However, I wanted prescription to see a specialist and she asked where I'm planning to go and when I mentioned doctor's name she was refusing to give me prescription because she doesn't like him personally(?????). She suggested other doctor but I chose a doctor I wanted to visit and she finally gave me prescription. I had to have a surgery the next day and if I would listen to her I would end up in the emergency room. So bottom line : I won't come back to this office, never ever in my life.

Dr Ashraf diagnosed a life threatening condition in 2 minutes in his office, sent me directly to the hospital and preformed surgery that evening. The front staff are the greatest, they were very reassuring and answered EVERY one of my questions no matter how silly or anxious i was to ask them. they walked us through what was happening every step of the way. I wish i could remember the names of the other medical aides in the office and give them their well deserved credit. After waiting a while I was finally able to see Dr. Sayad at his Gramercy office. He took a few looks at me and knew what it was. which later after a smooth and quick endoscopy we confirmed it was exactly that. I have united health care PPO and the copay for the visit & everything was reasonable and no charges over the top. He did exactly what was expected. FOR THIS I REMOVE ONE STAR: ,y only complaints would be that he loves to talk as somoene said before and he overspends time with clients, which in turn pushs appointments back. Also his front desk staff, a few young girls, who I seen be rude to other guests and actually gave me attitude on the phone. I think the thing they need to realize is that people come in here or call in as I had are sick and a bit upset and we appreciate staff who can help calm and assure us not make situations harder then need be. I called in the appointed Friday(could not get through on the line untill the following Monday) for my test results only to be told they don't know where they are.. I call a few more times as i am feeling horrible and awaiting a solution. I did finally get them soon after, however, I would have expected the staff to be sensitive and not give attitude. Other than that I loved the place Dr. Sayad has an amazing beside manner and does the procedures himself and as it was my first procedure ever I was scareeedddd and it help to see his friendly face there during this time. When I left the same woman carefully explained each referral they had given me. I found his office staff to be warm and welcoming. Dr Sayad took his time speaking with me about my medical history and explained the test he thought I should have and why. Overall my experience was very positive and I plan to use him as my Primary Care as well as GI specialist indefinitely. There are two things to be aware of though when seeing Dr Sayad. First because he treats you like you are the only person he needs to see that day he runs behind. Like way behind, my appointment was at 12:30 and he saw me at 1:45. He is worth the wait and it's easier to deal with if you know going into it. Second, I don't know who she is but if you call on a Tuesday you have a good chance of speaking with a shockingly rude receptionist. I've gotten her twice and she has told me that he didn't take Tri Care (which he does) and another time asked "why didn't you think of this while you were here?!". That being said, it you bring a good book and call Monday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday you are golden!

After the appt I kept thinking about how he said that. I was so sure that I was right that I got a second AND third opinion from other drs and they both confirmed that I was right. The problem is that completely changes how you read the numbers on the labs. If you can't even get that simple thing right how can I trust you to diagnose me? When i asked him what those numbers could mean he just went off on tangents about conditions that had nothing to do with me. It was a complete waste of time.
