We have been wanting to see this show for awhile and finally go the opportunity to see it. The show is currently performed at The Lexi Hotel on Wednesdays at 730pm. The venue is quaint and perfect for this show, and the staff is friendly and helpful. David De'Costa sings a great selection of songs and sounds like Frank Sinatra, and has a very good sense of humor and some great jokes. He also interacts with the audience very well. We had a very good experience listening and dancing to the all the wonderful songs! read more

The performer has an amazing voice. I appreciated the banter with the audience and that he took song requests. He stayed true to character and to the time period of Sinatra. I am of course aware of the Rat Pack, but a bit younger than the usual fan demographic, but even so I really enjoyed it. Drinks are complimentary, which never happens in Vegas anymore, so that alone was impressive. His entire family works on the show, and he even had his little boy briefly come show off his singing ability, which was fun. I am not giving 5 stars because the venue seems to be a few former hotel rooms turned into a very small theater. It was incredibly warm, and there are no restrooms located anywhere near the theater - you have to take an elevator back to the hotel lobby. If this show moves to another location, I would love to take my mother to see it. read more

I am indeed a huge fan of David De'Costa's Sinatra Up Close and Personal, an homage to Old Blue Eyes, himself, at The Majestik Theater inside the Royal Resort. From the classic songs to the storytelling and the all too familiar jokes of the era, David captures a seemingly more innocent and elegant time in our past. He will charm with his wit, dazzle with his eyes and take you away with his voice. It is evident that Sinatra is a labor of love for David... and a family affair, as David's son is a helpful presence at his show. David takes requests, and appreciates gratuities to be able to continue to offer snacks and refreshments free of charge at this venue (Unheard of at any show!) The theater itself has the feel of an off off off Broadway production. I felt transported to the inside of mid-century Las Vegas, with David's Sinatra as well as short tributes to Dean and Sammy. With tickets very reasonably priced, and parking free and plentiful, David's Sinatra Up Close and Personal is an evening well worth the price of admission, and more! Fly Me To The Moon? Wow! What a performance. David is the real deal. I can't imagine how anyone could sound more like Frank than David does. He's also a great showman with the banter and jokes and interaction with the audience. Thoroughly enjoyable evening. Loved Loved Loved it..... Pros: Free parking Free beer, soda, water and wine but don't forget to leave a generous tip!! Inclusive environment Casual and comfortable David Jr (son) and Vito (nephew) are hardworking and enjoyable Fantastic show!!!!! Cons: None!!!! Recommendations: Charge $1 for refreshments, that way with a $1 tip you will break even. Free drinks is greatly appreciated but the show tickets are so inexpensive ( $25 and 35) that we would have no problem paying $5 or more for a drink. Showroom is warm, purchase a fan that at least gets the air flow moving. Don't take a 20 minute intermission, leave it at 10 minutes. Keep the entry door activity during the show to a minimum. Too many friends or family coming and going throughout the show and it's distracting if you are sitting next to the door. Best show ever, we will spread the word and be back to see you soon!! My friend, Sandra, and I saw David De Costa's show Sinatra, Up Close and Personal tonight, 4/2/2019, at the Royal Resort. He is a gifted singer! His show was fantastic! He sang one song after another, made jokes with the audience, and kept everyone entertained with his great singing. He sang not only Sinatra songs but also Dean Martin's. He really got Sinatra down but he also sang with his own style and from his heart. Really enjoyed watching him perform all of my favorite Sinatra songs. He took requests from the audience, too! A funny anecdote he told us was that he forgot his socks that night, and he used...duct tape! He wrapped it around his foot and his ankle and it looked like he had silver socks on! Genius! lol! I definitely recommend for people to see his show! I plan to definitely come back and bring my husband, parents, and friends along. David, please keep on singing!... read more

My friend and I attended David DeCosta's Sinatra Up Close & Personal show tonight 1/29/19 and it was excellent! David himself told us about the show when my friends and I happened to gather at Hawthorn Grill at JW Marriott in Summerlin on 1/25/19, where David was performing as a duo with guitarist Darren. We really enjoyed their performance so we decided to check out David's Sinatra show. It's tough to do a one-man show of non-stop singing, but David DeCosta impressively delivered the goods and if you enjoy the old standards done the Sinatra way, you will love this show. He has a great voice and while he tried to sound like Sinatra and also did a couple of Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr tunes, he did not come off as if he was impersonating them but rather honoring these timeless singing stars and the songs we all love. I felt he balanced the expected style with his own twist on the songs. He also took requests from the audience. Most of all, David clearly loves what he is doing and his heart is in every song he sings. His son, David Jr, did the sound, served as usher and handled concessions. David DeCosta also made it a point to engage with the audience, interspersing singing with the telling of jokes (albeit somewhat corny ones!), which he delivered quite well judging from the many laughs coming from the audience. He also took time after the show to meet and thank every member of the audience and allowed them to take photos with him. The price of admission is VERY reasonable (our tickets were $22.50 each including fees via Goldstar) and drinks and snacks are included. To keep the price low, David uses tracks to back him up rather than having any live musicians. He diplomatically asked for donations at the end of the show, which I think most audience members were happy to provide. That said, I would love to hear David with a full orchestra! The Majestik Theater is on the 2nd floor of the Royal Resort, a quirky small hotel that has the Barrymore restaurant on the first level...good place to eat and have some drinks before the show (happy hour 5-7pm). Parking is free and plentiful. The theater space itself is rather small yet it had an intimate feel. It made me think of some off-Broadway type theater--old, lived in, and full of character or maybe a rehearsal space. The decor was somewhat "kitschy" which I rather liked and they have performances in there of magicians, burlesque, and other entertainment so that seems to fit. However, a good vacuuming might help! It also got a bit hot, so don't wear anything too heavy and bring something to fan yourself with. That, of course, has nothing to do with David and his show! Looking forward to catching more of David's performances! read more

Had to write a review of the wonderful evening we spent at this off strip performance. Fun comedy and amazing singing and believe it or not we had complimentary popcorn, wine, softdrinks and chips (tips welcomed of course we left big ones). It was a great intimate small room crowd but boy was the laughter loud. We enjoyed the family entertainment and the family entertaining us. If you love ole Blue Eyes or the Rat Pack~this is the show for you! I discovered this show via Groupon and purchased tickets for my spouse and I for Valentines Day. "Sinatra" (David) was excellent & stayed in character. He was funny, natural & interacted with the audience with personal flair. The setting is very intimate & feels like all things "old Vegas". David is incredibly talented and does Sinatra better than any I've seen. There are complementary drinks which is rare these days. I recommend to go VIP, as we did, where you get a small table up front where David will sing to you and share fun rapport. This show is a hidden gem in this city of great talents. We will be back as Sinatra never gets old. Hats off to you David, you are the best! read more

A really, really fun evening with a very, very affordable price. Not a fancy theater, but most adequate. The free drinks were a wonderful added touch. My only suggestion would be that the guest performer delete the suggestive jokes which were not only mildly offensive, but became very repetitive and boring; keep it a family-friendly show. It was so encouraging to see David's whole family involved in the production in one way or another and getting to go out for the evening at a price we could afford. read more

I went to this performance in the afternoon on Wed, 9/26. I didn't have big expectations, but WOW, What a GREAT performance! Dave De'Costa has a voice that is an uncanny match to Frank Sinatra himself; if you close your eyes and listen, you will swear the real Frank is singing -- so close it almost sounds like a recording, but it's clearly NOT. It's definitely Mr De'Costa belting out one famous Sinatra song after another! In this 90 minute musical revue, David De'Costa charms his audience with charisma, wit, and smooth vocals in the style of Frank Sinatra at a very reasonable admission price. Additionally guests are offered complimentary wine & beer. The "showroom" is The Majestik Theatre located on the 2nd floor of The Royal Resort. An intimate setting that offers limited sightlines, however De'Costa strolls the aisle to make sure he is "up close and personal" with the majority of audience members. If you love Sinatra, you will enjoy Mr. De'Costa's embodiment of and tribute to "The Chairman of the Board". The pre-recorded, rather than live, music is the major reason for my rating the show 4 rather than 5 stars. Of course, if there were musicians I doubt the booze would be free and ticket price so low. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much as I had already seen a show at that venue and it's not much of a venue. But, being a Sinatra fan, we went and were pleasantly surprised! David Decosta does a wonderful job performing as Sinatra. He also does requests (!) and provides free (!!) adult beverages. We enjoyed David Decosta immensely.We saw the Rat Pack is back with him doing Frank on two occasions and he was the best of the three. We were surprised to see him perform by himself but he was outstanding by himself. Last night at the Royal resort was David at his best.Incredible voice with all of Frank's mannerism and so personal and entertaining. The venue was surprisingly intimate although not impressive. My husband and I were a little hesitant about the location but as soon as the show started we forgot all about it. Great show, fun jokes, great talent and it did feel more personal than other shows in town. They offered complementary drink and ask for special requests that were all met.
