    I am a freelance (travel) makeup artist based in Waldorf. I absolutely love love love makeup so Ulta is a go to spot for me. Unfortunately this Ulta location is by far one of the worst ones I've gone to. The staff never seem to know what they are talking about. Which can be very frustrating for customers who come in looking for items, suggestions and to redeem rewards . I suggest if you must patronize this location download the Ulta app and browse the products before going. Get an idea of what you need or would like to try. The fun thing about Ulta is you can test the products on yourself, right in the store! They supply all sorts of applicators to test items with. I also suggest becoming a rewards member so you receive the sales mags and know when hot new items are coming in. Management should really go over how Ulta rewards works and how customers can use them properly. I've also had issue with that. The sales cashier would not know and just assume it's ok to proceed on with closing out my purchase. This is unfair to customers who earn points and rewards and end up paying more than they should. I have only stumbled across one sales associate at this location who kinda knew her product knowledge. She also knew how to properly explain to me the best way to use my rewards. I wish they trained their employees to have a top 10 must have items based on specific customer needs; such as complexion, skin type, desired appearance, etc. A customer should be able to actually leave with items they are satisfied with after getting home and using them. I know too many women in this area that say they purchase incorrect color items based on sales associates suggestions on color matching and what not. On several occasions I've assisted other customers with their item selections because I've either been approached about my own makeup application/appearance or I've chimed in when I've seen a customer in need of assistance. Ulta really is a cool store, the lay out can be overwhelming, especially on the weekends when it's more crowded and people don't actually know what they need. With better training I think the customer experience could be greatly improved at this location.

    I frequent this store very often. The associates are always friendly and helpful, and the store has every beauty item you could ever need!! A few weeks ago an associates (sorry I'll have to update with her name) was very helpful with my questions about applying lashes, and she gave helpful tips that I have tried which actually work! My cousin who was visiting from out of town that weekend was highly impressed with the kindness of the associates as well. Someone helped her color match liquid Bare Minerals foundation which she now loves, and find the right hue of lip gloss of what she had been searching for. We got to the check out counter and the cashier was all smiles. She gave us a friendly greeting and signed my cousin up Ulta rewards. Happy customers = more items purchased Just take my money Ulta because the ladies at this store serves your brand well!

    Awful customer service. Rarely do I leave bad reviews but I could not let this go. Been in the area for about 6 months now .I've been to this location several times and each time it's been extremely disappointing. Today was the worst. Walked in NO ONE greeted me. A sales associate looked me dead in the face and said nothing. My trip today was to smell and hopefully find some new fragrance. I went over to the fragrance section where again NO ONE greeted me. There were several sales associates on the floor. I was in the store for a good while. At least 20 minutes. In fact instead of greeting me or asking if I needed assistance I realized i was being watched. Every move I made I look up and am associate was looking at me So very disappointed. I continued to browse the fragrance, made my decision and began to walk to the front. I walked past two more associates again neither said anything to me. I won't be back. This location is near my house. If I need to make a purchase from Ulta, I'll do it online or I'll drive further. Don't shop here.

    Staff usually greets at the door.Managers can be helpful. However, store is usually poorly stocked and you're told "Everything we have is out on the floor." I've even come back on days when they get shipments and the following day but always "sold out". This place is convenient, but if you're looking for good product selection ( MAC,etc.) try Annapolis location.

However, when the masseuse entered the room, they had a noticeably negative attitude about the situation. ME as a whole has been going downhill since the pandemic. Turnover is ridiculous and customer service is hit or miss. Here is an excerpt from a similar situation, this review was posted 4/21/25: ".... was scheduled for a 2:00 PM massage appointment with Karen. Upon walking back with her, I asked for clarification about a comment made by the front desk associate, Elisa (sp), who mentioned, "You should get the best service she can give you since you're late." I simply wanted to understand what that meant. Karen responded with an unnecessarily sharp and dismissive tone, saying, "What does that have to do with anything?" Her response felt disrespectful and unprofessional, especially considering my cultural sensitivity to tone and communication style. At that point, I decided to cancel the appointment, as I no longer felt comfortable proceeding. The person who checked me in then informed me that I would be charged for being canceling, I would rather pay the fee than be massaged by someone who addressed me in such a manner." The recipient, who understands how Massage Envy works, attempted to schedule on July 2nd. She was told the next available appointment at Waldorf wasn't until August -- even though online availability showed several openings within a few days. It felt like the staff was purposely making it difficult to redeem the gift. When I confronted them, they suggested trying another location. That second location said the gift could only be used at the original Waldorf store -- again, contradicting what I was told during purchase. I called Waldorf to escalate, but was refused access to a manager and even given a fake corporate phone number. The entire experience was unprofessional, dishonest, and frustrating. The associate who sold me the package appeared to know she'd misled me but offered no help. Unless this is resolved, I would not recommend this location to anyone.

Some of things that I love about this place are that the services provided are listed on their website in detail WITH pricing disclosed next to each service. I hate having to call a place to find out how much and wait for someone to get back to me. Having it like this allowed me to read what they offer at my convivence and call and book the service easily. The lasers they offer are good, but I do still travel to VA for Halo or Morpheous treatments, and hydro facials I would like to see more lasers and facial services offered here but overall what they do offer is good. I see Kelly for these treatments and I have for years. It feels good to develop a long term relationship with someone that is growing with me and understands my skin because she knows it. Kelly has helped me come up with long term treatment plans and is always available on time for her appointments, I have never waited longer than 5 minutes to be seen. I would highly recommend Kelly. I get my Dysport and fillers here, Yhamira does my injections and we have only seen eavh other a few times so far I have found her to be skilled with her techniques and I always look great when she's done. Very friendly and I appreciate the attention she gives to her follow ups, I do not get that at any other places I go Kita, at the front desk is always so happy and friendly and usually knows who I am before I say my name. She gets me scheduled quickly and has always been able to find a way to get me in on the the drop of a dime when I may need an appointment quickly. She also makes sure that I get my appointment reminders which is great service. I just started doing IV therapy here, so far one session. I LOVE IT!!! Will be going back for regular treatments. My skin looked great and I felt so much energy over the next several days. Overall this place is 5 stars all the way. Chic office environment, highly competent staff, ALWAYS friendly, NEVER late, quick to answer questions, a real person ALWAYS answers the phone, close and reliable. I have been a customer for a long time and look forward to our future relationship, Great job Luxxery you guys are awesome!!

When she arrived, she questioned the type of product on my nails and debated with me about whether it was dip powder. She also began criticizing my regular nail tech and repeatedly tried to upsell me on overlays after I explained that I naturally have thin nails. The pedicure portion felt rushed and heavy-handed toward the end. To make matters worse, when I was ready to pay, I was told they only accept Zelle or cash. There was no visible notice of this beforehand. I do not carry cash and was directed to an ATM, which charged a fee. After spending three hours there, that was extremely frustrating. Despite the overall experience, I was still asked if I wanted to add eyebrow services. I came in simply needing my nails and toes done. Instead of leaving relaxed, I left feeling stressed and inconvenienced. Unfortunately, I will not be returning.

She took the time to answer all of my questions and made sure I was as comfortable as possible during the process. The procedure itself took about 15 minutes, not counting the additional time needed to let the numbing cream kick in. As she started the procedure, we realized that more numbing cream was needed, so that was another 10 to 15 minutes tacked on to the time. Unfortunately, the procedure was not as painless as was initially described, but it's not prohibitively uncomfortable. Dr. Kim checked in with me throughout the process and if I needed a break, she would take a pause and give me one. After the procedure, Dr. Kim gave me some wound care instructions as well as some ointment to put on the site as it healed. I'm happy to report that there was no pain or discomfort after the procedure. Procedure side, I love the energy of this place. There's all kinds of holistic, homeopathic, and ayurvedic materials in here including incense, tea, crystals, candles, sage bundles, palo santo, and all sorts of sprays and tonics to help purify your home or your environment. There are even gift sets for all the holistic homegirls in your life. They also sell accessories including ankle bracelets and custom waist beads imported from Ghana. Every single one of the staff members I've met has been absolutely wonderful. Warm, and friendly, and welcoming. I can't wait to come back and try some of the other services offered by this wellness spa-- I've especially got my eye on a good, long massage and guided stretch session.

Oh my take down included a shampoo, condition, blow dry, and flat iron. I opted to forego the flat iron because I wear it in its natural fluffiness. I thought they were kind and communicated what I wanted the entire time. I was in and out within 2.5 hours I think. Each time I've gone, it's only been max 4 people and that includes the stylists, which is nice. Some places are fast but packed and the customer service takes a back seat.
