For years I've used this place to change the oil, filter and lube my 4 vehicles. I stopped using…read moreit after the prices for Mobile 1 Synthetic oil went out of sight. I recently paid right at $100 to get the oil changed and a lubrication on my 2003 Silverado, 5.3L gas engine that holds 6.5 quarts. I won't be doing that again. The dealership is even cheaper than this. On Thursday I had to go out of town and Flowers Honda could not get me an oil change appointment until Tuesday. All Honda oil changes are 100% synthetic Honda oil with a Honda oil filter and a new oil plug seal included with the filter. Pure quality. So I called American Lube on Remington Ave and asked how much a Mobil 1 change would be. They told me $54.95 plus tax. Honda get $40 and does a safety inspection check as well. I figured to go ahead and pay the extra $15. When I got to this lube shop it turns out I was misquoted. The oil change was $82 with tax. And there are no parts to lube on a Honda. Pure robbery. Twice the cost of Honda dealerships and much more than I was quoted. The lube guy about tore up my air cleaner trying to check the air filter. He finally got some help from a coworker before he messed it up. The $24.95 oil change is cheap oil. Can't be used in a Honda or most cars that require synthetic oil. I won't be going back. This place is pricing itself out of business. Next time I'll plan better and go to Honda for an oil change. The $40 savings will be worth it. Heck, the BEST Mobil 1 oil and a Mobil 1 filter can be bought RETAIL for $35 or less. It cost even more if you want Mobil 1 "High Mileage" or the "15,000 mile oil". All this place has is the basic Mobil 1. WalMart gets $45 for the same type oil change. $82 is just ridiculous!!!!

I bought a set of tires from them in early January for my mom's car and her car was barely driven…read morebecause of illness. About 2 weeks after purchase I noticed the passenger rear tire was going flat. I called and took it up there and left it. I picked it up later and they said it was OK and holding pressure but didn't say they found any problems. About 3 weeks later it was flat again. Mom was in hospice by then and I couldn't deal with it so I just pumped it up. About 3 weeks later it was flat again. I called then and they said bring it and it should take about an hour. I was told the tire was "unrepairable" and I needed a new one. After it was installed they tell me they pro-rated it and I owe them $80.00. I said absolutely not . That tire was 2 months old with less than 250 miles on it with a tiny amount of tread wear - and under those conditions according to the warranty on their website it's supposed to be 100% covered with free installation. They were supposed to measure the tread wear - which they didn't. I questioned this. The guy looked at me like I was crazy and started making excuses. What was wrong with the tire I asked? I was told it had a nail in it. I asked to see the tire. The manager said they couldn't find it. Give me a break. I kept complaining and they knocked it down to $40. I made it pretty clear I was highly displeased, they weren't honoring their warranty terms and this was a rip off - but that's as far as I could get. I had to pay the $40 to get my car. Never again will I buy anything from these people. That was the third set of tires I had bought from them over the years. Apparently they don't care about their reputation. Shameful. You don't really know the quality of a company until you have a problem. Now I know about Mavis Thomasville.
