We had a lovely evening with a glass of wine and some apps at the Siren Kitchen and Bar. So summery and fun to be taken across the canal in a boat to get to the lovely bar/restaurant. The server was lovely, and the food was absolutely delicious! We had flash fried Brussel sprouts. WOW they were so good. And the Korean chicken Bar buns had so much flavor. It was a memorable evening.

First time here with a friend who has been before. Neat experience to at least try once. In Essex you can park on the street down at the water and then you take a boat across the river to the restaurant. The boat ride takes 2 minutes and seats six people at a time. It was a Friday between 12:30 and 1:00 p.m. and we were seated right away. Nice outdoor seating on the water. I ordered the fried calamari which was fried perfectly because I do like it more on the crispy side and I ordered the crispy brussel sprouts which were really good as well. I had enough of each to take home and eat later on in the day. My friend ordered the chopped chicken Asian salad and she really enjoyed it. We each had a mango mojito and it was okay. I would not order it again. It was not too sweet, which I did like but it did taste more like Seltzer than anything else, and too much fresh mint. The mint kept clogging up the straw. With tip I spent about $80 We were in and out within an hour and a half. Then a quick boat ride back to the other side where we walk to the car and went on to our next destination.

This place is so cute! The patio was so nice with views of the marina, bar is small but also capitalizes on the views. The little boat ride (like 30 feet) to the "island" makes it summery and fun. We came on a Saturday as a party of 5 and the hostess took our name saying "there's 5 people ahead of you, are you sure you want to wait? I have no idea how long it will be." We said sure and got a drink at the bar.. but seemed super odd to it be able to give an estimate. while at the bar the bartender offered us to dine there so we said sure thinking a table would take an hour. About 20 minutes of being at the bar the hostess says our table is ready .. so we asked to transfer our meal to the table. The hostess and bartender got a little annoyed with this but we really didn't want to eat at the bar. With 5 people it's hard to talk to everyone. Anyway we sat down and since the bartender stayed on as our waitress we barely saw her. Never got waters and only got a drink refresh when they dropped off the dinner. Both bartender and hostess seemed overworked and annoyed all night. Food was just okay.. I had the cauliflower bowl and it was good but a crazy amount of green onion was on top.. almost more than there was cauliflower or edamame. Others had the crab cake sandwich and said it was ok, over sauced and roll was dry. This place has potential to be amazing but needs to work out their staff morale and fine tune the dishes.

Martini and The Blue Mermaid were tasty!

We loved this place! Wonderful town and the boat ride over was unexpected and super fun. Perfectly set in the marina, surrounded by boats , we walked in to a great playlist - Bob Seger, Etta James, Van Morrison and Chris Stapleton. Perfect vibe. A cool breeze, and cocktails! Clam chowder was delicious and the hot lobster roll /delicious bun was heavenly. The fish tacos were fresh and wonderfully charred. Waitress was great. A walk around the dock was perfect after dinner.

The ambiance is what caught our attention. Adorable, kitschy little patio, outdoor bar and chill tunes playing, with a great view of the marina. We were welcomed by a friendly server, who was also the owner. She masked amazing cocktails! The best Bloody Marys I've had, and I'm a Bloody connoisseur. We had to come back one more time during our stay to eat, and we were not disappointed. Highly recommend this place!

We've enjoyed coming to siren kitchen and bar several times! It's a great option for seafood and to sit outside for food in Essex! The drinks are always solid and the food is delicious! I got the shrimp roll which was tasty! Definitely recommend giving it a try if you're in Essex.

One would expect a friendly and professional manager for this unique restaurant at this lovely town and Marina. Too bad is not the case.

We chose the latter in a corner window right by the falls. The service was outstanding. From the moment we arrived, to helping us find our seat, to our server helping us with the menu, to the manager coming over and talking with us to make sure everything was ok. I liked how the server first checked to see if we had any time restraints along with food allergies, etc. Speaking of the food. We started with the clam chowder and scallops. The chowder was the best I've ever had. Plenty of meat and seasoned perfectly. The scallops were amazing. The manager later told us that the scallops were the only thing that had been on the menu since day one. They tried to rotate them off once and the people went nuts. We moved on to the duck and salmon. Both were delicious. Sides were perfect as well. I'd love to write about dessert, but unfortunately, we were stuffed. They looked good, but that will have to wait until next time.

This time, the waiters are very poorly trained not that I need perfect service For instance just when you are almost done with your soup do they come with pepper which I would have wanted from the start. They went to remove my drink when I had 3/4 inch left. My wife's risotto was really dry and overall tasteless. My burger as I was afraid to order seafood as they really messed that up in the past was soggy and really foul tasting. Not sure how you can ever mess up a burger. The location overlooking the river is nice, so many more better places around.

I've been several times since they opened and almost always get the salmon. What I love is that it's not always the same dish, it changes but always heavenly. The last time it had pumpernickel breadcrumbs yum! I had the faux foi gras(yay no tortured ducks) and it was not only beautiful but delicious. Then I recently tried the tofu appetizer which was equally delightful.. hope it stays on the menu a while, I love tofu done well. I've also had glazed carrots with hummus, trout, and brussel sprouts.. all top notch. Great wine selection and well made mixed drinks. Definitely my new favorite spot. You'll need a reservation for a table most days and get there early for bar seating.

The staff was knowledgeable and friendly, and prompt without being over-present. The menu was rife with tasty options - we went with a salad special that incorporated grapefruit and a peanut Thai dressing, a Tavern burger, a mushroom bolognese, and the house special Kentucky butter cake - each was phenomenal. Our drinks were also prepared well. The surrealist artwork all around was a subtle touch in what at first appeared to simply be a neat and tidy dining spot, just with a little more imagination than it first appeared to have. A really outstanding spot - over an hour from my home, but we'll certainly be back. Highly recommended.
