Disappointed - Not What Was Promised The training at Sit Means Sit started off fun and engaging, and we had high hopes. But once the contract period ended, we were told our dog is "reactive" and would need additional (and expensive) training beyond what we already paid for. This was never mentioned when we signed up. In fact, the owner assured us that whatever his own dog could do, ours would eventually be able to do too--and that they wouldn't stop training until we got there. That promise was not kept. Despite signs early on that our dog had some reactivity, they waited until the original program ended to inform us that we'd need to pay more. We feel misled and disappointed, especially after spending a significant amount upfront. Be sure to read the fine print and ask direct questions about what happens if your dog is considered "reactive." Otherwise, you may end up in the same situation--having to pay another trainer to finish the job. read more

Every group class we come away with something new. We receive encouragement and suggestions for how to go forward. There are all types of dogs at different levels - the groups accommodate everyone. Great experience every time. The training is effective and makes us enjoy Abby even more as we learn better ways to communicate. Our fellow neighborhood dog walkers comment about how well mannered and sweet Abby is - they have noticed the changes resulting from Sit Means Sit. Happily - we still have more training to come! The investment of time and money is well worth it! read more

Paid through the nose for shi*ty training! "MIKE" in Portland tried to CHARGE me MORE than what was AGREED to in a written Contract! When I challenged him, he put his tail between his legs and apologized profusely!! TOO LATE!! Ya'll are THIEVES and your trainers SUCK! PLEASE DON'T EVER bring your dogs to this facility!! read more

We can't say enough good things about Wes and Sit Means Sit. We first contacted Wes when our golden-doodle puppy was 4 months old. He gave us the tools and skills to start with basic obedience and move on to more advanced training. We have truly enjoyed working with Wes and the whole team at Sit Means Sit and would highly recommend them to anybody looking for qualified and professional trainers. "I enjoyed our free evaluation so much! The trainer was very professional, informative and kind. He arrived on time. Spoke with me and each of my children, and our boxador 'Cash' responded to him immediately. I was extremely impressed by the dogs he brought with him also. I use my Great Dane as a therapy dog in my classroom. Because he is always with children, he must be well behaved and healthy. That's why when I am in training, about four weeks out of the year, I board my dog with Sit Means Sit of Corpus Christi. They take care of my dog like he was their own. They love him and look after him and help him to be the sweet, healthy, lovable goofball that I, and my students, need him to be. Thank you Sit Means Sit of Corpus Christi!! We started the program about 6 weeks ago. It is amazing how after a few lessons our dog Charley was able to calm down and relax with new people in the house. The only one who was eaten was the turkey on Thanksgiving. Our out of town guests did not have to hide from him and we did not have to put him in another room. I would recommend this trainer to anyone who has a dog who is not adjusting, who doesn't always listen and who won't let you even talk to the pizza delivery guy without giving him a heart attack. We have tried other programs and even did an immersion program with another training facility and had minimal results. This feels like results we can live with and build on. read more

Rylie showed up on the porch and was basically a puppy out of control. Wes definitely taught Rylie and I what it's like to really take a walk and enjoy it...no more pulling on the leash or walking crazy. We've both come a long way and now Rylie and I enjoy each other more. Rylie also goes to daycare at his Grammies and he minds her as well. I didn't think I would ever get him to sit still or listen, but with Wes 's patience and expert training Rylie and I are so grateful and I would highly recommend Wes with Sit Means Sit. read more

They're amazing trainers. My dog Foster was out of control! Two weeks with Sit Means Sit he came back a completely different dog, obeying my commands. The training isn't over when the dog comes back. You have to keep up by enforcing what he/she has learned. Not only are the trainers great, they care deeply about each dog they train. Foster had a bad infection on his neck. They showed me how to clean and take care of this problem. They also checked in periodically to see how he was doing. I highly recommend Sit Means Sit. read more

Wes is great! We have an older rescue who knew some basic commands, but wouldn't follow them consistently. After just a few lessons with Wes, Jackson is following commands both on and off leash. We are learning to walk on leash without pulling and deal with distractions. Thanks to Wes and Sit Means Sit, our holiday party was a huge success for not only myself and our guests, but for Jackson as well. The guests like that they were not "rushed" by the dog as soon as they walked in. YEAH!! Thanks Wes! read more
