Very friendly service and a great selection of beer. I focused on trying the IPAs available, and I was not disappointed. My favorite was the 'First Beer We Named' with a strong IBU of 83; not extremely hoppy but I could tell it was brewed very well to have a a smooth taste. The IPAs are served in 13oz glasses and each is $6, so not exactly the cheapest but on par with others. Cool little setup overall with some pinball and other board games available. First of all, my review is based on the beer selection. The location and facilities were actually pretty great and I think the tap room is very well designed. I really like the idea of Sisyphous and I like how they tied in the story with the guy hauling the rock up the mountain. However, I did not like the lack of selection of beer here. NOTE: If you like IPA's this is the place to go! I generally am not a fan of super hoppy IPA's or Pale Ale's, so it was disappointing to see that those were the majority of the available selection. As a brewery, I think it's good to have beers that will appeal to a wide variety of taste buds. So for me going here was a bust, but my friend who loves IPA's really liked it. Overall, I would say that this place is good for the IPA lover but doesn't offer a big enough selection for those who crave a different taste. read more

One quibble: I wish there had been a roster of the comedians who performed. There were a few names I would have liked to remember. Two cents: Take the Irish chocolate stout over the peanut butter. I got to admit when I first visited this spot when they first opened the tap room doors, I was not blown away by their tap selection. Fast forward just a few months afterwards and I can't seem to get enough of the beers that are coming out of this brewery. They have stepped up their brew game and I am huge fan. I believe they have something for every beer palate imaginable and then some. Oh and for the non-beer drinkers (I guess there are a few of those in the Twin Cities somewhere) they have craft soda. They have a great tap room space, with plenty of seating, board/card games to keep everyone entertained and a few table top games. They have another space connected to the brewery for private events and FREE Comedy Nights that they do once a week, I have yet to make it out there on those nights, but it's on my list for the near future. Absolutely adore this place... Everything from their attractive branding to the quality of their beer makes me an instant fan and loyal customer. The tap room is spacious and is home to two shuffle board tables. They also offer a plethora of board games that can be enjoyed over a beer. Of their current selections, I highly recommend their Black Ale. It is perfectly balanced and closes with a clean and addictive coffee finish. My girlfriend and I initially went out for one drink to try the place and immediately fell in love with the brewery and staff! We ended up building a crazy flight of all the beers on the list and each one was delicious in its own way. We ended up having some friends come meet us at the bar, played board games, and shuffleboard. Joe and Michael were experts in understanding each beer on the list and describing which one to try next. They were really funny and welcoming. A dynamic duo! The taproom is gorgeous! The bf and I walked here last Sunday since it's a lovely walk through the sculpture garden and we had yet to check out the closest brewery to us. I tried the belgian blonde and it was delicious. The bf tried the west coast IPA and loved it. They have a few games to play and some cool art work. All the windows make it very comfortable. I own a dog and don't mind dogs, but people sprawl their dogs everywhere inside here and then a woman had the nerve to yell at me when I walked near her dog who was in the way of me walking to the bathroom. Other people there would take them off leash and expect you to fawn over them. Beer was OK, but I definitely won't be back to this taproom. Too many better places to hangout in MPLS without feeling like you are in a dog park. read more

This place was a nice spot to grab a drink and hangout. I came here on a Friday afternoon after work to catch up with a friend. There was plenty of street parking so that was convenient. The inside of the place is really nice. It has a nice vibe and has plenty of seating - even though it is a smaller taproom. Their beer list was on a screen so it was hard to see. It would be nice if it was printed out or posted multiple places. I tried the double IPA and it was all right. Very citrusy but not very hoppy, which I was hoping for since it was a double. Really like the atmosphere-- shuffleboard, pinball and board games. Good beer and having flight options is key. Only negative of my visit was the music selection. Having the same artist play the entire time was a bit of a distraction... especially since it was a vocalist who had whiny and very irritating voice. Finally took the walk down the hill to try this place. In short, I thought the IPA was delicious, which is certainly important. I also liked that I could bring my dog. But the space didn't do much for me--pretty industrial and drab. There is no outside area, so you really are stuck inside. I can see myself maybe holing up in here during the winter since it's close, but it isn't terribly inviting during the summer. read more

So these guys are brand new and we went there the second weekend they were open. We love the beer, the environment and especially Albert the dog! I love their Black Ale (they add fresh brewed coffee to it as they pour it). As with any new brewery though, the consistency from batch to batch can differ, which is OK, and that usually evens out after a few months (Dangerous Man used to have this problem as well). It's not bad, it's just that sometimes the same beer will taste a bit different than you first remembered it. Again, that usually evens out as they hit their stride, which these guys are well on their way to doing. That said, I haven't had a "bad" beer here yet. The Brett-IPA is definitely worth a try as well. We keep going back because they have an ever rotating selection of new brews and the environment is really laid-back and fun. Also, this place is tucked away neatly, so be sure to look for the sign. There's usually ample street parking (no meters). Oh, and the owners (husband and wife) are awesome and super friendly as are their entire staff. There's lots of board games to play here as well. read more

Our absolute favorite brew house. This tap room is different. The beers are never the same so skip it if you are a creature of habit. The beers are always adventurous, but not goofy extreme. The owners are nearly always behind the bar and super friendly. If you are lucky you get to pet Albert the collie / Shepard mix dog that is friendly to all the patrons. read more

Sisyphus has great dark beers. They imitate other local beers and have playful names that play on the beers they are imitating. Like if they are copying Dangerous Man, they call it Safe Lady. They also have fun events. We've been to comedy shows, Grown Up Club events, and to craft shows here. My significant other goes way more than I do, but I do like it a lot. We also run into neighbors there or have organized neighbor events there since we only live a mile or so from the place. Everyone we mention this place to has never heard of it. Their beers are only like $5 which is what a beer should cost when it is of this caliber, but many places charge way more for dark beers. They also have a great mural that I believe Adam Turman made on the side of their building. At one point, it was vandalized and the brewery seemed to know who had vandalized it, but instead of calling him out, they named a beer after their nickname for him: Asstoy. Good beer. Some of their comedy shows can be kind of awkward. My impressive of comedy is that it is often more tragic. I don't like comics who make fun of their weight, race, looks, etc. So many comedians do this. It is also very awkward when the comedians start making fun of the audience members near the front of the room. We were at a show where a couple ended up leaving because of this. The worst though was when the male owner talked about his sex life with the female owner. So inappropriate. Maybe I'm a prude, but I just prefer a sillier form of comedy than the insult based comedy. So basically awesome beers. Catherine the owner is great. Bartenders have always been great. Fun events. Just would prefer that the comedy aspect was actually funny. read more

My husband and I frequent Sisyphus often. They don't have a largest selection of beer, but there is just enough for most to find something they can enjoy. The tap room is cozy, but has ample seating for guests or room to stand and mingle. Its industrial, but they have added nice wooden booths and plants hanging from the wall which is a nice touch to make it more cozy. We also bring our dog there with us which is a bonus. Its great to not have to leave her at home, and whenever we are they staff offers us a water dish for her. They also have free shuffle board which we like to play with friends, along with a shelf of games. Its a great, small spot with plenty of parking on the street that is free and room for big and small groups. I've tried most of there beers, since they rotate them frequently and haven't found one I hate! The owners are there nearly every time I've gone and they are both friendly and helpful. read more

Just checked this place out for the first time. Really low key, spacious and still inviting. And the beer ... didn't try too many (yet) but what I did try was surprisingly good. I drink a lot of microbrews and I like a lot of different beer, all types, but there's not many that hit in that "wow" spot. First one I tried (Steam) was right up there, took home two of their 750ml growlettes. Nice staff, and as others have said, Albert is one of the friendliest dogs ever, walked up and cuddled right in for some serious petting. I will definitely be back. read more

Beer is okay compared to the other minneapolis taprooms. Too pricey as well comparatively speaking. $5 for a tulip sized beer which you can get for $3 elsewhere. Decor is ok. Plus side are the shuffle board tables. read more
