Prior Customer: So I rented a car from Sixt in late January for pick up late February. My plans sometimes change so I made sure I saw "Free Cancellation" on the website. Had to cancel just a few days later and got charged $100. I went back to the website and discovered that I missed the fine print. "Free Cancellation" was good for only 24 hours after booking. I rented from Sixt multiple times without issue. Yes, the cars are usually a little worn out, but you get what you pay for. While visiting the Orlando area to see Disney World, I rented a car from this location. The car I received was pretty beat up... more so than most I've gotten from them. So I took photos of all the significant damage and drove off. I returned the car to the airport without any new damage and was on my way. Several months later, I received an email from Fleet Response demanding I pay $429 for a 10 cm scuff on the rear passenger door! The scuff was already present, along with numerous dents, dings, and scratches. The scuff was so minor it paled in comparison to the rest of the damage. This is a scam designed to extract more money from customers. i have read multiple reviews in which the same thing happened to others! Of course, they want it to be under $500 because that is most people's insurance deductible, and they don't want their insurance company getting involved. Sixt has no intent to repair this car; they will pocket the money and sell the damaged car once its useful life is over. Horrible. The rental car agent at Orlando told me that if I get the Toll package it would be a wash since I will be getting a credit on the length of rental. I would owe $12.01. In the end they are billing me $61.75- with no explanation. They actually told me that the invoice doesnt have match the rental agreement amount. I was concerned with the current yelp ratings for Sixt, but after my trip I thought it went super smooth. The employees that were at this location were friendly and knowledgeable. We rented a BMW 330i, and it drove well. The only downside is that it smelt like it had a smoker drive in it previously. The inside of the vehicle was spotless, just a little smelly. We drove from Orlando to the Keys and dropped the car off at the rental return at MIA. Super smooth drop off, even at 3am. They do put a 500 dollar hold on your credit card, but it was taken off a day or so after the trip ended. read more

If I could give a ZERO I would... My only problem wasn't the security deposit being more than your actual car rental. In my case I used a debit card for the rental and had to have extra money sent to me then put in my account, just to have enough to rent the car and I have not seen the return on my DEBIT CARD. And the charge of $249 is INVALID!! All the fees that I am being charged are INVALID and I am very disappointed and feel disrespected for taking good care of the rental and made sure I verbally asked to drop off the car at a different location WITH NO CHARGE before I did so. I live out of state so I can't just walk over there and resolve anything. The grand total came to $322.86!! The actual rental wasn't even $100.... My concerns are I have NOT received my security deposit back as well as being wrongfully charged a bunch of random fees and there's nothing I can do because I'm not in state ?? What kind of customer service is that. Please take the time to retrain the employees at that location. Take some time to look at the reviews on yelp of that location, they are ALL the same complaints. I will add photos below. As others have said this company undertakes the fraudulent practice of adding on extras without your knowledge. I've been travelling to Florida for vacations for 30 years and this used to be a big problem but seemed to die out years ago but now SIXT agents are at it again. I rented a car from them for a week and pre booked everything I needed and even emailed them prior to confirm everything I wanted was included in the price. Upon arriving at the airport I proceeded to their desk and presented my rental booking agreement and was informed they would take a $200 deposit that would be refunded upon return of the car. I put my card in the machine and paid it and was sent away to pick up the car. I had to go back to the desk because I realised the agent had tried to keep my rental agreement. Should have known then something was wrong. Collected the car and enjoyed my week's holiday then returned the car and flew back to the UK. When I had returned I discovered I had received a new invoice from SIXT with additional charges of $184.90 for "Complete Protection" package (roadside protection, personal accident, personal property) which I declined at the initial booking process as I already have all that with my own travel and home insurance. I have emailed SIXT multiple times to resolve it and in the last email they have stated that the extras were presented to me on a screen at the desk when I collected the car and I agreed to it. This is simply not true. At no time did the agent advise or show me any extras options. I would have refused all if I had been. I was only informed of the $200 deposit and the only screen I saw was the small credit card machine screen. Currently in the process of disputing the charge with mr card company but will be making a complaint to the FTC in the USA about the conduct of this company and also the Mayor or Orlando and the Governor of Florida. After a long flight from Toronto we were warmly greeted by Marcia D at Miami airport. We'd reserved a premium car and were offered a brand new Volvo S60. A sweet ride. But then Marcia D upgraded us to a convertible Mustang!! What a surprise. Totally awesome!! My boy loved it!!! And cruising into Key West couldn't have been better. We had the car 5 days. They even didn't mind that I picked up in Miami and dropped off in Orlando. Top down. Looking like a couple of big ballers. Pick up and drop off was smooth and easy. Seamless. I'll give it 2 stars... +1 for finally getting it right and +1 for getting me the car I reserved. -3 for the hassle about their terms & conditions and attitude from the staff. I prepaid for the luxury convertible (code PTAR) and did my research on t&c and other people's experience. I created a Sixt account to manage my reservation and I thought select the exact car I wanted from the inventory up to 1 hour before pickup. I brought the credit card I used for payment and made sure they would be able to do the ridiculous $600 authorization. Well, kudos to them that the exact car I expected was there... Then why advertise being able to select the car in advance? Only thing I could do was add extra options and coverage, not what was suggested. The app was actually helpful for finding nearby gas stations and having a countdown to pickup/drop off. Other than that not too useful for me, especially since they didn't once answer the phone listed, virtually impossible to reach people at the Lake Buena Vista office. Similar to some of there other reviews I had some credit card challenges also. The girl at the desk tells me I need to have 2 major credit cards in my name to rent a luxury vehicle. I told her that wasn't noted anywhere and that the reminder emails and app only said the credit card used for payment had to be present. She insisted I missed it and pulled out some piece of paper with their t&c and told me it's right here and that people miss it all the time. I let her know how disappointed I was and asked her to show me where in my email or the app that was listed. Well, she couldn't find it and basically stuck with people always messing that up. When I asked for a manager she kind of laughed telling me that she doesn't work weekends and I couldn't speak with her. She said I could do an economy,(at the same rate for a luxury!) or she would cancel my reservation for free, (she did point out if I called corporate they would charge me, gee thanks!) I continued to argue that if this is happening all the time maybe it's a problem, I was recommended to let corporate know. I stepped out to check plans and upon returning the person "helping" me had a chance to contact her manager. Apparently there isn't a second card required if I booked from out of state... What?! In the end I got the car I reserved at the price I was quoted, but what the hell is going on here? After reserving our specific vehicle plenty in advance, when I went through the effort of uploading my drivers license, taking a selfie, and trying to reserve my exact car the day of (they had sent an email about this)- it said our type of car was out but I could spend almost $1,000 (over twice as much) for a BMW. That was the only car that was shown as available. Instead of going straight to my car as promised with my tired child, I had to stand in line. Then, we were given a vehicle that smelled like POT. They also charged us extra erroneous charges that we were never told about. When I called to tell customer service, the worker was the rudest and most unhelpful customer service person I've ever spoken to- refused to lift a finger to help and then hung up on me!!! Avoid using the rental service. I tried them because of their partnership with Lyft, without reading reviews, which I now regret because I see my experience has been the same as others. Customer service was poor, car was dirty, could have overlooked those few things but worst part was the hold they put in your credit card that they WILL use to charge BOGUS extra fees. I got charged more for returning the car "late." I did return it after-hours, but not later than I agreed upon when I made reservation. I've written, with proof, to their customer service email TWICE with no response in over 2 weeks. I was online one night trying to rent a convertible for my honeymoon in Orlando. I searched several companies to find the best rate possible. Out of shear luck, I stumbled into Sixt's website and found that their prices beat Thrify by about $60 for the week. I later found out they are a European company that is motivated to make a dent in the US rental market. The rental ended up being $400 for a 6 day rental, which was incredible savings! After doing a search, I learned that there was a promo code available for Sixt reward club members. This code saved me an additional 5% which brought my total to $375 and with tax it ended up being $399 total!!! (This was adding my wife as a secondary driver, so singly, it's cheaper.) Make sure when you process your order that you respond to the follow up email, there will be a few, but they are critical to ensure a good express check in. After getting to MCO, I was sad to find out that they do not have a counter at the airport, but they will shuttle you there for no charge. Upon entering, you will notice a really simple and modern looking counter station. Reminds me of Tmobile. The woman that waited on me was super friendly and took care of us. We were supposed to get a Ford Mustang, but unfortunately, they were out of stock. For the inconvenience, they provided me with a a 420HP 6.2L Chevrolet Camaro SS!!! She asked me if that was ok, and I said that is fine, but inside I was screaming YEEEESSSS! I had the car checked over for defects, an they noted them for check out and sent me on my way. Super painless! After an intense week of walking through Disney and Universal, we were ready to go home. We filled the tank, and drove back over to Sixt. They took the car, looked it over and gave me a receipt for the exact amount I paid. The shuttle came, took our luggage and brought us straight to our terminal. Done and done! Overall, this was a great experience, and I will definitely do business with this great company! read more

Worst experience ever. If you want to have a happy trip, you must avoid this dishonest company. I charged me additional $250 smoking fee, which I never smoke for my whole life. I called their customer service and asked them whether you guys have any proof that I smoked in the car on that day, the told me that branch manager said it smelled like smoked. What! It is the branch at 12205 S Apopka Vineland Rd, inside hotel lobby, Lake Buena Vista, Orlando, FL 32836. You will never want to meet that dishonest and rude manager in your whole life. I went to their branch to discuss this issue with her, and on that day I supposed to take my daughter to Disney world, she refused to talk with me and use serving other clusters as an excuse and shut me out of the door. I do not know how she can behave so strong to serve other customers which means another person might experience the same thing as I did. NOPE. DON'T EVEN ENTERTAIN THIS COMPANY AS AN OPTION. I should have listened to the reviews on Yelp! Made the mistake of renting with Sixt and after doing everything right, I still end up with a bogus claim for an existing scratch that was not documented previously - as so many renters have experienced. Here's my letter to Sixt below. I will also upload their response and resolution. So disappointed that I am being targeted for claims simply because I didn't opt for their insurance coverage. ----- Dear Sir/Madam, I received an email yesterday claiming that the front right aluminum rim of the rental car (VW Passat - FL-BPDI46) was scratched during my rental period. There is a mistake in this claim, as I know that I did not scratch the rim, hit any road debris, touch the rim, or rub on any curb (curb rash) during my rental contract. Upon arriving at the Sixt facility in Orlando and checking in shortly after 1:30 AM, a Sixt employee got the keys from my service rep (Mr. Marvin S.) and went to fetch the car. I waited outside on under the carport and the employee proceeded to pull the car nearby into a completely dark parking spot - with no lights whatsoever. He handed me the keys as he was on his cell phone and I stopped him and asked, "Is that it? Am I good to go?" He shrugged and nodded and back into the office he went, still on his phone. I had to turn on my cell phone light to make my way to the car and load up my luggage in the trunk. I noted the two previously marked damages on the front and rear bumper on my contract, and I looked at all of the panels using my cell phone light to look for anything that was missed. All of the tires were inflated properly and besides normal wear and tear the car looked to be in good repair, so I left the lot after performing my own thorough inspection. This car was carefully driven, never parked on the street, and garaged during the duration of my rental. Under no circumstances was there any damage done to the car nor any mishaps on the road or otherwise that would justify a 10 cm curb rash that was down to the primer as shown in the photos. I know that this damage was done by a previous renter and on the car beforehand and the scratch was simply not documented by your team until now. I did a walk-around with the young lady that checked me in and inspected the entire car before I went to the airport shuttle and MADE SURE that there was no damage and that I was completely free and clear. She confirmed to me that everything looked great and I was good to go. I have done my due diligence since this was the first time renting from Sixt. I wanted to make absolutely sure an incident like this didn't happen to me. Especially after reading review upon review on YELP where countless renters receive bogus claims for damages they did not do. And almost on cue, I get a damage claim from Sixt claiming that I scratched their rim after making absolutely sure I didn't damage the car in any way AND protect myself from an incorrect claim. Please remove this claim from my account. IF IT HAD BEEN ME that scratched the rim, I would own my mistake and pay for the damages. But knowing the extent I went to in order to protect myself and take care of the car makes this claim absolutely ludicrous. I look forward to hearing from you with your resolution. I normally rent from Sixt company and today I had the absolute WORST experience! At the Lake Buena Vista Sixt location, I walked in to 3 employees rallying around an iPhone seeming to look at an Instagram video as I stood there waiting for them to finish then an employee by the name Zohaib started to help me but then I realized he had no interest and was extremely rude and not helpful at all. I normally show all needed paperwork and go on about my day but today Zohaib told me I had to speak to a manager by the name of Melissa but then he would not give me the contact information to reach her and told me he would have security escort me out if I did not leave I recorded him and then he tried to smack my phone out of my hands!(I have attached photos foI'm really upset by this as i drove here from Miami Beach using this company and I am trying to drive back home to Miami Beach after a week at Disney using this company. ,Maurice Response to ROB: 02/22/18 Thanks Rob! I did have to wait briefly and overheard customers in front of me with lots of questions. Both agents were very patient and pleasant to them. The car I rented was a great value for what I was charged. I also loved that I was not charged a fee to return the car to another location. I want to start off by saying that you guys made the process of renting a car very easy online. I was very happy with the reservation. Once I went to pick up the car, it was a totally different story. Kayla, the girl at the counter of the Sheraton Lake Buena Vista, FL was just rude from the beginning. I showed up with my QR code email ready to scan and pick up the keys as instructed in the confirmation email, with my ID and card in hand. She didn't care about my email or QR code and told me that they couldn't accept my card because it was a debit card. It came as a surprise to me as the payment had gone through just fine when I booked the car. If the company doesn't take debit cards for the deposit, how can they accept it for rental payment?!? It seems illogical to any normal person. I asked to speak to her manager, because she couldn't manager to look at me when speaking to me, she told me that he was not there. Who's running the branch then? Who's in charge of dealing with these issues?!? All she did was give me the number to the reservations line and said there was nothing she could do and basically didn't care if I was stranded. When I was finally able to get someone on the line, the lady on the phone told me that I should ask for a manager, as they should be able to help me and be available 24/7 even if they're not on site. I walked over to the counter and told this to Kayla, she asked to speak with the phone rep because she said it wasn't true; as I put the phone on speaker phone to let the phone rep and Kayla discuss this manager issue, the one on the phone just hung up on me! I left the branch furious and was left stranded in Orlando. After a few hours I was able to get a car from another company, who listened and cared about the situation, and has the culture of caring for people. They were able to get me a car last minute to get to my destination, even on 4th of July weekend when they were completely booked out. However, I was not able to make my meeting and resulted in a loss of business thanks to your company's insensitivity. In conclusion I want to make sure you know that Sixt Rent A Car's lack of hospitality and customer service is appalling, and the fact that your company has people like this working is a reflection of your standards and attitude towards customer satisfaction. We arrived at the Orlando airport and went to the Sixt counter to get our car. That's when we found out that Booking.com had cancelled our confirmed premium SUV car rental at Sixt. Ahmed at the Sixt counter was outstanding, going above and beyond in service to find out what had happened and get us into a premium SUV at our original price. I was staying at the Sheraton where this Sixt office is located. Hadn't tried Sixt before, but after a bad experience with Dollar down the road, I booked online. Staff was friendly, they offered complimentary bottled water and gave me a nice clean car. Drop-off at the airport, the shuttle there and email receipt were all seamless. Minus one star since one of the other staff kept interrupting my agent, so checkout took longer than necessary. Will definitely rent from Sixt again, especially noting they have a cool selection of cars including Audis and Minis. read more

This company wasted my time and stole my money. I am beyond furious with the dishonesty, broken promises, and generally terrible customer service. I reserved a full-sized, luxury SUV (XFAR), only to arrive and discover that no such car was available, and that I would instead be downgraded two levels to a smaller, non-luxury vehicle (PFAR). Needless to say, I was very disappointed, but I was promised that they would work to have the correct car available for me within 2-3 days, transferred from another location if need be. On Friday evening, I was told by the corporate reservations team that they had scheduled an exchange for me at the branch at 1PM the following day. Only, they didn't actually have a car for me, and NOBODY BOTHERED TO CALL TO TELL ME NOT TO COME. Thankfully, I called them to confirm 30 minutes before my appointment, or I would have wasted my vacation time driving over to pick up a car that didn't exist. I was planning to leave the Magic Kingdom to make the trip, even, as that was the only way I would have made it during their business hours. I am genuinely flabbergasted that not only would they schedule an exchange when they couldn't deliver, they wouldn't call to tell me not to waste my time. I ended up calling 7 times in the next five days, spending at least 3 hours of my vacation time on hold or on the phone. I was TWICE promised that a supervisor would call me back, and nobody ever did. Through all of this, despite numerous promises that they would get back to me, not one single Sixt employee called me to update me about my situation. I was always the one reaching out to them, wasting hours of my vacation trying to get them to do their jobs. I finally got through to their Twitter team, who arranged an exchange at the Orlando airport location, about 30 miles away, on the 6th day of my rental. Though I asked them to transfer the car to the location near me, where I had rented from originally, in the end I had to waste almost 2 hours driving to the airport (paying gas and tolls), waiting in line, waiting for them to bring my replacement car around, and driving back. I had to do this, because we were driving down to Naples that morning, and the Crossover SUV they put us in was not large enough to hold all of our luggage. In the end, I did not have the car that I was charged for during more than half of my rental period, and had to adjust my travel plans and waste 3 hours on the phone and 2 hours driving to exchange the car at an inconvenient location. The cars are a great value for fantastic quality, but they wasted my time and stole my money. I can't recommend them. read more

It was near closing time when I got there and I was so disappointed thinking I wouldn't be able to rent. It was my boyfriends birthday and our original travel plans didn't work. Chelsea waited past closing time until my brother came with my license. Chelsea's amazing attitude was one of a kind and I'm so pleased that I came to this location and rented with Sixt Rent A car. Please Please Please be aware of this company and its practices. If you are like me who places the trust in the company and its customer service representative (Stephanie P.) when doing business, then be prepared to be taken advantage of and receive a bill later on for damages that were already there before hand. Lets say you rent a car and you do not take the time to go around video documenting each and every piece of car, or if you did but missed a small scratch somewhere on the vehicle. Logically you could say, well the company can provide evidence that the damage wasn't there before you rented the vehicle. Except this company doesn't have that. What they have is only the damage they notice after you bring the vehicle there, and in their own words that is "proof, " therefore you're out luck, except this isn't proof. I tried very reasonably and logically to explain the burden of proof shouldn't be on the customer who is utilizing your vehicle. The clear and unquestionable documented proof should be provided by the company to be able to show me clearly that this scratch wasn't there beforehand and it is after you brought the vehicle. We used the vehicle minimally, we drove it for 2 hours, and parked it in an indoor garage during the duration of the trip. Now they are billing us for 3 scratches. You have to realize that the representatives there make money on selling you insurance, so if you decline coverage, you can as sure bet that when you bring it back they will bill you for damages (even if it is a scratch the size of a literal pinpoint dot). My only advice to you at this point that if you're reading this, try to avoid these local branches. I would suggest you take the time to go to the airport where they are less likely to do this. The last thing and I cannot stress this enough, please make sure you take a very detailed video of the vehicle and do not trust them when they give you the sheet of the damages, make sure you go through the vehicle after hand and document anything you see on there and have a manager sign the damages you notice. EVEN, if they tell you not to worry about anything smaller than an inch, that is a lie, and they will bill you for this after. On a separate note, do not purchase anything with them at the counter, use other companies such as Priceline or other online companies. If you make the reservation with them at the table, expect to pay double the price. Please use my situation and experience to avoid this company all together, and do no get caught in a scheme like this by following the steps I listed above. Thank you. read more

If you don't take their insurance, you will receive a letter (after a month) claiming damages to the car, ( car was scratched and dented by the time of the rental and stated on the rental agreement) make sure to take pictures( I did) of every side of the car including the wheels... fenders, bumpers roof etc... what a joke, happen two times... will never rent a car from this company again read more

This is the first Yelp review I have ever written. DO NOT RENT from this location. If I could give 0 stars, I would. We have been waiting forever for a car we rented. I am still waiting as I write the review. We have no idea when the car will arrive. We've been told to simply wait until it works itself out. If you need a rental car on time, do not rent here. That said, the person working the desk has actually been very nice. It is not her fault that the company is defunct. Real time update! Still waiting. Still no idea when the car will arrive. Other people have been waiting much longer than us. There is actually a group of us that just met, waiting around in the lobby. Again... do NOT rent from this place. Last update: we finally got the car. Sort of. It's taking forever for them to clean multiple cars. So after a multi hour wait, we may finally get it. Called at 11:00am and the employee told us they had the Mercedes available at the location at 1:30pm. I called back to check on the reservation and they told us we were not even in the system even though I gave the guy my full name and number. They ended up not even having a car that was going to be well suited for our group. Now we are frantically driving around town looking for a place to rent a car to go down to Miami. read more

I couldn't understand why this company has so many complaints...now I do. The prices were competitive with other companies so I thought I would give them a try. The experience of pick up/drop off was as you would expect, but now a week after the fact I have received an email stating I damaged the vehicle. They included photos which are clearly of a door being opened into the car. I'm not overly surprised since the drop off was very busy and there were so few employees, however when an employee did get to us he walked around the car, noting no damage, and told us to leave the keys on the dash. Who knows how long the car sat there before they moved it! I would suggest going to another company, as I will for future rentals. read more

This is NOT the airport location. Comes up quite often when using a third-party tool to book. Will charge you relocation or if you want to drop off at airport (cheaper to get an Uber). No signs until you're outside on where to go in MCO and for a tourist hotel area with a lot of patrons, there was only one person on duty at desk and it took me 20 minute wait to be seen and 20 minutes afterward to get my car. read more

This place is a joke. I rented a car to driver down to Delray Beach, Fl from Orlando and I left my Gucci Sunglasses in the sun glass holder. I dropped the car back off on October 24th at 11pm afterhours. I called 30+ times Friday morning and nobody answered the phone at all. After 2 hours i finally got a hold of somebody, only to be told that they are not there. I have two other witnesses that know the glasses were in the car. The lady i spoke to wouldn't let me speak to a manager. Will never ever think about renting a car from this place again. I am in the process of filing a police report. STAY AWAY from this company . I had a really really bad experience and I regret doing business with them. I wish I could give them ZERO stars. Reservation price : $85.75 Ended up paying : $141.67 Date : 01/14/2019 Document : 9392223996/00/M/00/N When picking up the vehicle : (Stephanie ) - when I arrived I waited for about 5 mins before the lady realized I was there! In front of her. of course she was texting or doing something else in her phone. - i was told they didn't have the car I reserved anymore and the only vehicle left was a bigger SUV with extra seats I didn't need. Of course $25 dollars more. - I was forced to buy their insurance policy when I explained them mine would cover everything , it's not the first time I used it out of the state of Washington .. $14.99 - I traveled from Orlando to Clearwater , I checked online if they were any tolls on my route and there were none but when the lady asked me where I was going she said there were new tolls and suggested to get "Express toll unlimited" so I got it because I didn't want to deal with late payments etc.. oh surprise! No tolls at all... I paid $8.99 - when I got the vehicle I have to admit it was pretty clean inside but outside looked like whoever washed it was the first time washing a vehicle. No big deal I stopped by at gas station to at least clean the windows . When returning the vehicle : (Ana ) - I stepped inside her little office and said "good morning " , she was facing the opposite side , I guess she got scared because her response was "puta madre" in Spanish . She cursed at me and she didn't even apologize . Of course I understood I speak Spanish. - I told her I was there to return the vehicle and she and I walked over to the GMC Acadia walked around the car to see if there was any damage and didn't find anything. - she asked if I filled up the gas tank I said yes. She started the vehicle to make sure and OMFG! she told me "it's not full" I thought she was joking to brake the ice since she seemed to be angry from the moment she saw me. But she wasn't , she told me I was going to be fine $10 for not returning it full. I explained her that I just filled up at the gas station across the street (shell ) literally across the damn street . She told me I needed to pay for the gas i used from there to the parking lot ! Are you serious? She argued over 5 mins demanding payment for that , either $10 cash , be fined or me going back to the gas station and put more gas haha her stupid logic because if I do it I would be using the exact same amount of gas to come back. I told her I was not going back to the gas station, I was not gonna give her the money .am I supposed to carry a gas can or what ? It was to irritating just wanted to walk away. - I asked for my receipt and she refused to give it to me . I asked for the receipt 3 times and didn't get it. Why? Because they charged me $ 14.19 for fuelling the vehicle. The gallon that day was only $1.99 that's 7.5 gallons / half tank. - of course she was also all the time on her phone.checking Facebook and texting. read more
