When I pulled up, we were greeted with, "You are late and we are charging you a late fee!" It caught me off guard to be greeted in this manner. I explained to the young girl that I picked up the care at 1pm and paid for a full 8 days and that usually means returning the next day by 1pm was still fully paid. I am bringing it back using only 5 hours on the last day. She immediately shot back and said "you stated 6pm on your return time and it is 7:04pm and I am charging you 2 hours late". When I said, "Serious?' She said, "Yeah I am serious, you heard me". I asked for a manager to speak with and she said I could call or go inside. I was on my way to catch a flight and had no time to go to the rental car desk and find a manager. Hopefully, someone sees this and can help with the customer service on the return side of the business. I know some of these young kids are not used to talking to adults, but if you do not know how to speak to customers, do not put these employees in those positions.

On Tuesday (7 days later) I was told no items had been turned in and that they would open a claim and check the cameras and get back to me within 24 hours. No return call, no update. I called today and they made the mistake of picking up the phone. I identified who I was and explained why I was calling amd was met with "Oh I can't really hear you, I'll call you back." Then the lady hung up and didn't answer again. So not only are we going to take things that are left in the vehicle, they are going to be super unprofessional. Think carefully before you spend your money here.

They offered me a mid-size type of vehicle, instead of my compact-one without any charges which was nice from the beginning. I'm pleased and everything was very smooth ! Pick-up is easy. You call the number and they will come for you an pick you up. I don't hate rental car companies, but I can say that it's rarely a "enjoyable" experience. Typically long waits, huge upsell attempts and a ton of paperwork. Well, that's not the experience I had at this Hertz! For this particular situation, I had to get a State Farm Insurance approved rental after totaling my SUV. After I called SFI and they set up the rental I received an email saying call Hertz, you'll all set. Doing just as they requested, I called Hertz and the manager actually went over my options to maximize the amount of time I could get my rental for (basically try to use the most reasonable size car you can when you have no idea if / when you'll know about your own car). Paul was really cool and very speedy. Once I arrived Paul had literally pulled my car up to the front of the hotel and had all the paperwork ready to go. He submitted the claim to State Farm and took my credit card for deposit, walked out side to show the car / existing condition and he handed me the keys to say...Have nice day. I was dreading the process before I got there and was I ever pleasantly surprised to go through a relatively painless process. Note, since I picked up the rental and write this review I had to change to a larger vehicle for 2 days. It was NO PROBLEM and they even went so far as to transfer a car for me the same day to another location closer to me and staying open longer so I could get it. This was a legit effort and one that was not unrecognized. Bravo Hertz Marriott Airport Hotel!

Car ran great, and had amazing fuel economy (34.9 MPG for whole trip). We had three of us in the car (we are fairly large people), and the seats were a little snug, but overall pretty nice. The ride quality was great, so smooth it was easy to lose track, and find yourself speeding.
