I subscribed and paid for a year subscription to S2S magazine in August 2014... As of today October 27, 2014, I have not received not one magazine. I've tried to call (301) 390-1111 and no one answers the phones and you can't leave a message because all the mailboxes are full... At this point I just don't know what to do... If they can just send my issues, that would be nice. I have a subscription which I have been subscribing for 3 years. This last year has been hell. I have to call every other month and they never can get me the current issue. I have followed this magazine since I was a child and I really just want to get the issues. While I am appreciative of anything that puts the spotlight on the celebrity scene and life dealing with African Americans, I am sorely disappointed at how Sister 2 Sister publishes its magazine. Part of it makes me feel it is for lower educated people only interested in gossip, while giving you a sip of spirituality to make somebody that runs the magazine feel better. Take this months publication for instance. Most of the people that were interviewed were celebs that happened to be at T.D. Jakes 35th Anniversary. OMG! Is the funding for the magazine that bad? Many of the interviews are in question and answer type format because someone is too lazy to actually write a well thought out article with vivid imagination. The articles that are written are so short and to the point leaving you wondering what type of ghetto-fabulous men and women work for this magazine. Don't even get me started on the cheesy website. The most famous word used for this publication is "rumor." If you can't get me some facts why the hell do I want to purchase this magazine. Not enough fashion, not enough spotlights on successful/local sisters throughout the U.S. What about travel? Help us learn a new language. Talk about the surplus of black women and the surplus of Asian men in the world. Help bring them together and help sisters broaden their real men horizons. Help us better culture ourselves...there is so much you can do with this magazine and I would love to purchase a subscription but I had to settle for buying one magazine after a few years of leaving it alone only to discover they still don't get it where real educated sisters are at in their lives or what they want. read more

For the last 3 weeks I have been trying to contact someone at S2S magazine. I called (800)284-7062 and got a busy signal. I finally found another number (301)390-1111 but of course everyone's voice mailbox was full and I could not leave a message. I have subscribed to this magazine for several years and never had a problem. I noticed in the spring that on two ocassions, I did not receive my magazine. I called customer service who was apologetic and extended my subscription for another month past my subscription date. Things were fine for a while and then it happened again. I have not received my September or October issues. I probably will not receive my November issue either. I think I am going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. read more

OMG....This is my last resort. I've been a subscriber for YEARS and I've happy up until the past few months. I haven't received an issue since June/July. I've called every month only to be lied to repeatedly. Late shipping, distributor problems, not late at all are all excuses I've been given. I was told several times they would personally mail out an issue the same day....still holding my breath. I called back only to be told the current issue was sold out and they would extend my subscription by one month. They've been extending me for the past 3 months and as of yesterday, October 27th I haven't received the current issue which was due no later than October 14th. Why subscribe when I buy it on the newsstand before it hits my mailbox? Obviously there is something going on, but don't lie to your faithful and loyal readers/subscribers. I'll be calling again in the morning, but this is it. I will be asking for a refund on all unmailed issues and I'll have to find another magazine to read. read more

I was a subscriber to Sister 2 Sister Magazine, and still had an active subscription account, where I did not receive all the magazines that I paid for. It is very unprofessional of Sister 2 Sister to not officially inform their subscribers that the magazine had stop publishing the print copy of the magazine. I called the magazine subscription department a few months ago, before I finally read it online that the print publications had stopped, and spoke to customer service because I was not receiving my magazines. The customer service rep wanted to put the blame on the postal service, advising me to contact my local post office, making it seem as if that was the reason I had not received my magazines. They knew all along that my magazines were never mailed to me. I tried calling them recently, and I continued to get a busy signal. (Never heard of calling a 1-800#, and getting a busy signal). I also tried calling one of their alternate automated phone numbers, and could not leave a message, as the mailbox was full. To date, I have not received an official letter from Sister 2 Sister informing me of the status of the magazine, or a refund for the magazines that I paid for, and did not receive. This is very unprofessional, and Sister 2 Sister has left a bad taste in my mouth!!! read more
