Magnum Express - Comfy coaster ride to Dahilayan

Hooray- we didn't have to endure a 1.5 hr commute in a passenger jeepney + hiring a motor bike. The shuttle leaves exactly at 9 am with or without passengers! We had the whole coaster to ourselves and hopped back on at 4:30 pm for CDO. Our flight was 10 pm the same day so upon returning we booked for our seats to the airport at Php 199 each. Remember to allot 1.5 hrs to get to CDO Airport on top of your check-in time. Their waiting lounge is clean and equipped with CCTVs (rides too!). The fleet is also monitored by a GPS system. You can even leave your luggage behind their counter (comes with claim tags) and just pick them up before boarding the shuttle.

I rode the Magnum Express shuttle from the Cagayan de Oro airport to the City and then back for my…read morereturn flight. Here are my experiences and thoughts: LOCATION: At the airport, you collect your baggage and walk out the front doors and across the street. Magnum Express is right there with other shuttle services. Stick with Magnum Express. The cost of the shuttle was 199 pesos (about $4 at the time I was there). I paid the fee, got my receipt and they tagged my bag and put it on the shuttle. The shuttle is a van with each aisle having 2 seats on the drivers side and one seat on the passenger side. The last row is a bench that seats four people. The shuttle dropped me off at the Centrio Mall but has other drop off locations posted. When you want to return to the Airport, go to Magnum Express Terminal, which is located at the EAST entrance to the Limketkai Mall. No one seems to know where it is, so just tell the taxi you want the EAST entrance, and it is across from the entrance. If you want to find it while you are at the mall, go out the exit that has the Mercury Drug store on the left side. TERMINAL: The little terminal is very clean, well air-conditioned and has very strong WIFI. The shuttles DO NOT have wifi as some places advertise. You can also buy snacks and drinks here, but with the mall 2 yards away, you can pay a better price at the shops and drug stores there. RIDE: The ride to CDO was very long because of a collapsed bridge as you approach the city. It took us about 90 minutes to reach Opol, and another hour to get into the city because it was a Saturday night and there was crazy traffic. There is nothing to do but sit back and relax. You are in aircon and leather seats while most of the others in buses have neither convenience. The shuttle was about 80% full. I had a two-seat row to myself and was quite comfortable. The return from CDO to the airport on Sunday morning at 10 a.m. left on time and was full of people. The traffic snag from the bridge construction was still a problem, but did not take nearly as long to get through. We arrived at the airport in about 1 hour. All in all, this is the best way to get from the airport into CDO. It is clean, punctual, cheap and professional.

They were huge so cute at the same time there just swimming and eating lol Btw, i understand there are concerns about the pros and cons regarding this activity. I completely understand that and its just such a broad topic to even talk about so please do your own research if you are having second thoughts or just want to know more. This review is really just for the experience that I had. Anyway, we entered from BCD resort which was convenient as we get to park there and we also had a guide to help us navigate were to go first (register, "orientation" etc). You go out in the waters for more or less 30mins which is really enough. Activity starts around 7-11am so the fish can have some time on their own to hunt for food rather than get so used to being fed. I appreciate that the staff reminds guests to have all lotions and sunscreens rinsed off prior for the safety and health of these fishes. It seems to be a little more organized this time around compared to before. There is also same pricing now regardless if your local/foreigner and if you are swimming/staying on the boat. Life jackets are provided and the "bangkeros" give out the food/krill to the Butandings/Whale Sharks so all you get to do is enjoy swimming with them or viewing them from the safety of that small boat. Beautiful experience.

You can bring your own if you want to snorkel. You can also bring your own fins. Picture wise, you can bring a water proof case for your phone or a Go Pro. The street vendors were selling water proof cell phone bags there but not sure how good they would have been so opted to leave phone behind. The staff didn't do pre-arranged photos like at other excursions. So something to think about if you really want to get a pic Really fun experience. It was crowded on a Friday and the weekend. Probably less crowded on the weekday.

This resort was amazing and great for everyone!…read more I came here in February with the majority of my family. We were a group of 10, My Aunt, two cousins, my cousin's girl friend, My mom, my sister, my brother, my brother's fiancé, and my daughter and I. Despite our age gaps, we all enjoyed our time here! The ENTIRE staff was very welcoming and friendly! Our rooms were GORGEOUS... especially our bathroom which was partly outdoors. We had a beautiful tub and a rainforest shower head next to it. I LOOOOVE that they had a pool right in front of our room (and the bar) and that it was open late! After our adventure throughout Bohol, we had 4 hours until dinner (which was also at the resort). There were chairs between the pool and the bar so we left our stuff there while we played in the (huge) pool and went back to get snacks and drinks. For people who don't drink alcohol, their watermelon and mango shakes were AMAZING. Definitely a must have to sip on while sitting pool side. The snacks are also pretty good as well! We finally got to try qwek-qwek and we LOVED IT! What I loved about the pool was the middle section. There's a bridge that leads from one side of the resort to the other and in the middle of the bridge it leads down to the middle of the pool where they have chairs to it on (the water for this section goes above the ankle. My mom and aunt got to sit there and gossip while the rest of us were playing around in the pool with my daughter. We had Dinner and breakfast there and both were amazing. We didn't have enough time to get massages or check out the beach part of the resort. 10/10 would recommend staying here! I am definitely coming back next time I'm in Bohol!

We had a team building event here in addition to staying here. The whole resort is very well maintained especially the landscaping. I was impressed because there was large area of green area! Drawback is that there is no soft Sandy beach, they have this beach area where you can get on the kayak waterboard but because of the sand and the tide you can't use it for sun tanning but they have lots of chairs and pools for you. We spent our time in the pools and had a great day. The room is VERY NICE. Love the floating beds, first time ever seeing it. There is natural light coming into bathroom and rock floor shower and jacuzzi bath tube. I always go for a bubble bath when they have this in the hotel rooms. Also great desk for office work. As for the team building they served us a lot of meals and food, had a great room to facilitate our team building exercises. Thank you! Everyone really enjoyed it! Will be going back next time I'm in Bohol!

How to Get There: We took a Ceres bus with Bayawan signage and asked the conductor to drop us off the corner to El Dorado. Fare was ₱19.00 and trip took about 20 minutes. Don't worry about missing the dropoff as it is pretty common and the conductor will tell you when you're there. Getting Inside Entrance fee is ₱200/person but is consumble. This gives you access to the beach as well as the restaurant. Keep your ticket as the restaurant staff will ask for it before taking your order. What to Do Inside Take pictures, lots of it. Head straight to their mini Boracay and start snapping like crazy. You'll see Apo Island from a far so pose and be ready to capture the moment. You can swim either on the pool or at the beach. It wasn't a great time to swim when we visited because of the strong ocea waves. The pool is smallish but is hot enough so you can dive into it without regretting your decision the moment you're in the water. Eat Eat Eat El Dorado Beach Resort has a full-kitchen so you'll have no problem with food. We ordered the pork chop and the one with cheese, gravy, and mushroom (forgot the name) and they were two of the best tasting dish we've tried (no kidding!). We also were offered complimentary salad and that too was awesome! When visiting, it's best to check in so you get to enjoy añl the amenities. You can walkin like we did but then you won't have access to their amazing looking accomodations. Two thumbs up! Must visit!
