Chris and Erica Rock!! I am a personal trainer and was having a grand opening of the studio I work at on Saturday. On short notice I found Six19 on Yelp and gave them a call. They called me today and had it done a day early! I don't have a lot of experience order shirts and such but I found the process to be very easy. They had a minimum order of 12 which was fine for me! We received a cold-call type of email from Six19 at our Yelp account (Tony Rotter) right at the same time that we were researching our options for customizing some work clothing for tax purposes. Our order was quite small - we only had 10 pieces to print. Six19 had a great variety of shirts to choose from at VERY reasonable prices in order to meet their 12-piece minimum for the screen print order. They were very creative in placing our screen print design in different locations on shirts that were not the same style as our original 10. The owners and staff were extremely helpful, and communicated back and forth with me several times over the course of several days with questions/answers and other details. As a small business, they are not always available to immediately take a phone call or respond to an email, but they always got back to me promptly. Their prices are very competitive, and they also helped me identify ways to keep our costs down further. Their turnaround time was excellent, and we are very happy with the quality of the job they did for us. The product they produce has been good, when it finally arrives. Tried a few orders, each time it takes an excessive amount of time and repeated calling to get them to do anything in a timely manner. First order they took a month from start to finish and we were short items for our Olympic Lifting team. The second time took over a month to get sweatshirts made. We have a current product that has been delayed over a month for our powerlifting team. We waited 10 days for info on the shirt design for the powerlifting team. When we reached back out after the long delay they said the file needed to be AI. Why did we have to wait this long to be told this and why do we have to be the ones to keep calling to get things moving? I called Monday to discuss a sweatshirt order and they said they would reach out to me... it's Thursday no email no call yet. read more

Continuation of my review: The front desk woman wasn't at all surprised when I came in, stating that she saw my email. I was livid, why would you choose not to acknowledge my message, even knowing I had a deadline I need to meet? It all felt incredibly shady to me. Especially when they'd been diligent in responding to every little question or concern I had before I took the plunge and ordered. She took the shirts back and said that she'd talk to the owner about fixing them. As much as I wanted to throw a fit, I quietly accepted and left, still not having the heart to be one *those* customers. Later that afternoon I received an email saying that they'd re-order the shirts and reprint them "early next week". This time I ask if they can provide me with a proof so I can make sure they look okay before they run the remaining shirts. It's not until the following Tuesday that they say yes to my request and I'm thinking my shirts should be just about done by definition of "early next week". Very discouraging. On Wednesday morning, my boyfriend calls in on my behalf and insists that they absolutely need to get the shirts done before Thursday afternoon. Thursday is when I'm leaving town for a convention where I need the shirts. And their response is so ridiculous, it's almost comical. They promised the shirts would be done by Thursday at 1pm if I thickened my linework and resent it to them in the next couple hours. Unbelievable! After all that happened, I had modify my artwork anyway. Fortunately, I wasn't busy at the moment, but that to me was the last straw. My peers kept saying was being too patient with them and that I needed to put my foot down to get anything done. So I did. I sent the email with the revised artwork within the hour and stated that they I would be showing up on Thursday at 1pm sharp. I'd be walking out with either satisfactory shirts or a refund but at this point it should have been both. Chris apparently didn't like my tone and emailed me saying I had no reason to talk to him or his employees like that. No reason? After giving me the run around? After failing to follow through on deadlines time and time again? I have to take your shady antics without complaint? Please, anyone else would have had twice the amount to say for your abysmal customer service. I hate being confrontational & was nothing but reasonable and patient through this entire process. Thursday comes, the day I depart for my trip. I call in early to make sure it will be done at 1pm as promised. They say it will be. I arrive at the shop at 1pm sharp and would you believe it? The shirts STILL aren't done! I shouldn't even be surprised anymore. I then have to stand in the lobby area for almost a half hour as they finish throwing my shirts together. When they finally present them to me, I was relieved to find that they were in fact accurate and detailed. Unfortunately, they didn't feel good as they looked. The cherry on top of this awful experience is that plastisol, which should have been smooth and shiny, was grainy and scratchy. Very obviously a rush job but I was beyond the point of caring. I was already late to leave on my trip so I accepted the shirts and left. It took well over a full month from the time I placed my order to receive decent shirts and I had to hound them down for it. My customers love how the shirts came out but the entire experience soured me to the idea of attempting apparel design again. Six19 doesn't remain true to their word, has no respect for deadlines & is more than willing to send you away with a less than perfect print job. They have no sense of urgency in correcting THEIR mistakes. The worst part about it is that not one single person in this entire business, ever apologized. For anything. My advice? Maybe they'll work for you if you're some big, important company making huge orders but if you're a small indie artist like me and want someone to actually care about your small projects, I'd go with an artist collective or anyone else really. read more

I really wanted to use a local company to have my wedding invitations printed. They were custom designed by my best friend and pretty special to me. After all the great reviews, I decided to give this company a try. I emailed them from the website and told them exactly what I needed. The same day Chris emailed back with a quote that was actually in my price range and I was so excited. He asked me to email over the artwork and I did so in the correct format he asked for. After I sent the artwork that was the last communication we had. I sent it on a Wednesday and emailed him three more times by the following Tuesday afternoon. I even called the business to find out if maybe he just wasn't receiving my emails for some unknown reason. The girl who answered the phone informed me he had been out of town for the past couple days, but if I left my name and phone number someone else would get back to me by the end of the day. Well, it's been an entire week later and not one single person has called or emailed. My artwork is just sitting in someone's email who doesn't have the courtesy to let me know how to proceed. I've had to find another local printer in San Diego to help with these invitations - which are now going to be late sending out. I will/would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. I'm the Creative Director of So Say We All, a local non-profit, and we were looking to get some shirts made on the quick. We had a smallish budget ($500) for shirts and I really had no idea what that would get us, so I had emailed around a couple places, all of which took 3 or 4 days to get back with a quote--most stores were (rightfully) annoyed about my vague specifications. Six19 got back to me the very same day. Daniel not only gave us a quote for American Apparel-style shirts (which is what I had in mind), but he gave us options for a comparable, but cheaper brand. It really seemed like he wanted to get us the most bang for our budget. Having known nothing of mass-producing T-shirts, it was more than helpful. The shirts came out great. Unbelievable! They are the nicest people in town, and provided superior service to me. I needed about 100 shirts in like 5 business days- printed both sides, three designs. The shirts looks so good I thought the ink was felt. The Black is SO Black! Erica had some issues with vendors, but was on top of it, assured me all would be good, and sure enough it was GREAT! I have literally been through 5 different screen printers / companies in the last 5 years. They always start strong with great prices and then the prices slowly go up and the expediency goes down! I have placed about 5 orders in the last few months and all of them have been flawless! Chris and Erica are great to work with and are very accommodating. Heres where Six19 Excels * Attention to detail * Quality * Expediency * Organization * Communication * Large / Overprint Screens * Foils, Water Based and different print styles Their prices are solid and are not too high but very fair for the quality you get. They are a smaller shop so they don't always have every ink available (there are LOTS of options out there). Be sure to give them a little leeway if you think you have something unique. I own a couple businesses and have tried a handful of printing places up in the last couple years. They by far are the best around. Quality: they have been the best clothes I have gotten. They have their own catalog to choose from which has just a lot more options than I have had in the past. Every thing we have received whether it's screen printing or embroidered its top notch. Everything is even and no color fading. Customer service: every over there is really nice. All emails and calls are handed in a timely manner. They get approvals to you ASAP and fix anything that needs to be changed in less than 24 hours. Time: they have busted butt for me to get me my product. They even pulled off a order of 200 long sleeve tees double printed in less than 48 hours. My last order was HUGE and all done in less than 10 days. I am totally satisfied with this business right now. It all started with me wanting to produce some shirts with my dad's art on the front. I had his art in digital format on a CD and heard it was possible to put digital files on shirts. (yay technology!) I scouted businesses that were able to do this and found one in my hometown, San Diego. I liked their website and how descriptive and detail-orientated it was. I checked them out on Yelp and it looked like people were digging them. So I decided to check them out. Automatic props for being located in my stomping grounds, Point Loma. Erica greeted me at the door (I later found out she was co-owner) and showed me around. A very cool, laid back, good energy type of place. I could tell right away that they were all about the art and wanted to produce good quality. I told Erica my idea for putting my dad's art on some shirts and she showed me the different processes for putting art onto shirts (screen printing, direct to garment, heat transfer) and also my brand of shirt options. I also met the other co-owner Chris and he was very helpful as well. He loaded the images from my CD to their computer and we talked about the different options I had. This was all new to me so it was awesome that he was patient with me. We settled on direct to garment and then we talked price. I was a little bummed that it was only possible to do direct to garment on white shirts but I was very happy with the price per shirt so I ordered 24 of them. I am very happy with how they turned out. I totally plan on going back to make more shirts after I sell these. I should also mention that they offer a lot of different services besides making shirts. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by Chris, who is the owner of Six19. Being the owner of a small business myself I know the importance of customer service and talking directly with your customers. He was very helpful. He went over all my options, including pricing, for t-shirts, hats and sweatshirts for my business. He explained how the screen printing and embroidery options worked and recommended different hats and t-shirts. Chris set me up with Doug, one of his graphic designers. Doug sat down with me to find out exactly what I wanted as far as a logo design. I was trying to get all of my current logos and what Doug created converted to vector images. He did a great job creating a few different logos as vector images, so now I will be able to use them for banners, business cards, etc. He created exactly what I wanted/needed. I have been getting stuff screen printed well over 5 years and pretty much seen Six19 go from a small few person printing operation to a one stop shop that can handle anything or any project you throw their way. I honestly can not count the number of jobs that I have done with them and I have never once had a problem because the attention to detail and customer service that they provide is top notch. I have learned my lesson from using other print shops after one time when Six19, at the time could not provide me with the exact service I wanted (thankfully that was solved after a short period of time, like I said these guys know customer service and do whatever it takes) so I had no choice but to go somewhere else. My first order with the well established print shop had a few items that were incorrect, and this continued until the fourth time when I had more then enough, this was 4 orders, every time they were wrong, sure they were little but it still held me up. After this I knew that I had to call Chris and figure out a way to make it work because I do not want anyone else printing my stuff or clients stuff then Six19. Big or small, that stuff just doesn't happen at Six19 because they care about what leaves their shop. I would not recommend using any shop in San Diego aside from Six19! read more
