around noon. Luckily I called Simpson's. After stopping at several places in Bishop to have our tires rotated, we decided to go with Simpson. By far the friendliest guys we encountered. One of the other places we checked said $20 until they saw we have a Four Wheel pop up camper on the truck- suddenly the $20 shot up to $50. If i could give less than one star i would. I took in my daughters car to get the tires switched and and a week later i was washing the car and i noticed 2 lug nuts were missing from two different tires. I called them and asked them and they told me they remembered a car that had 2 lug nuts missing bur couldn't remember what car. Regardless if they lost them or not you tell someone if they are missing lug nuts it's a liability / safety issue. Never bringing any of my cars back here. read more

I've known Paul for a long time I've always gave him my business until today. In may I bought a set of tires for my truck and had them put on by pauls guy I paid 1000 for the tires and 150 for him to install. The tires are only 2 monts old and are now bulgeing on the side walls because of the damage he did installing them so I went do get tires from another shop down the street I watched closely when they were dismounting the tires and saw the damage done to the beads of all 4 tires. I showed paul personally and he took no responsibility And just shrugged his shoulders and said well my guys usually pretty good about that stuff. Not this time he wasnt! So now I had to pay another 1000 for another set of tires from another tire shop. And have 4 tires that are only 2 monts old that are not reusable. read more

B- in my book! I bought Pirelli scorpion tires for two hundred each, just to have them go flat on our way to Big Bear, CA. If you know that road you know what I mean. Afterwards I realized how blessed we were to make it through. I brought it back and Paul Simpson told me the tire is not compromised and put it back on. Great place to stop. I was driving through Bishop in my class A motor home. I stopped to get fuel and noticed I had a flat inside dual tire. They were able to get me in right away and had me back on the road in less than a hour. They treated me well, answered all my questions and were very friendly. I definitely recommend it. They are also a Michelin dealer. read more

We had a very poor experience due to a safety issue. We were driving a rental 4 WD to Mammoth last winter and got a flat right before Bishop. The owner (Father) said that they could replace it with a used tire that would be much cheaper but it was slightly smaller than the originals on the SUV. He told us that it wouldn't make a difference driving and that the rental company wouldn't notice. They started to change the tire. Meanwhile, I kept trying to reach the rental company to ensure the tire would be covered by insurance. When I could not get through on the phone, I just decided I didn't want to risk having a different size tire because the rental co. might not reimburse me. When I told the guy changing the tire that I wanted a new tire that was the right size, he said it was a good idea for the rear tire. Later as I talked to someone who works at a tire manufacturer, he told me that it is extremely dangerous to have the wrong size tire on a 4WD especially driving in the ice and snow. How irresponsible to risk that kind of liability by selling someone the wrong size tire. read more

Having lived in the area for many years, I found my tire buying experience to be exceptional. FINALLY. Geez. It's what doing business in a small town is supposed to be. Paul's friendly way of instantly connecting with me as his customer allowed him to comfortably "sell" to me a product that was in my price range and exactly what I needed. I told him "Please don't make me go out of town to buy tires!!" Where we live we try to keep money in our own economy but most often, it's way less expensive for everything going toward Reno or LA. He was aware that most of his customers research for the best prices We talked about the success of Tire Rack in an objective, positive way. In terms of service, instead of making me come back over and over and over like other similar businesses in the area because the product "isn't in, didn't make it up, don't know what happened, can you come back tomorrow?", I was ready to go for a 3 hour walk and he insisted it wouldn't take long and to sit and wait for installation in a comfortable, air conditioned room with a TV. Having not discussed my previous bad experiences trying to get work done on my vehicles up here, I'm sold and won't ever go anywhere else for my tire needs. Plus, he makes recommendations for any other auto needs you may have. And as someone who's not auto mechanically inclined, I trust him.
