There was a courtesy phone outside, called it the Hertz employee said someone would be there, they are "probably getting another customer a car". 30 minutes later, used the courtesy phone again assured someone should be there. 60 minutes later, spoke with the valet out front they called Hertz said someone should be there. 90 minutes later, I called Hertz, they are not sure what happened but someone should be there. 110 minutes later, someone from Hertz finally shows up and doesn't even blink an eye out how long we've been waiting, starts talking to us and then checking his cell phone and he could maybe get a car for us. No thanks. Won't use Hertz again based on this experience, went with another rental car company that responded immediately and picked up within 10 minutes.

My husband ran over a pothole, which required him to have his car in for service. He got a rental car through his insurance, which is how we ended up with Hertz. My husband's insurance agent made the reservation at this location and called to confirm that the location would be open until 5 p.m. I left work early to bring him to pick up his rental car, and we arrived at 4:30 p.m. Imagine our surprise to find out that the Hertz employee was not there. Come to find out that it is a "one man show" at this location, where the employee will end up cleaning the cars and handling the rental. So there was no one to help us with getting a rental car. We called Hertz corporate who transferred my husband to the local manager. The local manager was completely apathetic to the fact that their employee left the location early, stating that the employee probably left early because they weren't expecting anyone. That doesn't make sense because the insurance company sent over the request AND confirmed the location was open until 5 p.m. There was no apology for the inconvenience either. Do yourself a favor and pick another location because it is clear this location leaves much to be desired.

Worst rental experience I've ever had with Avis…read more I do want to recognize the young lady at the counter, Luz, I believe was her name, who was absolutely amazing and very helpful. Unfortunately, everything else about this experience was extremely disappointing. There were numerous unexpected fees and policies that were not clearly explained at the time of the rental. My original reservation indicated a return time of 5:00 p.m., yet the rental was somehow changed to a noon return. To make matters worse, the return location I was assigned did not have a drop box. Due to accidents and heavy traffic, I was unfortunately delayed in returning the vehicle. I attempted to contact the rental location directly, but it is nearly impossible to reach anyone at the actual location because everything is routed through a call center. This rental was already an unexpected expense that I was forced to incur because of an emergency. After everything that happened, I was then charged an additional $150 for being approximately three hours late. That is absolutely ridiculous and completely unacceptable, especially considering the circumstances and the lack of clear communication regarding the return time and location. I understand that late fees may apply, but an additional $150 for three hours, particularly when my reservation originally reflected a 5:00 p.m. return, is excessive. Unfortunately, this experience has completely changed my opinion of Avis. Despite the excellent customer service I received from Luz, I will not rent from Avis again.

We went in thinking we would be paying $150 and we ended up paying $450. They add random fees and taxes so beware. Carry a copy of your insurance card with you or else they will charge you for insurance. When returning my vehicle, 3 other families were returning their cars and every single one of them were upset about unnecessary charges.
