Sit Means Sit was an absolute life saver. I had a family emergency and my family member had to be admitted to the hospital. I called Sit Means Sit and they got our Georgia Ann during a busy time of the year with Thanksgiving coming up. At first it was just a couple night stay because we didnt know the length of the hospital stay. But one health condition led to another and we had to keep extending Georgias stay. Shannon (from Broadway location) kept meeting our needs of boarding for Georgia and remained patient with our unknown discharge date and kept extending Georgias stay. Shannon was so amazing and very easy to talk to, I felt like I was talking to a long time friend with the way she made me feel so comfortable. Georgia ended up staying for what we thought would be a couple nights to a full 9 day stay. Sit Means Sit sent us pics and updates everyday of Georgia stay and they even had a Thanksgiving photo op and gave her pup-kin pie. Sit Means Sit really made me feel apart of their family when they showed concern for my family. They sent prayers and best wishes for a speedy recovery for us. I highly recommend SMS to anyone looking for a place to train their dog or to board them.

I can't say enough about how grateful my husband and I are for SMS Cibolo's board and training program. My two chihuahuas, though the loves of our life, were terrors. At home, they were so sweet and just laid around like cats UNTIL there was any noise whatsoever (slammed door, car alarm, lawn mower) and then they would be triggered and react (bark) incessantly at the door or window all day, every day. They also became very territorial over COVID, leading to aggressive barking and even biting of our guests. The last straw was when we left them with a friend when we went to Florida. We almost had to come back early because they were so aggressive and unruly. We were desperate. We had a free consultation with Austin at SMS and he assured us that these are all behaviors that can be understood, addressed and minimized. We did a three week board and train program that had 15 total days of boarding and training and we would take them on the weekends to practice. It includes a year of group training classes after. I was waiting for the call that my young one bit someone and my older one wouldn't shut up. The call never came. The trainers at SMS Cibolo got to know my dogs' personalities and boundaries and worked with them. My dogs picked up the skills they taught and let the trainers show them affection and praise. After we took them home for good, we were able to utilize the place/come/break commands and the walking commands easily. If they were triggered by a noise, the collar and remote allows us to get their attention and break the fixation much quicker than we ever could before. So far, the group training classes are reinforcing those skills while also introducing more people and dog socialization. We're confident that we'll be able to invite friends and family over soon and be assured this training will reduce and prevent any other mishaps. This was the best investment in my family's future we have ever made. It was expensive, but it was 50% less expensive than the trainers we were looking into in California. And it was worth it. Plus, they do boarding for future vacations! Highly recommend!

Our dog had a great experience here. We and our dog both learned how to learn and teach our pooch good behavior.

From day one, the Arfordable team was fully invested in his success. We started with a 6‑week 1:1 program, but day training ended up being a better fit for my schedule. After only a few sessions, his barking habits were significantly reduced. Even with how stubborn and difficult he was in the beginning, they never gave up on him. They gave me the confidence I needed to handle him in social settings and never once made me feel discouraged. Thanks to their guidance, patience, and consistency, he even earned his AKC Canine Good Citizen, something I never imagined would be possible when I first brought him home. Fast forward to today: he lives for Playcare. He adores his best buds and his favorite aunties, and the joy he has walking through their doors says everything. Arfordable goes above and beyond with their attention to detail between themed days, dog birthday parties, Secret Santa, and group outings. All the little touches that make this place feel like a second home. When we're out of town, I never worry. I know he's safe, loved, and cared for as if he were one of their own. Arfordable has played a huge role in shaping the dog he is today, and I'm endlessly grateful for the care, dedication, and heart they put into everything they do. Thank you, Arfordable, for loving my boy like family and giving him a place where he truly belongs.

We took a six week class which I felt was helpful, but he did need some basic obedience and we enrolled in that class. They taught us how to train our dog to sit , stay, wait ,place as well as learning how to go to his designated space for down and settle. I felt the instructors were excellent. I can't remember all their names, but Fab was excellent. when Rudy graduated from his class, he got a certificate and had a graduation picture taken. Right now I feel that I need to work on these basics before I enroll him in intermediate class, but when he's ready, I will definitely go back.

*using same review from broadway location since we train at both facilities *…read more In 2021, i thought that my people/dog aggressive blue heeler was unfixable and possessed the potential fate of being put down. It is now Jan 3, 2023 and I am truly so happy with SMS. My consultation was late December 2021 with Austin at the Broadway location. I explained to him my concerns and goals and he was very enthusiastic about Bojack's potential with the program. Austin had me test the e-collar for my own reassurance as an owner. (test was on fatty area of the palm). I never had doubts about using this sort of training tool, especially with a dog like Bojack which I knew needed something more than just a "good boy! here's a pat on the head". Bojack did the 6 day course where he attended a daycare-like setting at the Broadway facility 3 days for 2 weeks. (He was muzzled for each class which I fully supported). After every class, I would get a lesson on what Bojack learned such as how to use the e-collar and the basic commands that follow with it, (heel, place, sit, down, stay, come). Bojack already knew these commands from a previous program he did but I was mostly looking forward to the years' worth of group classes that are included in the price. (these group classes were the absolute selling point for me. I was very dedicated to Bojack's progress). Bo's first group class was Jan 27, 2022. It has been almost an entire year and I truly can't believe the progress he has made with SMS. In these past 12 months, Bo has truly mastered most of the commands and exercises that we do during group class. Bojack has now been accepted into the brand new Advanced II class that will consist of weekly field trips for higher-skilled exercises and a more challenging environment. This is all credited towards the amazing trainers he has seen throughout the year: Patricia and Mike throughout the year, Zach for the last half of the year and Isaac for these past couple weeks. (also a big thank you to all the trainees/newer employees that help run the facility). I am not going to lie, Bojack still has reactivity issues, but I have accepted and so should you, (if you are a severely reactive dog owner), that these behaviors will likely not go away due to many unique reasons. BUT, what you CAN do is learn how to be proactive. Proactivity and consistency is the key for owning dogs like these. You can't expect to drop a couple grand on SMS, not attend any group classes and then expect a cured dog. Those group classes are absolutely vital to you and your dog's training abilities. Being consistent is so important, I can't stress that enough. With the dedication I put into Bo and SMS for the past 12 months, I can now take Bo to any crowded place and feel confident in his ability to execute an excellent heel walk while walking by distractions amongst other commands. Thank you trainers and Lisa for the environment you created, for the training you provided and the confidence you instilled in me and Bo :)

She quickly identified that he was incredibly food-motivated, and training began! We have been implementing every technique she demonstrated to us over the past two months. I can happily say that we have seen incredible improvement in our dog. He no longer lunges and barks at dogs and cars. Instead, he sits and waits for his treat (hot dog) until they pass. He responds remarkably well to "leave it" after using the training she showed us. Stephanie came incredibly prepared with her own treats and even another dog in the car! She spent a good amount of time with us, and only left when we were comfortable with the training techniques and listened to all of our questions for quite a while. He is greeting guests better and better every day and we now go on relaxing, virtually pull-free walks twice a day. This is a fantastic value for the quality of training.
