    Flourless chocolate cake

The Copper Beech Inn / Oak Room holds a special place in my family's hearts, as it is where my parents got engaged back in 1988! They come back for dinner every year, and sometimes, I am lucky enough to tag along. The service here is always second to none, and I am consistently impressed with their creative menu. Being a vegetarian is easy here, and the servers are happy to offer advice when it comes to choosing your dish. This time, I went with two appetizers for dinner - the beet salad and jicama 'ravioli'. The ravioli was one of the most unique things I have tasted in a long time! Kudos to the chef. We will be returning for years and years to come. Thanks for yet another great experience!

The Copper Beech Inn is a fun getaway from NYC if you have a car. I reserved a room and got the "Winter Wonderland Package." For $250 and some change, it's a pretty kick ass deal. You get a $100 voucher for dinner, $100 voucher for breakfast, and of course a night in one of their beautiful and unique rooms. Don't expect ultimate luxury- the room was a little awkward and barren and our heating unit made a lot of noise. The food was pretty good, can't complain because price wasn't really a factor due to the $100 voucher. To start, the lobster vol a vent is decadent and delicious. The smoked salmon was ok- but felt like the dish was composed of a bunch of random elements that didn't quite go together. For our main, we had the ribeye for two. Pretty good, but we asked for medium and really got a medium rare/rare. The mashed potatoes were buttery and flavorful and the truffles mushrooms were a great accompaniment to the steak. We finished our meal with a delicious square of chocolate mousse cake. We also ordered a bunch of drinks. The sangria and Irish coffee were delicious. They also have an extensive list of wines. Breakfast was a bit of a wash because we arrived at 10:30am, and breakfast ends at 10. The woman at the front desk was kind enough to offer us some coffee, bagels, and pastries. It would be nice if they clearly posted on the voucher when breakfast ends or told you at the time of check in.

I have been to this restaurant several times. We always eat at the bar. So please keep that in mind. We have never eaten in the dining room. The food is amazing. They have the best charcuterie plate ever. I love the fact that most of their meats and cheeses are local. Their entrees are large portions and very good. There are always good specials as well. The staff is so nice and your glass will never be empty. Top your night off with a chocolate martini for dessert and you won't be disappointed.

Menu changed as with the Cook. I won't say Chef as he doesn't deserve that title. Staff was unfriendly as well

She was so good about explaining some of the questions we had. And her recommendations were spot on . We tried the mushroom Swiss burger on a ciabatta roll so fresh . Juicy. And my cousin had a braised short ribs with a red wine reduction and mashed potatoes and asparagus. Amazing how tender . Then she suggested the beignet with butter pecan ice cream delicious very light and airy . Beautiful inside . It started getting busy when we were leaving. Our waitress said the menu will change to a spring summer and they will have outdoor seating as well . Can't wait to go back again and try other menu items ..Handicraft ramp lover level seating as well.. Highly recommend!!! Enjoy Chris

The fries were soggy and under cooked and the scallops were cool and nearly raw inside. After eating 2 of them we had to send them back to be re-cooked. They came back with the outside hard and crusty but the inside was still nearly raw. Sent them back again and told them to forget it. The raw scallops didn't sit well and had to make a run to the bathroom. They did take off the charge for the scallops but I'll never eat here again.

We chose the latter in a corner window right by the falls. The service was outstanding. From the moment we arrived, to helping us find our seat, to our server helping us with the menu, to the manager coming over and talking with us to make sure everything was ok. I liked how the server first checked to see if we had any time restraints along with food allergies, etc. Speaking of the food. We started with the clam chowder and scallops. The chowder was the best I've ever had. Plenty of meat and seasoned perfectly. The scallops were amazing. The manager later told us that the scallops were the only thing that had been on the menu since day one. They tried to rotate them off once and the people went nuts. We moved on to the duck and salmon. Both were delicious. Sides were perfect as well. I'd love to write about dessert, but unfortunately, we were stuffed. They looked good, but that will have to wait until next time.

This time, the waiters are very poorly trained not that I need perfect service For instance just when you are almost done with your soup do they come with pepper which I would have wanted from the start. They went to remove my drink when I had 3/4 inch left. My wife's risotto was really dry and overall tasteless. My burger as I was afraid to order seafood as they really messed that up in the past was soggy and really foul tasting. Not sure how you can ever mess up a burger. The location overlooking the river is nice, so many more better places around.

They have a good amount of outdoor seating to the right of the entrance. Inside is a small bar with about eight seats (didn't count) and several high tops. There is also a loft with more seating overhead. We walked up a few steps to enter the building from the parking lot. I'm not sure if the side entrance also has steps so if you have mobility needs, call ahead to check. We sat at the bar and as it was a hot day, I asked for a water before ordering a drink. The water was refilled several times during our visit without my needing to ask. I really appreciate that! The bartender seems to be the owner from the way he was talking and let us know they have live music two night a week plus some nights they offer a special menu like Prime rib night or dogs eat free night. Yes, besides the kids menu, they have a menu for your pup. The interior is very much a barn, with lots of fun, metal signs and train memorabilia all around. Two TV's were on in the front corners of the room so you may be able to watch your game (golf the day we went) but it's not really set up as a sports bar. There is one fair sized restroom for everyone that is clean and locks with a hook and eye latch. They have a good size drinks menu which includes a variety of cocktails, a selection of draft and bottled beers and wine. The bar has quite a collection of whiskeys and tequila's. A separate menu is available for their pub fare foods. The menu is very well crafted. Lots of chicken options, sandwiches and wraps, burgers, hotdogs and salads. My SO got the spicy chicken sandwich. When asked, our bartender let him know it was spicy, but not too spicy and they have hot sauce behind the bar if he wants more heat. Which of course he did. He enjoyed the sandwich; crispy chicken, tasty sauce, fresh veg and bread. Messy to hold, after using several napkins he finished it off w/his knife and fork. Table ware set on the bar after ordering is in small paper sacks. I went for a burger. The patty is quite large, cooked to order and juicy. Fresh veg on there, soft bread and tasty. I enjoyed this burger and it was large enough I almost couldn't finish it. I opted for a side salad (for an up charge) instead of fries. The salad is a good sized side, the veg were fresh and the dressing is on the side. I did try the fries that came with the chicken sandwich and those are really good fries. Fresh potato, crispy outside, fluffy inside, salted. Really good. This was an excellent stop. Chatted with some friendly locals and the barkeep. Had a beverage. Grabbed a tasty sandwich. We left stuffed and happy. What more could you ask.
