I took my very expensive prescription sunglasses to Site For Sore Eyes in the Fairfield mall. I walked in with a full shade, purple, dark tint. That I got from this location. They told me 1-2 hours I can pick them up. They call me 24 hours later saying done and ready to pick up. When I get there to pick up, they hand me half, light brown shade sunglasses back. I asked 3 times why and was ignored for response. I told them I'd like the same tinting as before. They told me they needed 2 hours to fix it. 4 hours later I get a call, done and ready to pick up. I go back to the mall and they hand me a half tinted, light purple shade tint sunglasses. I asked why only half the lense was tinted and the rest was clear, no tint no color at all, clear like the reading glasses inside or night driving glass. Completely clear. She told me that was the best they could do. I said the original ones were fully tinted and completed here so why can't these match that? Again she tells me that's the best they can do. The end result is I walked out with the same damaged lenses I walked in with and my money back. Never will I go to Site For Sore Eyes again. The reason I left 2 stars is because the lady the nice and I did get my money back. read more

Been here about 10 years ago but I broke my eye glasses last night and decided to stop by and see if they could assist me. Daniel was wonderful! He found a replacement frame and popped my old lenses until I see my eye doctor. Everything was 30% off and 5 minutes later he had my glasses working and I could see! Just about everything went well, today. I happened to be in the Fairfield mall today for a visit to H&M. Although H&M also provided excellent service, their inventory is low, out of my pants. I digress. On my way out of the mall, I noticed Sight For Sore Eyes, which I had no familiarity with nor had a read about them on Yelp I have VSP insurance which they accepted, my first question, to Mr. Daniel. I then asked if he carried Swedish brand glasses Skaga? He did not carry said brand. I explained I had found this brand at Kaiser for $280, but Kaiser doesn't accept VPS insurance. I explained, for the past 60 days I had been unsuccessful in finding any other local & when I was abroad. I explained to Mr.Daniel, I would likely return to Kaiser, purchase at $280 & try to submit a claim to VSP. Mr. D is an excellent salesman. I was able to show him three or four pictures of exactly what I wanted. BTW: Skaga SK 2153 200 53 18. It's a beautifully designed frame, in blue color with slight details in black. I will hopefully remember to attach said pics. He then told me he could get them for me in 2-3 weeks. He then showed me a photo online & he had found the exact frame & color, as I was aware it is available in several colors but my eyes are naturally blue & I thought it worked together well between the color-match & design. When we began discussing transition options he suggested blue; so when outdoors the lenses will tint-blue, he said similar to the shirt I was wearing & thus match the frames with the transition to blue. Great suggestion, I also opted for the other niceties: anti-glare, anti-scratch, blue-light-protection. I believe he also said, if within one-year, the lense is scratched, it would be replaced for $50, seemed reasonable. I think the only option not available was polarization, for this pair, but you know I didn't stop at one pair. I went home & found two different previous pairs with outdated prescriptions. We agreed to turn one pair into readers, as I don't like the bifocals. I think I just agreed to pay for the anti-glare. The other pair I had was Maui-Jim outdated prescription with bifocals, which I despised. He said he could put my prescription into these, which would be dedicated to outdoor-distance with polarization. He told me he would sweeten the deal with a free pair of prescription glasses, for distance, to return in one hour. Also, promised within same hour to update my reader glasses, older ones. So, when I returned, an hour later, it still took some time but I didn't care, no rush. I ended up leaving with my old reader glasses updated & the free one, for driving-distance. In they said in about two weeks the ordered pair & the Maui-Jims would be available. I told them, I wouldn't mind if it took a month. Inasmuch as I had the readers & the drivers I can be patient for a month to get exactly what I wanted, with better options, service, price & willingness to get me the exact product which I couldn't find anyone else willing to provide the customer with their exact product request. This experience was so much better than my former experience in Santa Rosa, where it felt exploitative, the glasses sales team were out for blood. I highly recommend you give this shop a try. I told them I was so impressed with their customer service that I would write a positive Yelp review & recommend them to any friend, anyone. The other customers seemed to also be having a positive experience. The other Yelp reviews are spot-on. Please discount the guy who complained about breaking his own glasses. read more

My husband is currently shopping for frames. I had just brought my daughter to this location last month to get lenses put in her favorite frames so I suggested this place to look at their selection of frames as they had a good variety last month when we stopped in. I was trying on frames as my husband was shopping cause I like to switch mine out frequently depending on my outfit and was taking pics of my profile with the frames on, I do this every time I shop for frames to make sure I like the way they look from the side. The lady that was working there kept pressing my husband for what he was shopping for and he told her he just wanted to try on frames to figure out what style he liked, she then came up to him and told him that we couldn't take photos of frames if we weren't going to buy them. My husband wasn't even taking photos, I was! Her body language and verbiage was unwelcoming at this point which turned us both off and we abruptly left. This is NOT how you treat customers whether they are browsing or purchasing same day. In fact, I had previous frames from this store stored in my phone that I planned to come back for in the future and I will take my business elsewhere now as well as not bring my daughter back here anymore. Very rude and uncalled for behavior by the lady working tonight. The male that assisted my daughter and I last month should train her on how to give better service, he was very kind. read more

Used to like them a while ago. Bought a $250 pair of prescription and whenever I needed adjustment he new my name and made adjustments. After that I bought a $200 pair of sunglasses. Maybe a couple of month later had sunglasses on seat of my car and put gallon of milk on top of them. Tweaked them right away. His female coworker said nothing could be done so I bought another pair. Damaged that one. Took both to vv site and worker fixed both. Just went back today for bent prescription and he greeted me and said I have scratched lens, just backup. Refused to adjust it. Back in late February / early March, Dan did an amazing job for us. In fact, I'm on my way to pick up my frames, because shortly after making changes to my order, the stay at home order hit for COVID. I didn't leave a well-deserved review back then, but it's time to attest to Dan, Nora, and the Site for Sore Eyes team's terrific customer service. SO needed a new pair of high prescription glasses, and I tagged along to help choose frames. We spent hours, because along with style, SO needed a pair of frames sturdy enough to hold her thick lenses, but lightweight enough to avoid adding significant weight to her face. Nora patiently helped pick out every frame close to the ones we liked. We ended up with a choice of 4 frames in a near identical style, but we were never once rushed. Nora kept an ear out for our questions, and helpfully chose frames from a variety of price points within our range. After Nora told us about a buy 1 prescription frame, get 1 frame free offer, I asked if they had tinted glasses for migraine prevention. Dan explained that he'd be happy to mix something up. I was really specific about wanting a particular shade to mimic FL-41, since I was afraid even a close match might not block out the pain-inducing blue/green wavelengths. Dan assured me he could make a custom mix based on just a photo, and ended up creating a shade to mimic the FL-41 boysenberry. I don't know if it's an exact match, but it sure looks it, and blocks out the pain as promised. Whatever Dan did, he did good. After creating the glasses, Dan told me to try them at home for a week for a test run. A week test run! All for glasses that were part of a package deal. He even encouraged me to let him know if I needed any alternations. (I did by the way, my first pair of lenses are in the photos. Dan kindly gave them to me and said I could come back to swap out the lenses again at anytime. Customer service through the roof here :) After the long journey, Dan quickly made the adjustments and had my glasses ready to pick up. But lazy me didn't go that week. A week later, the stay at home order hit. I wondered whether my glasses would still be there after so many months. But Nora called to remind me not to forget about my glasses, just as the stay at home order lifted. Thanks to Dan, Nora, and the wonderful team members at Site for Sore Eyes. You do a great job with glasses and have wonderful customer service on top of that. You deserve the world! read more
