Aside from the popular OTC products for hair, face, and body, they carry premium makeup brands and replenish often. Cult faves like Fenty, NARS, MAC, Charlotte Tillbury, Anastasia, Smashbox, Morphe, etc are under one roof. Plus the Korean masks that turn your skin to glass is there. I can easily spend an hour browsing. Additionally, there's a full service salon in the back of the store. The stylists do hair, waxing, and make up back there. I have one issue that prevents me from spending more... The lack of employees at the front ringing people up. The line will extend down the wall to the back of the store. There are polite employees buzzing around settung up displays and discussing lunch plans, but 1 stressed out lady at the front ringing impatient shoppers. I have observed this countless times. What's worse, this location seems to stay shortstaffed during predictable peak shopping times. When there are holidays and people are off from work, they will shop. We are now entering the holiday season. I really hope this issue gets addressed. Many businesses are struggling, why let patrons walk out the door bcuz they can't wait in line 30+ minutes? read more

Ugh I'm always hoping for a better experience each time I come here. It's getting as bad as old school beauty supply places where you get followed around. I'm a woman in her forties and I can't hold onto my own $39 travel perfume while shopping. She took it from me like I was going to steal it. How can I steal it when my purse wasn't even big enough to hold my phone. On top of that they didn't know whether they had Yves Saint Laurent perfume or not! She said no. And then bam in the next aisle I find it. She giggles and says oh that's YSL.....huh!? I need to come on a day they have the older more seasoned employees working the floor. I love this Ulta! Not going to lie, this location might have the BEST staff! So welcoming, so attentive, so entertaining. My home girl and I came here and I only had 2-items in mind - I believe for a body scrub and a new lippie, and walked out not only with a basket but nearly $200 spent. All I had to do was tell the staff that I was traveling to Cancun in 2-weeks and that was all that needed to be said lol. The staff did their big one with me, giving me allll of the best beach buys! I am a freelance (travel) makeup artist based in Waldorf. I absolutely love love love makeup so Ulta is a go to spot for me. Unfortunately this Ulta location is by far one of the worst ones I've gone to. The staff never seem to know what they are talking about. Which can be very frustrating for customers who come in looking for items, suggestions and to redeem rewards . I suggest if you must patronize this location download the Ulta app and browse the products before going. Get an idea of what you need or would like to try. The fun thing about Ulta is you can test the products on yourself, right in the store! They supply all sorts of applicators to test items with. I also suggest becoming a rewards member so you receive the sales mags and know when hot new items are coming in. Management should really go over how Ulta rewards works and how customers can use them properly. I've also had issue with that. The sales cashier would not know and just assume it's ok to proceed on with closing out my purchase. This is unfair to customers who earn points and rewards and end up paying more than they should. I have only stumbled across one sales associate at this location who kinda knew her product knowledge. She also knew how to properly explain to me the best way to use my rewards. I wish they trained their employees to have a top 10 must have items based on specific customer needs; such as complexion, skin type, desired appearance, etc. A customer should be able to actually leave with items they are satisfied with after getting home and using them. I know too many women in this area that say they purchase incorrect color items based on sales associates suggestions on color matching and what not. On several occasions I've assisted other customers with their item selections because I've either been approached about my own makeup application/appearance or I've chimed in when I've seen a customer in need of assistance. Ulta really is a cool store, the lay out can be overwhelming, especially on the weekends when it's more crowded and people don't actually know what they need. With better training I think the customer experience could be greatly improved at this location. read more

First of all, the store is clean. It's a massive store full of beauty supplies and fragrances. All the staff that assisted me were absolutely amazing. Although I felt out of place, just getting off work, still in uniform. The staff made me feel welcomed. Unlike most stores, I have to search for someone to help me, not at Ulta. I wish I could remember all the names of the people who help me because they all were fantastic. I do remember Nikki, who went above and beyond and Sam. They were the greatest dynamic duo. Much like Sephora, they have a nice selection of men's and women's fragrances so I can do my Sniff-A-Thons in peace without the spector of overly zealous commission-breath sales associates breathing down my neck as is the case in the department stores. Many of the latest fragrances are here to smell. The ladies here leave you completely alone....lol....as in completely. I had to go look for help when it was time to ask a question and then again to buy something, but that's okay.... I'll take this extreme versus the other. They even have a small container of coffee beans to reset your sniffer prior to smelling something else. Very thoughtful. Lots of foot traffic in the store on Saturday morning. Long line to checkout. I had to pick up a business card order from Staples next door that wasn't ready - again - for the 3rd or 4th time - so I had some time to kill. That'll be another review though....ugh. Perched between a "European Wax Center" and that Staples in a strip mall with LA Fitness and quite a few other stores, this is a good location with ample and convenient parking. I'm really disappointed with my experience at Ulta. I booked an eyebrow appointment online, and when I called to let them know I was running five minutes late, the young lady who answered the phone had terrible customer service, she was rude and non-responsive. When I arrived, I informed the staff I was there for my appointment, only to be told that the person who does eyebrows didn't even come in today. Why was I able to book the appointment in the first place if they weren't there? And why didn't the person on the phone tell me this when I called? This is completely unacceptable. I understand things happen, but communication is key, and this situation was poorly handled from start to finish. I frequent this store very often. The associates are always friendly and helpful, and the store has every beauty item you could ever need!! A few weeks ago an associates (sorry I'll have to update with her name) was very helpful with my questions about applying lashes, and she gave helpful tips that I have tried which actually work! My cousin who was visiting from out of town that weekend was highly impressed with the kindness of the associates as well. Someone helped her color match liquid Bare Minerals foundation which she now loves, and find the right hue of lip gloss of what she had been searching for. We got to the check out counter and the cashier was all smiles. She gave us a friendly greeting and signed my cousin up Ulta rewards. Awful customer service. Rarely do I leave bad reviews but I could not let this go. Been in the area for about 6 months now .I've been to this location several times and each time it's been extremely disappointing. Today was the worst. Walked in NO ONE greeted me. A sales associate looked me dead in the face and said nothing. My trip today was to smell and hopefully find some new fragrance. I went over to the fragrance section where again NO ONE greeted me. There were several sales associates on the floor. I was in the store for a good while. At least 20 minutes. In fact instead of greeting me or asking if I needed assistance I realized i was being watched. Every move I made I look up and am associate was looking at me So very disappointed. I asked again and she explained in a rude and dismissive tone another employee would help me with that. After ten minutes of waiting, a very nice employee came to help me who i had seen earlier was busy with the register and a long line. I do not understand why Kelly made me wait 10 minutes for a shade match instead of doing it herself. Very unprofessional to not help me out when all employees except her appeared very busy. This is definitely my first time ever leaving a review on a beauty store. But today is a must. I visited the store looking for a few things that I knew I had in mind. When I came in, I was quietly greeted, but they were busy out front. I didn't care when I walked in. I saw this beautiful display of perfume by Carolina Herrera (Good Girl) and the rest of her fragrances. I always wanted to smell them and was on the fence about buying them. So I started venturing out, knowing exactly where I needed to be. I was surprised to find out that MAC is now in the store. I was so surprised and excited altogether, because I did not have to go in Macy's and/or another department store just to get to MAC. Thank you for this! So I needed help with certain products which was NARS concealer because mine was about three years old. Time to trash. I haven't used it since Covid. Also, what was my color of MAC Studio Fix is C6. I didn't know they had the original C6 at the store. I went to the front and instantly the cashier buzzed for someone to help. I had the most delightful full of energy woman. She knew her stuff. She was like "I Gotchu" and she did she show me new products because I was looking for the L'Oreal liquid tip eyeliner. All I saw was the pins and I was so bummed. She sold me on another eyeliner brand that's even better. I was down for it and was like why not something new let's change the eyeliner. It was NYX Matt vivid matte. I was like 'wow'. I was searching for the NARS concealer that was really creamy and in a jar that I needed so she recommended something that was in between not as heavy but still kind of light and I can still carve it under my brow if I want to. Again, her energy is what sold me and she showed me on her hand. Best service ever! I've been coming to this Ulta for a minute. I needed cleaning wipes. I received help from another associate who introduced me to something new in a cleansing wipe. He introduced me into a new product that he told me they use personally themselves. It was Clinique makeup remover wipes. Now I used Clinique products in the past, especially their cleansing and all. But I wanted some wipes to instantly remove my makeup, especially my mascara. To my surprise, I only used two makeup wipes to remove a full face plus several layers of mascara. Thank you so much for introducing me to this new product. So whatever changes you guys have done it's beautiful. It's light and a touch of elegance. I see new, different and exciting things. Oh, did I forget Rihanna?Rihanna are you kidding me? I have had some traumatic hair experiences in Waldorf since I moved here. 3 to be exact, trying to find a stylist that at least wouldn't butcher my hair...I was so scared I was waiting 6 months at least just to get a trim when I went to Chicago to visit fam. I was desperate for a cut since I had an event coming up (I couldn't find any openings). I happen to go to ulta for hair products and saw the salon. Booked a next day appointment with Sam. I was skeptical, I told her all my horror stories and I'll be honest I wasn't sure about my decision. Thankfully, Sam was amazing and even passed the wifey test. My wife is a "hair critic" if one hair is wrong it's the end of the world. Wifey loved my cut and after 6 stylists and two states, I finally found someone that not only didn't mess up my hair but made it better!! 100% recommend Sam!! read more

I've even come back on days when they get shipments and the following day but always "sold out". Started coming in here more often like I wanted to and I don't regret it! I've been playing more with makeup and came in here for some cleanser for my brushes, an eyebrow pencil, and another eye shadow palette. They sell Juvia's Place Nubian eye shadow palettes which are so pretty! Their NYX section is pretty well stocked. I also was helped a lot by one of the employees because I was unsure on the best method of cleansing my tools. I did not get her name but she was very helpful. I will be returning for sure read more

Beware! Face was burned from wax and lost eyelashes with the lash extensions! I had two services completed on 4/19 by Cecelia. Cecelia waxed my chin and cheeks plus did my eyelashes. She was pleasant and professional however, after completing my chin and cheek wax was complete my right cheek was irritated. Sadly, I soon discovered my cheek was burned by the wax! I was leaving town in the morning for vacation. The burns were very noticeable and my face was sore. Unfortunately, during the trip I was unable to cover up the burn marks on my face with makeup. Also, the lashes were applied with excessive glue thereby, causing my eyes to be irritated and red throughout the trip too. I finally had the lashes removed with I-Envy eyelash remover and several of my eyelashes came out too! Furthermore, after I arrived back from my trip on 4/22. I went to Ulta and spoke with the manager Alex about the wax burning my face. Alex stated she did not even know how to refund me money for the services rendered since the burns were so bad. She promised to share my concerns with upper management and have someone follow-up on 4/23. I have not received any calls from Ulta. I'm very disappointed with the way this issue was handled. The lack of concern and complete disregard for me as a customer is unacceptable. I spent $160 in total on that visit to the store and tipped Cecelia. However, not even one employee could follow-up regarding a valid concern. I truly believe that more training is required as no customer should be burned this bad from getting their face waxed. Got my hair cut at Ulta by Wanda. She was amazing and really took care of my hair. She was amazing 10/10 would recommend her.

I cry and whine every time we're in Waldorf until my husband takes me here. I've waited so long to have an Ulta close by. Yay! I'm so excited that you're here, Ulta! My favorite thing about Ulta is the mix of upscale items and drugstore items, all in one place. Also, men can find something to look at and enjoy while women shop. My husband usually goes and tests a few blowdryers (they're plugged in, so you can actually sample them, which he finds amusing...boys and their toys) while I look at makeup, skincare, bath products, and the Land of Clearance. There is also a service area in the back. I've never tried it, but it looks like they do some very simple services (no manis/pedis, etc., but they do nail polishing). If you've ever shopped at Ulta online, you already know this, but if not...there is a points reward system that is very lucrative. After a certain number of points (very easy to accumulate), you begin to get $$ off of your purchases. You don't have to remember, the staff will generally remind you and ask if you'd like to use your $$ off coupon. In addition, there are almost always coupons in their flyers (which you can also access on your smart phone, in case you can't find one) for additional savings, which are stackable. These savings make Ulta less expensive than Sephora (not that I don't love Sephora, mind you!). Couple that with the fact that you can find high-end brands and mid-range brands (and drugstore brands) all in one location, and I shop at Ulta more frequently than I do at Sephora now. Plus, I don't have to go into a mall to get to Ulta. BIG bonus! read more

I am not all that versed in shopping for personal care products, but the staff was very helpful and kind. My wife shops here frequently and has positive things to say. Prices seem to be low compared to what you pay elsewhere. The staff even helped me find my favorite hair gel at 70% less then what I typically pay. read more

on sunday march 10th, i was in the store to do some shopping and the line was incredibly long with only one cashier on the registers and bless her heart but she looked so stressed out. i got to the register and the cashier (Deja) greeted me and apologized for the long line and she asked for help over the radio and i saw with my own eyes a woman named Nicole look at her and literally tell here she's not going to help because she was busy even though she was just packing up bags on the side. i think that's SO rude of that Nicole girl to literally see how long the line was and refuse to help. something needs to be done about Nicole. also there was VERY poor customer service from a lady doing the mobile check outs as we weren't even told that was a thing and nobody was grabbing customers out of the line. i am EXTREMLY disappointed and annoyed by the lack of customer service on a very obviously busy day and the unprofessionalism to not help out their fellow coworkers who were obviously struggling and swamped to actually do their job. read more

I go to Ulta often for my teen daughter and myself and I don't know if it was an off day or what for this location. I spent $150 and my daughter spent $20. I was supposed to get a free gift from the product line I use but they said they looked and they ran out. HORRIBLE customer service! (I want to be clear this is specifically about this location because I have had other pleasant experiences at many other Ulta locations) I asked a member of the Ulta staff who was walking on the next aisle over for assistance with a hair product and she told me that she only did makeup and could not help me and she directed me to the salon (which was nice). I begin communications with a member from the salon and she was interrupted from someone else needing information from the same computer the member helping me was using yo assist me. Then she had to start all over addressing my inquiry and in the middle of that, the woman who couldn't help me brought a customer to the salon with an inquiry about the cost of eye lashes and the cost of makeup ... Why was she at the salon? She just told me she only did make up, shouldn't she know the answer to the question. The staff member helping me frustratingly gave me a response, which prompted another question in my head, but I didn't get a chance to ask it because she was already on to addresses the needs of the makeup staff member & her customer. I attempted to say thank you and walk off,but she didn't even hear me say that. I wanted to buy some products and schedule an appointment in the salon, but I'm writing this review instead. Horrific customer service at this location, specifically from a manager named "Kandyss". I went in yesterday to get my eyebrows waxed at the benefit brow bar by a lady named Celina. She was nice enough and we had good conversation going. I told her I got my eyebrows waxed three weeks ago and they messed up the tail part of my brow and made them too thin. She waxed me, without showing me her "mapping" and showed me a mirror. I quickly looked at my brows and saw that the tails looked good so I said thanks and paid and left. Later that evening I was getting ready and got a better look at my brows and noticed that the front end of my right eyebrow was gone. I immediately called the store and asked to speak to a manager (Kandyss) and told her what happened. Her response was "ok?" to which I said I'd like my money back. She told me I could come in and it would be refunded. I go in today to get my refund and now purchase a brow pencil, and Kandyss happens to be my cashier. She immediately seemed to know who I was and started off by saying "we reviewed the footage and we saw her map out your brows. And didn't you say they were already messed up?" I started to explain what I told Celina and that I was never shown a "map" of brows, but I was rudely interrupted and disregarded by Kandyss. She actually started to elevate her voice to me. I had an excellent experience here! My stylist, Belinda, was exceptional. I had been struggling with psoriasis for months. I'd been to a dermatologist several times, got all kinds of prescriptions but the scaliness persisted. In just one treatment, Belinda managed to get my scalp cleared up & gave me the best haircut ever! She recommended products that make my hair & scalp feel wonderful. We were just passing through this area and I was counting on Ulta's reputation. The experience was much better than I expected. The price was reasonable too. It was so nice to work with someone who was truly interested in helping me and had the knowledge to get the best out of my particular hair. Belinda is a true professional! read more

I called and spoke to a representative and Shay was attentive, professional and courteous, she even explained to me that a cosmetologist was there if I needed to talk to someone. Yesterday I went in for a cut and color with KELLY, the salon manager. I cannot say enough good things about her! She colored my hair using the 'baby-layage' technique. After she washed and dried it, it wasn't quite perfect so she went through and highlighted a few more places and added some toner to others. There is no way she would let you leave not satisfied with the end result. I love my haircut also! Oh and a side note, Kelly was approached by a customer while coloring my hair and not only took the two minutes to fully explain what she needed(customers daughter was having scalp issues because of her long hair) and even gave her card to the customer in case she had further questions! I wish I could leave no stars...this salon sucks so bad, I don't even know what to say. And yes half the time the cosmetics out on the floor are always out and the testers seem to be missing a lot too. Well I found out why. The girl in the salon that does people makeup goes on the sales floor and takes all the tester supplies she needs to do someone's makeup and they all stay back there until she's done whatever she's doing. There were 3 people she did makeup on while I sat in the salon and she had taken about 30-40 tester items off the floor during those 3 clients and they all sat scattered on trays and counters. Um why doesn't the makeup person have her own set of makeup/kits to use on clients instead of testers off the sales floor?!?!? Back to the hairdresser...my appointment was at 2, she started at 3:15, I was about to leave. The entire reason I asked for 2 is obviously I had plans. She apologized for being late. Ok, I let it go, things happen let's just move on. I wanted a partial foil mainly just my roots and then a toner, I'm doing the process to platinum icy blonde. She raced through my foils so fast that I was hoping like hell she knew what she was doing. After all she's the manger who apparently charges a hell of a lot of money. She rinsed me and applied a toner, it's did not even sit on my hair for 20 seconds before she rinsed it. Went back to the chair and she began blow drying.. My hair looked horrible. The foils she put in were a burnt blonde brass color. Did not match the rest of my hair AT ALL. I've never had that happen. She said oh once you use the purple shampoo a few times it'll turn more blonde. Huh???? Every single time I've ever had my highlights done my highlights have never looked rusty and brassy like that. That's part of what the toner does that she hastily threw on and rinsed right off. Not to mention several spots were not even close to my scalp and you could still see a good amount of my roots. Maybe had she actually taken her time it would have turned out better. Who knows. But I know I will damn sure never go there or recommend that place. It was a mess and not only did it cost me $165 for this half assed job but now I get to wait till my regular stylist is back from medical leave and pay her to fix this mess. She said they watched her, but never once offered to help her find the right make up. I asked if it was busy, and she said they weren't. All they did was chit chat and look down on her because she was dressed for work and not the club. We will order stiff from any other place but Ulla from now on.
