Our sweet golden was attacked by an aggressive dog and sustained serious injuries. Staff did a great job getting him to the vet, but owner didn't notify us and was extremely rude when she did call. I'm happy for people who've had a great experience, but I can assure you we did NOT. I am 54 years old and have never in my life been spoken to in that manner. They have no interest in truthfulness and I'm still alarmed that I was told my dog had gotten into bleach. Please, take your pets elsewhere. Absolutely horrible. read more

I can't recommend this place enough! The staff and the facilities are the best. The care and love they gave my boys while we were gone was unbelievable. We would never take our very special hoveranian (a Pomeranian that can leap three feet and wiggle so that he can hover for 2-3 seconds). The staff is excellent, empathetic, caring, expert, and 100% trustworthy. Our dog loves us, hates to see us pack, but just saying Wanna go to Howl-A--Day and he starts doing acrobatic backflips; his eyes lit like a lottery winner. When picked up, he is always perfectly groomed, smells great, and resembles a kid on Christmas. Over many years we have boarded many animals many places, but there is no more caring, personable, professional place for day care, short or long-term boarding, or grooming than this. read more

We have been taking our baby (Marlee) there for 3 years now. Marlee has very speical needs as she was very sick as a puppy and they were excellent with her. I would never consider taking her anywhere else!! We now have a 2nd dog that was rescued at 5 years old and is very skidish, but the staff there has been working with her everytime we go and now she just goes in and loves the staff up. She is a GS so she does bark at other dogs and other people but I don't have any stress leaving them there. I have had to take them to a different location ONCE only because Howl a Day was booked up and it was a last min. trip that had come up. The other place was not as friendly, more expensive, and just over all did not like that place. So I can honestly say I will never take them anywhere else! I hired them to pet sit overnight-not a good experience. The sitter arrived, did NOT let my dogs out-did NOT feed them-I had to come home-they still took my money though! Not happy! read more

We have been using this place for our 2 dogs since 2007. Our dogs have a great time there, the facility isnt fancy but is comfortable. They have ground heating in the winter and ac in the summer. Each kennel has an outside area accessible to ur dog at all time. They clean the kennels everyday. Offer a discount on 2nd animal, and free bath if longer than a week stay. Beth is very nice and passionate about her business and canine/human customers. We dont go anywhere else. Take them there while we r vacationing is definitely giving us peace of mind, 3-4 times a year. read more

Used to take dogs there regularly. Both dogs contracted kennel cough there is 2014. After returning to two sick dogs, I learned from my vet that the kennel knew that they had the illness at the time I left the dogs and they chose not to warn pet owners of the illness. I should have been warned so that I could make a decision about whether to leave the dogs there or take them elsewhere. Also, i grew tired of the continuous "herbal medication" sales pitch, despite indicating that I had no interest in "medicating" my healthy dogs with unregulated, untested products. It seems like this place had become focused on generating revenue at the expense of animals' wellbeing. My dogs were stressed due to overcrowding and too much noise. Would not use again. read more

We've had dogs and cats for 25 years. For the last 8 years we've lived in Sanford Michigan. We take our dogs everywhere but there are certain times each year when we need to board our pets, and we have exclusively used Howl A Day when we need to board our fur kids. I wouldn't take my animals anywhere else. Howl a day's staff treat my pets as their own. Everyone knows the names of my pets. The owners are good at what they do and who they hire. Yesterday we boarded our paraplegic German Shepherd. He's nearly 13 and this was his first stay after losing function in his legs. He got a lot of kisses and hugs from staff. The staff took great care of him. The staff are friendly, good listeners and caring. They didn't bat an eye at learning how to care for him, including getting him in and out of his wheel chair. They had recommendations based on their experience that were thoughtful and very helpful in making his stay with his new infirmity both safe and positive for him. We got an unscheduled kennel tour as I helped get our 3 dogs situated in the new cabin facility, which is very nice. Everything was clean, as has been our consistent experience. It was easy to hold a conversation about our dog's special needs as the other dogs at the kennel were remarkably quiet and calm. We also took a look at the suites behind the grooming station to make a mental comparison between those and the new cabins. We used both cabin rooms this time but the suites are larger than the cabins and it may suit our dis-abled boy better in the summer when the weather is better and he can be with our other dogs as company (A paraplegic dog may be able to scoot on his bottom and can get stuck in a dog door that isn't closed). read more
