I have principles and am not elderly) which you can order from 8am onward. It's mega laid-back and non-wanky despite looking like a hipster playpen, so come here safe in the knowledge that you're not going to feel old and out of place. Brekky menu has the usual bacon and egg mashups, but their extras make coming here truly worthwhile; homemade hash browns, baked beans, chili beans, garlic mushrooms, roti bread, corn cakes, pikelets and more, all with gluten free options. If you're a coffee snob you won't be disappointed. Staff are funny and friendly, which is always a nice surprise and counts for so much with me. Remember to order and pay at the counter.

There are more tables and seats upstairs if you have a group of people, plus it doubles as an art gallery. Wonderful attentive service, (the owner, also our waiter at the time, sat down with us for a chat whilst he took our order - which may not be to everyone's liking, but I think he could read the customers and situation accordingly). My savoury pancakes with chicken and mushroom in a creamy sauce were delicious! Coffee hit the spot nicely too. Meals all round got big ticks from everyone at the table. I am looking forward to heading there again some day when back in Hobart.

I went for the vegetarian meal and I was very surprised as to the variety flavors crammed into this bowl. Plenty of food for one. If you like spicy, sour, marinated - this is the dish for you. I loved every bite and every bite was a bit different from the previous. The tacos we're spicy and plentiful. "Very good" says my wife. And all this knowing we are supporting a local Non-Profit made it for a great experience for lunch. Knowing that the Enterprise is helping at-risk youth and very efficient in the use of environmentally friendly food use makes this place special.

It's tucked up the back of a collection of businesses at 40 Molle St, right near the rivulet track and a little park (speaking of parks, there are no cafe parking spaces at 40 Molle St but the street parking is unmetered nearby on Molle St itself). The menu items are great and the cafe is staffed with some high quality sorts from all over town, but the particularly wonderful thing about this cafe is its ethos and just what it does for the community. Hamlet is a not for profit organisation that takes on locals facing barriers to employment and helps get them experience and learning opportunities. The day we were in for breakfast, one of our waitresses had a very strong accent and another was in for her first day, so perhaps it's important to know what Hamlet's all about because I think it helps you temper your expectations of the wait staff. Wait, this sounds like I'm a jerk customer. I'm not. I swear. Oh my gosh. Please don't look at me like that. I'M NOT. GO TO HAMLET

We came here for a late breakfast/early lunch. It is somewhat more of a refined cake and dessert…read moretype bakery, and the dessert items did look fabulous in the case. For breakfast however, it wasn't very good for me as there were very limited lower carb/higher protein items. We ordered an almond croissant and a sausage and shiraz roll along with a flat white coffee. We sat outside as they didn't have the AC running and it was really way too warm inside. They have table service inside and servers that run out the food you had ordered at the counter. They were all super friendly and even asked if everything was satisfactory as they cleared our table. Unfortunately, neither of the baked goods were great. The almond croissant had a nicely laminated dough although it needed a tad of salt. The dough was buttery however lacking flavor most likely due to a lack of salt in the butter they used in the dough. The filling was almost like really dense cake batter with basically no almond flavor - the texture seemed almost right, maybe they forgot the almond paste or almond extract. We are used to a much, much stronger flavored almond croissant with almond paste inside. There were nicely toasted almond slices on the top. The sausage roll was a real disappointment. Although it looked really nice it was very heavy, seemed greasy and had two fundamental flaws. The dough was too thick around the sausage so when they wrapped it and baked it there was way too much dough and it was actually nearly raw all along the bottom edges. The sausage was not crumbled or taken out of the casing so when you bit through the roll (or even cut it as we did) the entire sausage slipped right out of the dough and left a big empty hole! It did have nice caramelized onions and some herbs or spinach (didn't eat enough to know exactly!) between the dough and sausage - they might have contributed to the wet/raw sogginess of the dough if they were not cooked enough and then released water into the dough. They were very gracious when I asked if I could get a refund for the sausage roll as I could not find anything else I wanted to get as a replacement. Our server could not have been any more professional and nice about it. He got approval from his manager and gave us the refund. The flat white was very good. If I needed to eat some lovely desserts I'd give them another try given their professional staff and good service.
