Jillian at Sirod's Hair Gallery in Waldorf did an absolutely beautiful job on my daughter's prom makeup. We were going for a glamorous Old Hollywood/Gatsby-inspired look to match her burgundy sequin dress and vintage waves, and she brought everything together perfectly. The makeup photographed flawlessly and still looked elegant in person. Her eyes were stunning and defined without looking overdone, the skin finish was smooth and glowing, and the lip color complemented the entire look beautifully. Jillian really understood how to create a full glam look while still letting my daughter look like herself. What I appreciated most was how professional, patient, and detail-oriented she was throughout the appointment. She listened to what my daughter wanted and executed it perfectly. Since moving to Waldorf, three years ago, I've been coming to Rochelle. Her finger waves soft or hard are the BEST in PG and Charles County combined. Your appointment is your appointment. Rochelle has always respected my time. She gets you in and out. The longest my appointment has ever been is approximately, 1 hour 30 minutes. Her products, are the best in the business. You can feel the shampoo and conditioner tingling through your scalp. That's therapy for me and her hands should be insured for sure. It's the massage for me. When you leave, your hair is either bouncing and behaving or and sheened and just the way you like it. Either way it's a win-win. Prices are extremely reasonable. The atmosphere and vibe is extremely laid back workers are extremely friendly and helpful, music is always what you need at any given time, soft jazz, R&B and gospel and at the right volume not too loud. No foolishness here. All business. I love that she still follows the COVID policy, keeping her staff as well as the customers safe. I love it. read more

UNPROFESSIONAL OWNER!!! Dont do it sorors! I drove an hour with this high gas to just get a wig sewn on. I get to the location 10 minutes before my appointment. The crew tells me she is not there, and she has gone to the store. I was told to go in. I sat at the shampoo bowl for 30 minutes waiting on the owner. Then the owner finally texted me that she is pulling up. She gets here and another 30 minutes later I get my hair washed. After that she is very heavy handed and pulling my hair. She finally puts me in the chair. She begins to drill me because another younger stylist was showing me her instagram with microlinks.She finally begin placing my wig on. I was trying to figure out the part in the hair. She leaves me to do that myself. She walks to another customer and washes her hair and get her ready to put her under the dryer. I am still sitting in the chair( a whole hour and 30 minutes later). I was waiting to get my wig sewn down. Then she says you might not want to have this sewn down, I'm gonna use some hair pens. Then she argues with me about using glue after I specifically told her when making my appointment that i do not want any glue in my hair. I had to basically argue with her about glue in my own hair. When I tell you I am highly angry and disappointed. This salon owner is a hotmess.com. She got upset because another stylist in her shop showed me her instagram. She was quizzing me about talking to another stylist in her salon. The unprofessionalism from the owner was unreal. I would never recommend her, not even for a dog. I did not get the services i requested and after 2 hours of being in the salon. I walked out. 75.00 (which she was trying to charge 150) for a wash, braid down, and hair pens (which I had to take down immediately because I got a headache from the hair pens). I GOT A FULL refund. I am not going to post the awful text she sent me. Just because she plays spirituals in the salon does not mean she is Godly. DO NOT WASTE YOUR GAS OR MONEY! Sorors and D9 sisters beware. The sole reason this review is written, after two weeks, I still cannot shake off my experience, and I want to share my experience so future customers can be aware and prepare. The professional Stylist at Shirod's Hair Gallery in Waldorf, Maryland accepted a photo hairstyle request along with product purchased by the client. Fee quote: ~$20 - $40. for ~1.5 hour style. 2.5 hrs after my appointment, the hairstyle was wrong. She blamed head shape (excuses & insults) as the reason why SHE decided to make alterations without consulting the client first. It was NOT what I asked for. The Shop owner Rochelle immediately stepped in to correct the hairstyle. I moved from Tamiko's chair to Rochelle's chair, plus ran back to Beauty Supply store to purchase additional products since there was just enough for the requested style. It required a takedown, shampoo, blow-dry to correct the 5 Strands Twist, perfect! Just what I asked for! Head, not an issue. Then the sticker shock: $85 for hairstyle do-over. Twice the cost of the original quote; plus repurchase of additional product. 3.5 hours extra time inconvenience ... the appointment a whopping $95.00. Issue: Penalized for not accepting wrong hairstyle. Rochelle, owner waited after the do-over to announce the new cost. She refused to take into consideration that my time quadrupled, I missed a schedule event due to the extra time and extra gas used to run back to the beauty supply to purchase additional product. I was livid! What else could I do, my hair was a mess. what should have been $45.00 ~1.5 hour hairstyle appointment resulted in a 5.0 hour salon ordeal 10:00 a.m to 3:00 p.m., costing me two hairstyle. I left feeling immensely violated by greed, and taken advantage of by the Shirod's staff. Shirod's Gallery does not respect customer's time, or take responsibility to negotiate fair price for their mistakes. After being tremendously inconvenienced I deserved better. Instead, I was overcharged a ridiculous fee (that probably included the fee for the stylist incorrect work). I was ganged up on and taken advantage in a situation I did not cause. [Update! Found another Salon and requested exact same hairstyle, paid $50 with product and tip included, out the door 1:45 minutes flat!] Regrettably, I will NEVER-EVER be a repeat customer at Shirod's Hair Gallery, Waldorf, MD. read more
