I called this hospital needing immediate medical attention and supportive care for my cat with FIP…read moreon Tuesday night. I had called 5 other hospitals prior to calling here. We had been recommended to call Great Lakes Pet Emergencies. So that's what we did. As I was explaining the situation to the woman on the phone, she cut me off and said "well we're still seeing patients from 5:00 pm. we wouldn't have time to treat him". I said "okay I understand, do you have any recommendations for any other hospitals that I could call, because you are the 6th hospital we've tried." She stated "well honestly that just the reality of emergency medicine this close to a holiday so I can't help you" I work in a vet hospital myself. I understand having bad days where you're backed up like no other and everyone is upset with you. I'm not upset they couldn't see us. It was late and they had more than enough going on. However, the lack of empathy and professionalism that was used on this phone call was astounding to me, especially given that I had just explained to her that my cat was actively dying in my arms. I could never imagine addressing a crying pet parent with such a lack of compassion, even on the busiest of days. I certainly hope that they treat the patients who actually do receive care at their hospital with a gentler hand.

PLEASE PLEASE do not bring your animal to Dr. Freysinger. He is downright negligent with his care…read morefor animals. He has been my pet's primary vet throughout the majority of her life. Recently my dog appeared to be experiencing some disorientation and had glassy eyes. I immediately rushed her into the Valley Animal Clinic to be seen. Dr. Freysinger was extremely hesitant to examine her despite her previously having been brought to the clinic many times before. He did not say what he thought was wrong with her or give any indication of a diagnosis and instead wrote me a prescription for eye drops. He was adamant that I give her a sedative before her next visit despite the fact that she displayed no aggressive behavior whatsoever and was clearly ill and in need of care. After giving her the drops as instructed throughout the day, she showed no improvement and I took her to another veterinarian where they informed me my dog has a serious illness that was apparently never diagnosed DESPITE REGULAR VISITS TO THE CLINIC AND DR. FREYSINGER. My dog is now losing her vision and I have a hard time believing that a trained professional was so resistant to treating an animal who was clearly in need. I also struggle to understand how he missed such a glaringly obvious illness over the course of her care at the clinic, whereas another clinic was able to diagnose and accurately treat her immediately with no understanding of her history. As an extreme animal lover, I'm appalled at how my pet was treated and cannot bear for any other pet owners to go through a similar experience with their own beloved animals. Please take your pets to a competent veterinarian and avoid Dr. Freysinger and the Valley Animal Clinic.

Taking a cat to the vet is never a good time, but the staff here does their best to make the visit…read moreas painless as possible. After I sign in, the receptionists take me out of the waiting area as soon as an exam room is available. You may have to wait a little bit longer but I would much rather pass the time alone in the room with my cat rather than have her carrier be sniffed by dogs. Dr. Brinker and the techs have great bedside manner and really listen to my concerns. I feel confident in the suggestions that she makes for the plan of care and when I had to leave my cat overnight I wasn't worried. That is another service they offer; if you cannot bring your pet at the scheduled appointment time then you can drop them off before you head to work and come pick them up before their office closes. It is not the cheapest vet in the area but the pricing is still reasonable and you really get what you pay for. I've only started coming here 2 months ago but I will happily return as a loyal customer.
