I have been going to see (and perform) in shows at the Singletary Center since the 80s. This is a good place to see a show. Recently they have redone the seating and, unlike many popular venues, the seats are comfortable and there is adequate leg space so your knees don't punch into the seat in front of you. The venue is kept clean, and refreshments are available for purchase at the ticketed performances. Singletary Center also offers many free recitals throughout the year.

Post Modern Jukebox about to preform

Had a very nice time at Singletary Center for the Arts this evening. We're here to see Post Modern Jukebox. Watching them preform live was a very fun experience. What a talented troop, each member played a variety of instruments. The seats were very roomy. I think the acoustics could be just a little better. But over all I enjoyed this venue.

I was associated with IMTA around the year 2007 when I was around sixteen or seventeen (and under a…read moredifferent name (my biological name))! I was very awkward at the time, but I actually really enjoyed acting, and I won't lie, I wasn't very attractive back then either (Alright, I was ugly AF until I was in my 20s). The IMTA staff were SUPER judgemental, EVERY (acting) audition I heard about was through another client of theirs (since we were working together in a community theatrical production together (I did NOT hear about the theatrical produciton through IMTA, I found the auditions via the theatre's website, auditioned, and got a role), and that particular client of IMTA was VERY beautiful in appearance)! IMTA NEVER emailed me about ANYTHING! And their "classes"? I spent hundreds of US dollars for "classes" that really didn't amount to anything! They took the money and even though I pursued them for audition emails, they only sent one or two and then they were silent for MANY months until I bugged them again! It was a vicious cycle! And the fact I feel they judged me based on my appearance f**ked my self-esteem BIG time! I mean, I've always been self-conscious about how I look due to me being bullied in elementary school (from kindergarten all the way up until late middle/early high school), but IMTA, a BUSINESS with GROWN ASS ADULTS, made it 10 times worse! I pretty much quit acting for YEARS because of them... I LOVE acting, don't get me wrong...but I still HATE doing live theatrical or on camera performances (I'm TRYING to gain more self-confidence by auditioning, but even then I'm still, very modest). That's the main reason why I became a voice actress, and honestly I LOVE voice acting better than live acting! But, the point of the matter is it was the fact that IMTA belittled a client of theirs due to their appearance rather than their talent! IF anyone wants to be in the talent industry, PLEASE do research! Agencies will NEVER ask you for money, and they will only take a profit from you IF you are cast! And, REAL Talent Agencies DO NOT offer classes! IF you see an agency saying that they offer classes, it's a SCAM! Legit classes are offered at theatres, but classes are NOT necessary. I did forget to mention that IMTA said that I'd have to take some of their classes in order to be a client. I SHOULD have walked away right then and there, but...I was sixteen-ish they LEGIT scammed an UNDERAGED girl! Honestly, the best way to get a job in the industry is to put yourself out there as best as you can!

My experience at Images can be described as nothing short of life changing. I'm a member of the…read moreScreen Actors Guild who has had a successful career appearing in national commercials, television, and movies. I'm currently a Casting Producer who has worked for NBC, FOX,Discovery, Hulu, and many more companies. None...I'll repeat...none of that would have been possible had I not walked through the doors of Images. When I first came to Images the bulk of my experience came from being in high school plays in Irvine Kentucky. I had no idea what the possibilities were and honestly probably didn't consider that a career in the entertainment industry was actually possible. Janie, and Images created a space that made it possible to learn, dream, and connect with a like minded community. I consider my acting coach there(and friend now), Joe Gatton one of the most influential people in my life. He really helped a kid from a small town allow himself to have bigger dreams. As a footnote I'd like to add some advice. Big dreams require hard work, investment, and sacrifice. Being successful as an artist requires just as much or more time, sweat, and money than any other career. There is no such thing as an over night success or a free ride. If you REALLY want to have a shot to make it you need to put in the work. Some times it will be exhausting. Keep going. There are many routes one can take on the highway to success, but I can say from experience that Images was essential to my journey.
